Great little place. Had the herb crusted Mahi Mahi, was sxcellent. My only suggestion would be to put it on a bed of rice not potatoes. Banana Foster was yummy. Highly recommend.

The menu has a good variety of entrees to choose from, and we ordered the top sirloin steak. It lacked flavor not to mentioned how tough it was. I was a bit disappointed that the steak wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. I’m not sure if I’ll be back for steak but maybe I’m better off just ordering the Bananas Foster!°

Came here tonight for date night with the my fiancé. We wanted to try something new and I picked Stubriks based off their Unilocal reviews, and boy are we glad we did! We got there around 4:30 when it was still very slow and immediately sat at a nice quiet booth. Our server was Allie and she was very nice. My fiancé and I were each torn between two menu options and she helped us make our choices. We started with the popper appetizers which were delicious! For our entrees my fiancé for the black and blue filet Mignon and it was absolutely amazing! He could not stop talking about it all night! The one bite that he allowed me to have was very tasty! As for me, I got the veal porterhouse. It was melt in your mouth good! I got so full off our appetizer and salad that I was only able to eat a few bites, but I am so excited to polish it off tomorrow . Will Definitely recommend Stubriks to anyone who will listen from now on! We will be back soon!

Fathers day dinner with my family. Ordered 24oz. Porterhouse steak, blackened shrimp pesto, and banana foster. Amazing! Perfect steak, awesome service. Don’t forget to get the steak with some horseradish. Will definitely come again.

I’ve been here a few times, for both dinner and drinks on separate occasions. First time was for dinner and I was pleasantly surprised with my meal. Ordered the bacon wrapped filet, the bacon was too fatty and chewy so I took it off. Other than that it was delish. Large portion sizes. Second and third times I went just for drinks and they had live music, it was a good time each of these times. Downside was the bathroom was a little dirty and the dinner service was slow. Still, definitely recommend. Good for dinner/date night/drinks/night out with friends. It has a better/more adult crowd than the super typical young Fullerton college crowd.

I came here for my wedding dinner with my family and it definitely surprised me how cozy and fantastic they were. Amazing food, especially the stuffed mushrooms, fantastic steaks. Great selection of alcohol and very intimate feel to the place. Our waitress was wonderful and patient with our large group. Thank you for making mine and my husband’s wedding day complete, Stubriks.

I have been coming here for years with my friends. They have one of the best ribeyes money can buy. Not to mention that their banana fosters is by far the best anywhere. The price is very fair for their food. I have tried many different things on the menu and not once have I been upset or disappointed.

Was so excited to go here for our Anniversary and I was not impressed. Everything tasted like it was dumped with pepper. Potatoe soup would have been great if it wasn’t seasoned so heavy with pepper. Top sirlon was dry and over cooked. I had to remove the peppered crust. Again WAY to heavy on the pepper. Veggies were pretty good. We were never asked if the food was ok or I would have sent my steak back. Not a place we are likely to retun to.

Wow! The best meal I’ve have had for under $ 20 in ever as I can remember. Kick off with fresh salad followed by a perfectly aged, rubbed and prepared 8oz top sirloin with delicious mashed potatoes and mixed veggies, you will not need or want steak sauce! If the deal want enough, the ambience is warm and laid back with brick, dim lights and a big ‘olé wood bar with liquor lining the mirrored backdrop! I’ll be back!

I am writing this review based on their horrible service. My girlfriends and I walked in very excited to eat and drink. Little did we know that our service would be this terrible. One of my girls had an expired ID so the server didn’t accept it so we said«okay, no worries.» She also had her passport card which she used to try and buy a drink once again. Not only did our server not recognize that it was a damn passport card but he went ahead and asked 3 other people, including the general manager who was sitting at the bar in normal attire(t-shirt and shorts). The general manager then proceeded to make himself comfortable and sit at our table without introducing himself. He then asked my friend if the card was hers. He proceeded to state that he had never seen this kind of card before… blah blah(pretty much stating that it was fake). When we expressed our frustration at how long getting a drink took, HETHREWTHECARDATMYFRIEND! I then asked him who he was and he finally said«Actually, I’m the general manager!» I canceled our food and paid for our appetizers and got the hell out of there. From the server to the food runner to the«manager» in shorts… RUDE and BLAND. Too bad that the food is so great because our appetizers were delicious but service is very important. It also takes a lot for me to write a bad review so that’s how you know how bad this experience was. You just lost a loyal and regular customer.

Great steakhouse for a date night(which is why we were there). Service was fast and friendly and they have a great upstairs area where you can lounge, play pool and hang out. The drinks were large and tasty, although they were all served in the same type of cup(I say cup, because it was basically a hard plastic«glass»). Wish they came in drink ware that is appropriate for the type of drink you are getting(martini=martini glass, etc…). The food was tasty and well-priced. Our steaks were made to order and although they are not a high-end place, I felt like you definitely get a great value and taste for the price. They also had some live music. The front part of the restaurant’s seating is a bit crowded and tight and the noise level is high, so bear in mind that this is not so much a quiet, intimate type place.

I’m rarely eat steak but ocassionally like a great filet mignon which I’ve had at Mastros, Flemings, Mortons, etc. I was happily surprised the first time I had Stubriks filet w blue cheese. It was perfectly cooked and came with a good sized garden salad w/sunflower seeds! Genius! Also comes w/mashed potatoes that were lite and airy like whipped clouds of potatoes and a vegetable medley of zucchini, carrots, & broccoli. AMAZING! So that’s exactly what keeps me going back again and again. The garlic cheese bread is extra but worth the $ 7. The bartenders and staff are always nice & on top of their game. Family & friends swear by the herb crusted salmon which I keep wanting to try but am too addicted to the filet. Love this place, my favorite– only 5 stars I’ve given.

I have eaten here at least 3 times when I used to live in Anaheim. Funny now that im doing this review after living in Vegas the last 5 years. Was in town for the week so I made it a point to come here before going home. The first time I ever came here years ago I got the 16 oz Ribeye($ 29). I told myself the next couple times I would get something else besides the ribeye. 4 visits later including this last one, I still havnt tried anything else they have. What makes their ribeye excellent is that they put some kind of ground peppercorn mix on it and they always seem to cook it perfect for me which is medium rare. It is dry aged 21 days and lightly marinated. It comes with mashed potatoes, grilled veggies and your choice of soup or salad. I ordered appetizers before and learned my lesson, The ribeye meal itself will definitely flil you up. Service for the most part is pretty good. This last visit, the soda I was given was flat. No carbonation at all. I had to ask about 3 times before our server finally replaced it with good soda. Parking is available on the street but the main parking is behind the restaurant. Upstairs they have a lounge where there are pool tables. Hours are 4 pm to 2 am everyday with dinner last served at 12 am. A little history. If you read this interesting article from the OC Register, it tells you how Stubrik’s got its name and how it came to be. Nice story. In closing, I will continue to come here on different occasions because the ribeye is amazing. Eventually I will order something different. Or not. Unilocal 2016 Review #26 598 overall

Downtown Fullerton is made up of so many shops and eateries that it’s definitely a Unilocalers delight. Stubrik’s is one of those spots that you want to try but you are distracted by the shiny lights and hyped up sounds of the surrounding hipster/rocker/college-is-cool bars. I was on my way to a YEE and my family on their way to Disneyland so we decided to have a pre– birthday dinner together at Stubrik’s before we ventured off on our separate ways. My birthday lasts throughout the month. It’s my favorite holiday :)) The mood of the restaurant is very dark and nostalgic. A steakhouse of the less pretentious kind. The bar is beautiful and they have the perfect list of scotch, rye/bourbon whiskey that would please any on-the-rocks glass lover. The service was really courteous and attentive always a plus for me. I ordered the ribeye med-rare and the cut was so thick! Juicy and full of flavor, my daughter ordered a chicken pasta dish that had artichoke, mushroom, spinach and it was my favorite dish of all. The beef stroganoff was also a large portion but not one of my favorites. Portions are huge here so next time we will probably choose to share. It’s a solid 3 star A-Ok as far as steak houses go but that fourth star is for the service and vibe of Stubrik’s.

#33/100 I know I have dined here many years ago but I failed to write some imperative details of my experience so perhaps it wasn’t as memorable? However, a GLOY outing brought us here for dessert. Yup. Dessert! We ordered– Banana foster was extremely savory and tasty. We polished it pretty good. Love all that creamy and caramelly stuff all over the perfectly not over riped bananas. Crab cakes were decent as well. May be it was too much dranking or dancing next door but we were pretty hongry. Steak fries was ok. A little bit heavy for me but served our carb cravings. Love all my GLOY outings — breakfast, brunch, dinner, dranks, desserts, dancing, karaōke, masages, waxing! Finding good eats would be icing on the cake!

Been wanting to come to this place for a long time. Unfortunately I picked Sunday night to try it out. Found two seats at the bar for my friend and I(thought I lucked out since it was valentine’s day evening) and the service was slow and terrible. I have to say that I work in the industry and know the difference between being busy and trying and just plain not trying at all. The bar staff was inattentive and negligent. We sat waiting for drinks, a menu, water, even silverware after our food came out for way too long. Dinner was ok, our filet mignon was spot on but the sides were luke warm. And the baked potato soup had under cooked potatoes in it. I don’t make it a habit to complain on Unilocal because that is just irritating and I even feel kind of bad for writing this review but seriously… those in charge need to be aware that bar service that night was completely unacceptable. I won’t be returning.

Decided to go this after reading reviews. We ordered calamari. I have not had this plain and bland calamari in my life. Salad was decent but my salmon bland too. The hostess was nice enough to acknowledge my complains and replace my dish but in the end charged me for both. We had to call the manager whose resolution was to cancel both dishes and me going home hungry. But ask me if I or any of my four friends would come here. So the answer will be no.

Super good food. Had the New York steak, asked for medium was still a little over done but still very tasty. Had cheesy bread for appetizer they were quite good. Service is awesome. Ally was our server and she did a great job. No room for desert after beer & wine. :)

My husband took me here for dinner. They have really nice(dark) ambience which makes for a romantic dinner — made us want to order wine. I love the place, the smells, the drink, the food, but I just hate waiting too long for the server. Lack of service can easily ruin an otherwise perfect night in town. We had steak and filet mignon which were very good. I love the seared edges and tender meat. The veggies were cooked just right and with the right amount of seasoning. This review just goes back to our server — please don’t make us feel ignored. We’d probably come back and hopefully have a nicer experience so I can give 5 stars.

Hidden yet easy to find. Right next to slidebar, Came for a late dinner, and enjoyed my experience. It was very dim lighting and rustic. Food: we had the ribeye steak, medium rare, cooked very well, nice and juicy in the middle. Had double mash potatoes and my future ex husband(lol) had the same except got fries. Merlot went well with the steak. Also the fully loaded potato soup was a great starter. Service: our waitress was a beautiful blond that looked like a Doll. She was really sweet and was helpful and checked up on us every 10 to 15 min. Decore’: two stories upstairs is more like a lounge and has pool tables, front room is the bar with plenty of tables and half booths. Center was all booths and one spare table. Lots of black and white framed photos, and a few sepia on the walls. I must say I felt like I was in an old wine cellar where wise guys would make certain deals having a cigar. Place is clean, restrooms is two stalls and pretty old school looking with modern auto flush. Great lighting for drunk selfies! Finally, in over all first time experience, I enjoyed having my late night dinner here with the love of my life! If you love your Red Meat, this is the place to check out. Plus you got til 2AM to self indulge.

Was told they didn’t take reservations… Had to wait a bit to get seated. Once seated, Lucy and Bryant provided excellent service. My Coke glass was rarely empty for very long. The ribeye was a perfect medium rare. However, my friend’s veal porterhouse was a little too well to be medium rare… But he woofed it down anyway. I’ll come back again soon.

Came here to meet up some friends on a Monday night. I think pool is free on Monday nights? That’s what it seemed like. So I just decided to grab a brew and hang out with some friends while they played pool. It was relatively empty. Downstairs where people ate was completely empty but it was about 10:30/11PM. The bar didn’t have seats, and up stairs was a little crowded. The place is a normally dim-lit bar. They have 3 pool tables upstairs that people were just rotating on. Had some couches around that area and some stools. It is in Downtown Fullerton which is always a busy place at night. Kind of easy to miss, but there is parking in the back! The music there was weird. It went through a FULL range of genre’s which didn’t quite set the mood right. I ended up trying the Smithwick’s Irish Ale which was pretty decent. Nicely tasting for a dark beer. It also wasn’t too pricy unless I am too used to the NorCal places. All in all, would possibly come back again some time, no rush though.

Had no idea there was steak place nearby workplace. Came here recently for a business dinner. It’s not a fancy steakhouse restaurant. It’s casual, has a good vibe and also has a bar! :) It’s located in the heart of downtown Fullerton. Parking seems alright during the weeknight. I was surprised how many people were eating here… on a weeknight! I’m not a big steak person however, I was definitely ready to try their steak for the experience(plus a free dinner right?). I ordered the filet mignon(well cooked and without the bacon wrapped). It comes with garlic mashed potatoes gravy and mix veggies.(Although most of us got a LOT of sliced carrots in our dishes. LOL) The filet mignon was decent! I cleaned up my plate pretty good.(And no more meat for a month.) We also ordered drinks. I had the Peach Palmer. Delicious and refreshing. Loved the lemon flavor. My co-worker ordered a Half Ass(aka 85 Cal Moscow Mule)(lol!!!) and boy did she enjoyed that one! It’s lime, Stolichnaya and diet Bundaberg Ginger Beer. All at reasonable prices. You can’t go wrong with that!

if you are craving some legit steaks… this is the place to be!!! Been coming here for dinner couple times now, I absolutely love this place!!! they do have good selections of other items on the menu, but you gotta try their steaks when you are here!!! the standard menu item for me is the newyork steak with steamed veggies and mash potatoes. the steaks are always perfectly cooked and the sides are yummy!!! for me personally, I think of this place as a steakhouse with the dive bar vibe. it’s a chill place to just hangout with close friends and family and enjoy some good food!!! p. s. Definitely try their«banana foster» if you still have room for dessert after all the drinking and eating!!! :p

It was Friday night, and after a long work week, my beau wanted steak, so off we were to a neighborhood place to get steak. We ended up at Stubrik’s at around 6:45−7PM. We found lucky parking close by, then headed inside to the host to get on the list. He handed us a colorful beeper and said the wait would be about 30 minutes. After heading the Amerikano to see if the menu might be better, we headed back to Stubrik’s and went to the lounge upstairs. We were greeted by poor lighting and small pool tables, and a sweet lady ready to take our drink and food order. We were quite hungry, so we opted for a few drinks and buffalo wings to get started. We took too long to decide what we wanted, so this one’s on us. After our food came, our table was ready, so beau headed downstairs to let them know I was finishing the wings. We were seated around 7:40PM, and the lady promptly took our orders since we had already decided upstairs what we wanted for dinner. He opted for the rare ribeye, and I, the Mahi Mahi(not herb crusted). We had our salads first, then at around 8:16PM, we were served our meals. Considering that we waited so long for our meals at the 8:00 shift(people clearing out already), one would think the food would at least be warm. Well, that’s all we got. Warm. Beau’s steak was so cold by the time he ate half of it, that he lost his appetite. That’s saying a lot since it’s a steak, and a fully grown man. If you take a look at the photo, any steak lover would know at first glance this wasn’t rare. This was a seared steak, cooked rare at the wrong temperature, in essence. The kicker for me though, a not-too-frequent steak eater I’ll say, was that this slab of so-called premium meat didn’t even bleed. I mean, I’m not even convinced this thing was ever alive, really. All steaks should bleed. Even tartare has a bit of blood. My Mahi Mahi was alright. As expected for the price we paid, sure. The warmest thing on the plate was my mashed potatoes though, not sure how that happens since the Mahi was on top of the potatoes… Anyway, like a good customer, I advised that we should let the server know. We didn’t really want anything out of it, but it was because I wanted to see how they would deal with it. We hailed a bus boy over to tell him about the steak, but then he was quickly shooed away when our waitress returned. «I can talk with the manager directly,» she said. We went over how poorly made and cold the steak was, and the waitress returned by saying that rare steak was cold, and that they would gladly put it back on the grill to re-heat it. They also suggested we take it home and microwave it. What? Are you serious? It’s a rare steak. 1. How can you mess up a rare steak and 2. How can you even suggest those options given that it’s a rare steak? I mean, we might have Asian genes and look young, but considering we do an ample amount of cooking at home, to be told this to our faces. It’s just like. What?! She didn’t even apologize, or let us know she would gladly talk to a manager and see what they could do. Nothing. I’m just appalled. I even took two extra days to think this review over, and I still don’t understand her response. At all. At the very very very least, she didn’t even offer to have it remade. Of course we weren’t going to sit there and eat another steak, but really? I’m really sorry that we’ll never come back again, because the lady who helped us upstairs in the lounge was so amazing, and I just can’t believe we were treated that way on the floor. Stubrik’s needs to go over how to train their employees, and also apparently how to make a rare steak. Or when to serve it. I dunno if this means anything to anybody, but we didn’t see any Asians in there the whole night. I’m not sure if this has anything to do with anything, but overall, we just weren’t treated very well at dinner, considering we spent almost $ 100 at this restaurant. Unilocal, you let me down.

2nd time customer, here… Came with a boy toy, for dinner, on a Friday night. We waited about 20 minutes, but had a relaxing time upstairs, with a drink in hand. Our bartender was Dennis. Adorable personality and quick service. The drinks were strong(Cape Cod & a Vodka/7Up). The upstairs area has a few pool tables, albeit run down, but a very nice stool/counter area, and many couches/tables. For dinner, he and I ordered the 8 oz Black & Blue Top Sirloin. The Blue Cheese and gravy, were so yummy. It came with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. We also got the green salad and a cheesecake for dessert. The food was right on temp, brought out at a reasonable time, and the quantity was just enough. The band for the night, was also fantastic. The Radio Rebels are an 80’s cover band and they kept the house jumping. Great place, great vibe, great food, great time. Check it out!

They serve decent steaks here. You’ll have to go to a finer steakhouse to get better steaks. Service was good. Our waitress was always checking up on us routinely. She was also able to give us all separate checks when it came time to pay the bill. Parking can be a bit scarce as the parking lot is shared with several restaurants and bars. It is located just across from the Fullerton Metrolink station. *Grey Goose Martini* I ordered my usual pre-dinner drink, a dry dirty Grey Goose martini. It was good, made just the way I like it. *New York Steak* Sometimes leaner cuts of beef is not very tasty with the lack of fat, but this steak was pretty tasty cooked medium rare. Before the steak came out, there was a small cup of potato soup. Then when the steak was brought out, it came with garlic mashed potatoes with gravy and seasoned vegetables.

Went here with the work squad to celebrate a good month end. I know it’s a steakhouse, but I got the lemon pepper chicken and it was delicious! Everything just melted in your mouth. It comes with a generous helping of vegetables and rice, and the vegetables are literally doused with olive oil and butter so it just tastes amazing. My coworkers all got ribeye, and they all raved about it. Everything is a good price, and it all comes in good portions. Plus everything comes with a soup or salad, so you’re definitely going to be full after. But the best part? Get the bananas foster. Ridiculously good. But I would recommend splitting it – we all got one and couldn’t finish it :(

Omg delicious piece of steak get in my mouth. I love love steak but it’s hard to find a place that’s affordable in price. I Unilocaled this place and had it bookmarked for a while. I finally felt like I deserved a piece steak so I wanted to give this place a try and I’m so happy I did. It’s right smack in the middle of downtown Fullerton right next to slide bar. On a week day there’s a good amount of parking. The restaurant has a little bit more of a bar vibe. The waitress was super friendly. We got the garlic cheese bread which was okay I just felt like all I tasted was cheese on top of sour dough bread nothing special. I had the 8oz filet mignon stuffed with blue cheese wrapped in bacon and with a blue cheese burgundy sauce God was it glorious. I felt like I died and went to heaven. It tasted so much better than what I had at Ruth Chris and my wallet loved it even more. I definitely got full with the steak, load bake potato soup(super good), mash potato, and grilled veggies. My boyfriend got 16oz ribeye which was good but it was lacking something maybe cause he got it medium. It was crusted in pepper and seasoning. I love the steak and the prices so much. I’ll definitely come back to try the porterhouse. Stubrik’s my wallet and stomach thanks you.

My husband and I are steak fanatics but did not want to go to our normal Ruth’s Chris for dinner. We were nearby and decided to try this place out. Not sure if it was the GPS or us but it was a bit difficult for us to find on the main street. The only way we found the place was driving through the back parking lot area. We entered through the back. A server encouraged us to choose our own seats since it was open seating(cool). We sat close to the back entrance since the booths were long, nice and the area was quiet. Moments after sitting down, I thought to myself… oh great, we are never going to be noticed back here. It was completely away from the bar and service area where the servers were. I already began fretting to my husband and questioning whether or not we should go sit near the bar for better service. As I was muttering to him… a nice young lady came over, welcomed us and took our order(thank goodness. I will not starve to death). I got the ribeye and my husband got the bacon wrapped filet. The entrees came with a side salad and two sides. We both ordered ceasar salads and an additional order of cheesy bread. Our salads arrived fairly quick and man, oh man it was delicious. The cheesy bread came next and man, it was another delicious side. Crunch on the outside. soft on the inside with nicely toasted cheese on the top. When the orders came, I was super, duper excited to eat my steak. It was a beautiful masterpiece and the mixed veggies were even cut into flower or clover like shapes 9very nice touch). Steak + mash= heavenly. The steaks were cooked to perfection and we savored each and ever bite. To be honest, I would glady choose this over Ruth’s Chris since it comes with a side salad and two sides. Very great quality food, great service and will definitely be a returning customer.

Came here to celebrate my birthday with friends. This was a nice little hole in the wall steak bar in downtown fullerton. It looks pretty small but it’s pretty long and it’s two stories. Everyone was really nice, and like any hole in the wall it’s quite packed in together so it’s kinda hard to move around. I got the top sirloin 12 oz and it was more than enough. It came with a salad, mashed potatoes(generous portion and they were ), and vegetables. My friends top sirloin came out kinda burnt on the outside but they still made up for it because it was still good on the inside. The price is pretty decent for a steak house and the portions are pretty generous. If you want a Caesar salad though you’ll need to pay a little extra. And the salad comes with peanuts so be careful if you’re allergic. Lady kept constantly refilling my drink. She didn’t bug us too much but she rationed her time with us. There were quite a lot of people but yet we were served pretty fast and we didn’t have to wait too long for anything. I would really recommend coming here if the other steakhouses are not within your budget but you still want to treat your friend or spouse/or whoever to a nice meal.
