A gift from Japan. These is really so neat; however, sadly the grounds are not very well kept. The grass needs a lot of care, the trees and bushes need trimmed. The fountain is broken and empty. :( Portions of the small park were fenced off, so perhaps maintenance is planned for the near future. I truly hope so.

Absolutely gorgeous. This is one of my many inspirations for my photography as well. A gift given to the US from Japan and it has definitely been kept up well throughout the years. It also represents ying and yang, which is why you also see the raked zen garden within the garden itself. If you follow the path up to the study, look for a stand with a button on it and you’ll hear a recorded voice tell you all about the place. The entrance is off the side of the Nimitz Museum — I didn’t even know the place existed until I was looking for a certain business and walked past the open wood gate.
