Foods good over priced. But the service is horrible lady seems bitter and writes orders on paper bags looks like chicken scratch. Then got our order wrong. come on I don’t blame you for getting my order wrong when you can’t read your own writing lol

DONOTEATHERE. Take your business anywhere else(I recommend All Star or Dinos off Jarvis). Not only is This place a run down dump inside and the lady working the counter is rude and unfriendly, but the food is the poorest quality. I ordered 5 cheeseburgers and 5 corn dogs, a family fry and chocolate milk shake. Please see pictures of 4 of the corn dogs burnt even down to the hot dog itself(how do you burn a corndog?) And the burger that looked like the mean Asian lady took a bite out of it. The milkshake sucked too. Can’t even call this food. Ive been going here for years and it’s only gotten worse. They have lost my business along with my family and friends. If only they allowed zero stars.

So the lady at the register not too friendly but she got my order quick. Its an old school greasy hamburger loving place when your just in the mood for some artery clogging food. The ¼ bacon cheeseburger was to die for! And the really liked the vanilla shake. The fries needed salt and were ok. But I would go back for the burgers any day I dont care about calories

There was an Asian lady working there and she was very curt with my female friend and I. She was not the same way with patrons that were not Black. She presented herself as open and served them with kindness. She acted as if she didn’t want to look at and/or talk to either of us. We had to ask her for toilet paper for the bathroom, she kind of just tossed a partially used roll on the counter, still not really attentive or anything. The bathroom was nasty, the sink was stopped up and it was not a good experience. We needed ketchup which was not out on the counter, so she again through that on the counter. I hate to say it was a race thing, but it was. That’s a shame in the 21st century. The burger had the nerve to be average no frills after that type of service. Grew up on Chubby Burger’s from another area, wanted one, so we tried this place. NEVERAGAIN

The owner is so rude! So I ordered my chilli cheese fries because I was hungry and me and my friends came here just for a pit stop. No attitude or anything! But I knew from before this lady was rude because I came here before. But I work in retail and I can’t put on a mean face so I was being so nice and I got my food and I found a hair in it. I kind asked her if I can have another order because I found a hair in my food and she told me no because she wanted me to pick up the hair off the floor because I threw it. And then after I just told her could I have my money back because I only had like 1 bite off the fries and she told me no again and then I got loud(which I should have) then I told her I’m not gonna not get my money back for not eating your food! Then she decides to call the cops on me because. I don’t really know. Oh and mind you she wasn’t wearing a hairnet :/idk if she’s food handler certified but I worked in a restaurant and our thing was customers are always right… I’m so disappointed. I wouldn’t suggest this place unless you want hair in your food or not get your money back

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Save your money, time, and appetite! I had never stopped by or eaten here before but thought I’d give it try. NEVEREVEREVERAGAIN! I called in my order and the person I spoke to sounded very absent minded and lacking any brain cells or brain activity at all! That was my first warning sign and should of just passed on giving it a try but shrugged it off. I pick up my order and again the person I spoke to was brainless, dazed, and slow. I asked if they have milkshakes and he stared and said ummmm??? … Then nodded yes after some time. I then asked how long it would be to make a milkshake(note: the place was COMPLETELYEMPTY! … I was the only customer inside) he answered … Ummmmm??? Then after a few seconds mumbled 5 – 10 mins. WTF? Who takes 5 – 10 mins for a milkshake? I replied never mind and his response was … Wait, what flavor? … AGAIN, WTF?! Why would the flavor of chose change the amount of time to blend a milkshake. Soooo dumb! I finished paying and headed home. When I opened the bag the fries were on top smushing what I guess is supposed to be my «cheeseburger» … This THING not«cheeseburger» … I wouldn’t even donate or feed it to someone less fortunate than I! God forbid anybody get sick off of this nasty mystery meat! … YES ppl it’s that BAD! DONOTDONOTDONOTEATHERE! I will be making a formal complaint to Alameda County Restaurant Inspection but would like to warn any curious tummies! KEEPSCROLLINGON Unilocal, or KEEPDRIVING!

Stopped by here the other day after a few months absence. They must have changed ownership because the cook and counter person are now different. The counter person was too interested in his smartphone to wait on us and we were the only ones in the joint. After waiting, my wife ordered a root beer float. The man said they don’t have any. HUH? I replied, do you have ice cream and he said yes. I asked him if he had root beer and he said yes. I said, then you have root beer floats. WTF. Then he turned around and looked at the menu on the wall and mumbled something about price or size. It’s a sad day in America when you don’t know what a root beer float is and you’re working in a place that serves floats, freezes, sundaes, etc. I’m surprised he knew how to put vanilla ice cream in a cup for my kid. I was hungry, but decided to forgo ordering any food for obvious reasons. I just wanted to get the hell out of there. I would frequent this place, because it is an old school drive in that is slowly disappearing from our culture. I guess hot dogs, hamburgers, and apple pie will soon be replaced too. I won’t be coming back to Chubby’s anymore. What a shame.

The food was meh. Nothing special. Not great, not terrible. Meh. Worse than the food was the ambiance. It is a throwback to the old burger joints, since that’s what it is, but so much worse in every way. It was seriously depressing! Besides myself, there was only one other customer here at noon on a Saturday?! and only one employee working, too. Not very encouraging. Also, they’ve got a «Conditional Pass» score from the health department… never seen one of those before… kinda wish I didn’t see it, too. According to , it means they could be a week away from being shut down for multiple major violations. Anyway, I still ate the food and have no ill effects to show from it, thankfully! BONUSTIP: If you do actually eat here, which I don’t really recommend, the combo meals are actually a good deal! Like a sucker, I ordered a burger, fries, and a Coke — individually, as opposed to ordering the combo — and it turns out I could’ve saved a buck or two with a combo meal. Would’ve been nice if the cashier pointed that out, but customer service doesn’t seem high on their list…

Lady was super rude chomping on her gum and talking to some man sitting on the side while I was ordering. Tried to ask her why she was charging me so much but didn’t want to answer me so I asked her again and she seemed annoyed with me and said tax. But I know that tax is not THAT much.(She wanted to charge me over $ 8 for something that was $ 5.99) I was simply asking a question and she was super rude.

Back in the day, when I was a kid, I probably chubby from eating a few too many Chubby Burgers. It’s interesting to revisit this place as an adult, things that taste good during childhood usually do not taste the same whether from changes in quality or changes in your tastebuds. I can tell you that this place is as good today as it was in the 1980’s. Why? Because this place serves classic, old school, California hamburgers. What makes a classic California hamburger? «Secret sauce» and onion sauce. I can’t remember when was the last time I had a burger with that ketchup(and maybe tomato paste?) and diced onion concoction. I’m glad that Chubby Burgers still exist. It’s too often that long time small businesses are edged out by chains and rising costs, or alternatively, taking one shortcut too many and killed their quality. Here, I just wish they used better beef in the burger patties instead of hamburger patties from Restaurant Depot.

Not great at all… The place definitely is small, needs some renovation. Their house sauce is just a Long Island sauce, like what they have at in n out(spread). So, their house sauce isn’t really unique. They use the same oil that was left out 2 hours earlier to make your burger. And for their fries I notice has been sitting there for the longest time. And as a result it gets frail and not crunchy anymore. So when I order fries as a side, they just basically put it back in the fryer and serve it again(AINTFRESH). I can easily make the same burgers served here.

Love to stop by every once in awhile for a Chubby Burger and Fries fix. Don’t like the undisclosed 75 cent debit card fee added to the tab so minus 1 Star

When I think of burgers growing up in the 80s I think of flat top grills and grease. Chubby burgers takes me to this childhood place. I was amazed by the décor and felt I was back in the 80s. I had the Bacon Chubby Burger and got what I expected. The bread, meat, and veggies were fresh. The meat was not over seasoned but was cooked well done. The frozen fries were a little soft and tasted under seasoned and under done. The wonderful lady working the register was the cook, prep, and cashier. She even tackled making milkshakes in between making the burgers. The milkshake at Chubby burgers is a 4⁄5 not too sweet and the serving was enough for the price. I would go back to Chubby burgers for the burger and milk shake but I would skip the fries.

I hadn’t known about this place until my boyfriend introduced me to it. And I didn’t know how empty my life was until then. The burgers are good but the fries and shakes make this place worth coming back to time and time again. I don’t think that there’s much else that needs to be said. Some people just don’t like fries and shakes and I won’t waste anyone’s time. Oh but if you’re really hungry and you’re getting a box of the fries, don’t get anything else. I made the mistake of getting a burger with it and even with my monstrous appetite, I wouldn’t finish it all. But it was still so amazing. Bring cash if you don’t want to pay the surcharge!!!

I use to go to this place almost everyday when I was in Jr high school. Use to love to get a milkshake and play the old arcade games and get candy or gum from the machines for a quarter. I remember there use to be an Asian guy that worked there probably the owner of the place. He was nice and he was a great cook! One thing I remember as a kid is their bathroom always being vandalized with graffiti. I always found it funny, I don’t know if this is still the case. Lol I went here recently after 5 years and I think ownership has changed. Got a milkshake like the good old days and it didn’t taste the same. Made me kind of sad. It was watered down and just wasnt as good. The old pinball machine was gone as well which was a personal let down. I tried the food and it’s still the same as before, its delicious! Better than any burger you get at a fast food place around that area. I went around lunch time so the place was really busy and it took a long time for my food to get ready. Regardless, this place is still pretty good and their food is delicious. ****They have this deal 5 cheeseburgers, for approximately $ 6 – 7. They are small but good. Its a good deal if you’re with a friend that has no money and you’re hungry. You can eat 3 and it will fill you up and your friend can have 2 ;) ****

I was pleasantly surprised. In between work and a volleyball for school the admin team stopped in here for a bite. The shrimp was fried/cooked perfectly. I love crinkle fries! The mayo sauce that accompanied the shrimp was decent. Friendly staff and quick service! They accept credit card which is a plus. Must go back and try a burger… but those shrimp are calling!
