When your enjoying all the walking around Fredricksburg stop by this place it is completely unique and breaks up the homogeny of the rest of the town. The owner is sometimes behind the bar she is very friendly. It’s dark cozy and serves liquor and it’s all about rock and roll and metal what’s not to like.

Expensive and«nicht so gut» Bloody Marys. We walked into an empty bar and the service was still bad.

A great addition to Fredericksburg. Comfortable bar with a friendly owner /bartender, originally from Luxembourg.

There is no finer place in Texas to sit down, have a strong cocktail, hang out with friends, and listen to the kind of music that is never played on mainstream radio. The two sisters who own and run this bar are lovely people — friendly, inventive bartenders who love to chat up the patrons — or leave them alone if that’s what they want. This is the one place we always end up at in F’berg, simply because it’s got the greatest vibe.

This is the ONLY place to go in the hill country if you want to listen to metal. Good drinks, great people and awesome live music!

Such a surprise to see this type of bar in Fredericksburg. It has a dive bar feel and they play heavy metal music, but not at an annoying decibel. It is run by two German women. Great place to check out on Main Street.

We were trying to look for a good bar near our hotel that was still opened and we saw this one. The bar is more of a «rock and metal» vibe. I’m not a big fan of that but my fiancé is. It was clean and properly taken care of. The drinks were great and with good reasonable price. The owner was very friendly!

Cool bar plays metal music but not loud, you can still have a conversation. Drinks are good !

The owner was interesting to talk to. She is from Luxembourg. She and her sister fell in love with the little German town of Fredericksburg, so they opened this metal bar. The music is loud enough to hear, but you can carry on a conversation. Owners have a true love for metal, despite occasionally playing mainstream rock. We talked about the concerts she went to in Germany. I loved feeling like I was transported to Europe for a bit! Drinks were great, and the décor was refreshing after all that country & modern décor all over town.

This place is badass. Super reasonable drink prices, and one of the only places to drink late on Main Street if you’re a toursit. Love the German bartender and the dimly lit ambience. Good mix of classic and modern rock.

Fredricksburg gets an A+ for having a rock n roll bar. They call themselves a metal bar. I don’t know. They had some metal, but also had good rock n roll. So, don’t worry about head banging and ear drums bleeding. It’s not like that. Didn’t hear any screamo. But, on the positive side, how many bars will play Rammstein? That was cool. The drinks were reasonably priced. The music wasn’t too loud. You could comfortably carry on a conversation. But, if you wanted to stop to listen, it was plenty loud to enjoy the tunes. Being in the middle of nowhere, I don’t know what kind of crowd to expect. But, it seemed like normal everyday people that don’t care for country music, which is mostly all you can find in this part of Texas, hang out here. I loved the bar, the people were cool, the atmosphere was great. If, out of some crazy weird whim, I’m back in Fredricksburg, TX, I’ll be hanging in this bar.

When I heard there was a metal bar in Fredericksburg, I thought, «Now THAT has to be the most odd yet fun concept for a business in Fredericksburg I’ve ever heard!» So naturally, we had to try it out. Sadly, it wasn’t what we were expecting. When we walked in, I guess I was expecting lots of metal music coming in over the speakers, but instead we heard — Green Day? Some other ‘00s pop rock/“punk” bands? I think I also expected more metal memorabilia, but it was basically just Metallica and Wolfmother posters(and other metal bands) stuck haphazardly on the dark walls and ceiling. Not everyone can afford a metal memorabilia collection, though, so I’m not going to hold it against them for that, but I guess I was thinking it’d look less like a metalhead teenager’s bedroom. The drink prices were reasonable, and the location was great(perfect hideaway for husbands/boyfriends looking for a respite from the cutesy shopping boutiques lined along Main Street), but I was pretty surprised at the lack of actual metal music being played. Maybe we just came in on a weird night? We’ll give it another try when we’re back in town, because it sounds like the owners are cool people and the overall vibe of the place is pretty friendly, so I’d like to give it another shot!

I really liked this place. 4.5 stars The owners work the bar and are cool to chat with. The décor, cleanliness, and seating are spot-on. The chairs have lower back support so they’re really comfy. The décor is rock-themed and tastefully done. Rock music playing at the perfect volume for conversing without the need to shout. The only thing that threw me were the covers on all the alcohol bottles. This is typically done for overnight storage and removed for service… but I also saw this at another bar in Fredericksburg, so I wonder if that’s a thing they do. It’s a more appetizing display without them. I was very happy to see the bartender cut off an annoying guy that had too much to drink. This was a really nice break from the typical Fredericksburg with all of the elements you’d expect from a quality bar. I was also excited to hear Rammstein over the stereo :)

We are not at all Metal fans and do not even own Metal music, but this bar is the best on Main Street. It is clean and comfortable. Their full bar selection is excellent — great beer, higher end liquor, good selection of wine, and coffee. The service is awesome, Carol our bartender was very welcoming. I would consider this the hidden gem of Main Street.

Gives Fredericksburg another dimension. Because Fredericksburg can be rather one-dimensional…most visit for quaint B&B’s, shopping and food… This place is actually run by recent European immigrants(Luxembourg) so its fitting they’ve settled and started a business there. It’s different and a great place to grab a drink.

Only been open for a while. Talked to one of the owners who is a total metal head! Yaaaaay! Was totally shocked when we walked in off of Main St. After spending 2 days in all of the F*Burg quaint shops and German restaurants, Der Daiwel was kind of like suddenly stepping into another place. Very much a BAR. Cool posters/signs. Dim lighting… lots of red… felt kind of hellish. in a good way. Friendly bartender, good drink selection. Upscale divey feel. Rock on!

Totally unexpected place for a town such as Fredericksburg! This is definitely the place to go if you want to disconnect for a while. The place is run by three Luxembourgers who have a real passion for their bar, music and the US. They have local and international beers and spirits you want find in other places in town. Don’t let the Metal posters or skeletons impress you, everybody is welcome here and it is the place to go for a late night drink.

The best bar in Fredericksburg Tx. Try the vodka caramel shots, they are delicious!!! They have homemade gluhwein, local beer on draft, Guinness on draft and an amazing Irish coffee. Plus they play everything metal from Amon Amarth to led zeppelin, a great place to meet local musicians!!! Drink up and enjoy
