The furniture it the clearance room is top notch at great prices. But if you dont like feeling like you are buying a car with high pressure sales… good luck. Walking in I B-​Lined past this little asian woman… she chased me down… this is our interaction–
Asian: hello sir
Me: I dont need help
Asian: we’re supposed to greet people

Asian: have you been here before

Me: Didnt i say I dont need help
Asian: so you want to be left alone

I then walked into the clearance room to buy a couch. I had gone in to buy a couch. Minutes later i was rudely interrupted by asian woman again. This time toting a framed photograph — yearbook style photos in rows and columns.
Asian: They wont let me talk to other shoppers until you tell me who worked with you.
Me: I dont know.
Asian: look at this photo can you pick the person who helped you?
Me: I dont know.
Asian: man or woman
Me: Man
Asian: point to the one who helped you
Me: I dont know, i ignored him too. Here I’ll pick one. (Pointed)
Asian: thats Doug. He doesnt work in furniture.
Me: pick one that works in furniture
Asian: I’m not supposed to
Me: well i give you permission… are we done here.
Asian: yes
So I looked at pretty furniture whipped out my phone and Unilocalped while still on the scene. Macys — i went in to buy a sofa ottoman and some comfy chairs. Instead all you got from me was a lousy review and someone who instead will suggest Bernie & Phyls to all my friends down the road.
Asian woman — you are annoying. Macys — there are people who want to shop and find someone when ready — treat those shoppers with the respect they ask for.

I had a great shopping experience. The prices were reasonable and there were plenty of apartment sized sofas. It took six days to be delivered in the color we wanted.

My wife and I noticed a beautiful 2 piece hutch (bottom buffet and upper hutch) in clearance one day, but it was being sold with a dining room table and 6 chairs. We didn’t need the table set so asked a salesman if I could buy just the hutch, and he told me it was only as a set. I called the next day, hoping to get a different answer, but was told they were a pair again. We noticed it dropped in price then finally was able to buy separate from the table and chairs after I spoke with the manager (who was very professional). I set it up to pick up myself about 2 weeks later. I brought my trailer and a ton of blankets and bubble wrap to pack it in. When I arrived, they had it all packed up in styrofoam, bubble wrap and tape — extremely secure. Much more than I anticipated.
Kudos to Macy’s for having a great receiving staff and being able to coordinate everything. I’ll be back again!

The sales experience was fine at the store, but the aftermath was beyond horrible. The delivery guys played games, and tried to make sure you didn’t inspect the furniture and answered the satisfaction survey for you themselves on the phone. They left the plastic covers on the chairs which were impossible to remove. I called back the customer service on the phone and they said the drivers were too far and couldn’t come back to do the correct job. And I told them I had a dinner party tonight and they had to escalate so he transferred me to Y. Corie who was the rudest person, and I wonder how did she get the customer service supervisor job. She asked me whether I had a pair of scissors and why couldn’t I cut the plastic off myself. I told her I paid for your 5 Star White Glove delivery service which you were supposed to remove all packing materials, and it took a heavy duty cutter to cut it and I don’t have the tool. She was like why not, cut it slowly. Totally unreal, rude, and completely disregards customers. I bought tons of stuffs from Restoration Hardware and this would be the first and last time for Macy’s. Restoration Hardware’s customer service is courteous and fast and always customer #1. If there’s any issues, no questions asked, items will be exchanged or money will be refunded. Macy’s treats their customers like dirt, no wonder the stock price tanked.

This store has some nice items. However, the sales clerks are like vultures. As soon as you enter the store, one of them is assigned to you and you are stuck with that person forever. They follow you around the store and there’s high anxiety over making a sale. They are super territorial. You can’t ask any of the other associates questions. If you happen visit later, they will hound you over who has helped you in the past. It’s a super annoying experience. It makes me dread walking into the store.

The absolute worst. If I could subtract stars I would. Anything that could go wrong did. I shopped for new couches in August and was told delivery would be second week of September. The color was not a special order. The second week of September I get notice that the couches will be in at the end of October because they are back ordered. I went in to speak with the manager because the sales rep, Alex, had promised delivery within three weeks of the original order. Robert, the manager told me how sorry he was and said he would credit a $ 100 to the account. Last week of October I get delivery of two couches. But they are the wrong color. Yep, another trip to the store to see Robert. He again is so sorry and our new couches will be in November 23. Well they came in November 23^rd but one is ripped and the new one won’t be replace until December 14. And to top it off, I have been charged for two sets of couches, the wrong ones first delivered and the right ones with the torn couch. I have also been charges a late payment fee and two delivery fees. But Robert Scott is very sorry. DO NOT SHOP HERE.

Worst experience ever!!! If i had not loved the furniture we had purchased i would have never continued with the sale along with contacting the better business bureau and the attorney general. Purchased item to receive a call GM the following day that the incorrect tags were on the item and that i would need to pay the difference after i already bought the item 24 hours earlier! Seriously, couldn’t believe the balls this guy had to call me to actually follow through with saying that they sold me the furniture at the incorrect price!
I hate this place so much, but loved the furniture. This stores moto should be «screw the customers as they will only shop here once and never again»

The furniture here is beautiful, but the ancient and slow sales people and horrid customer service, and ridiculous lack of logistics on Macy’s part for working with 3^rd party vendors, confirms that I will NEVER BUY FURNITURE HERE AGAIN. I bought thousands of dollars worth of furniture in July — couch, love seat, chair, dining set, coffee table and two end tables. At first the deliver date was end of mid-​august. Then I got a phone call saying the coffee table and end tables wouldn’t get delivered until December! I ended up cancelling the coffee table and end tables because it wasn’t worth waiting for. The living set and dining set ended up coming begining of September and the dining table arrived damaged. So I didn’t accept it and now I’m waiting on the next one. I’ve literally called Macy’s customer service and told them how much I hate them and they won’t do anything to make it better, no sense of urgency, no compensation for the thousands of dollars. Macy’s should stick to what they do best, and make clothes, because they no SHIT about coordinating deliveries and logistics with furniture vendors.

INCOMPETENCE AND TERRIBLE SERVICE. I don’t know where to begin… My wife and I ordered a bedroom set, and gave them six weeks to deliver. Six weeks later, the bedroom set shows up, missing all of the bolts and screws needed to put the bed together as well as the dresser mirror that we purchased as part of the bedroom set. Looking back, I’m surprised the rest of the set showed up in decent shape. We call customer service and they say they can get everything resolved for us the next week.
Fast forward to the next week — mirror shows up, but bolds/​screws are missing. After wasting a ton of time with customer support, and another couple of weeks of waiting, we get a box containing the hardware needed to put the bed together. Sounds good, right?
About a week later, Macy’s sends their delivery people to put the bed together. They take a look at the hardware and note that the hardware we received is incomplete. So basically it is status quo or they can PARTIALLY build the bed. TO SUMMARIZE: it has now been over 2 months since our original purchase, delivery people have shown up at our house 3 TIMES and (a) we still do not have a bed to use, (b) we still do not have the hardware we need, and © there is no end in sight to all of this.
I have filed a dispute with my credit card company to stop Macy’s from getting paid… which is the first time I’ve ever had to do that in the decade-​plus that I have had a credit card. If the service is this bad when Macy’s hasn’t been paid yet, I can’t imagine how awful it would be if they already had our money in hand.
I’m sad to say that I will never purchase anything else from this place… and I’m somewhat in shock because this is the second bedroom set I bought from here, and my experience the first time around (a few years ago) was totally positive.

I am in the middle of a nightmare with Macy’s Furniture Gallery.
Purchase a leather chair for $ 800.
First chair was delivered and improperly «assembled». It was jammed together to get the back on, so «assembled» might not be doing them justice. It took a month to get them to re-​deliver another chair and that is when the real fun started.
The delivery people arrived. They failed to hand over the Macy’s 5 Star Service Paper describing how they would be careful and use precautions to protect my floor and other belongings. They failed to wear shoe protectors.
The attempted to disassemble the first chair. They tipped it forward. I offered them a blanket to protect the floor. They declined and stated they were professions and had been doing this for a long time so did not need the blanket. They gave up on disassembling the first chair and brought in the parts to the second chair.
I offered them a blanket again to set up the chair on to protect the floor. They again declined the blanket. I then provided the blanket and MADE them work on top of it to assemble the new chair. They failed to follow the instructions to assemble the chair. The instructions state that the back should be installed, the Velcro flap on the recliner should be attached and then the feet should be attached. I had to make them follow the instructions. I thought all was well since the new chair was now set up on the blanket I had forced them to use and no damage had been done to the floor.
Upon completing the assembly of the new chair, they proceeded to work on removing the old chair. Since the back would not come off the first chair they had to awkwardly try to recline the chair and then lift it in the reclined position to get it out of the door.
AS THEY LIFTED AND ROTATED THE FIRST CHAIR, MY HEART SANK. That horrible noise was made when you hear two pieces of wood scraping together. I knew either the floor or the first chair was damaged, but not sure which.
Did the floor win?
Did the leg of the chair win?
The leg of the chair being returned won.
The 1 year old maple floor lost, so I have a new 6 inch long scratch/​gouge in the middle of a pre-​finished ¾″ maple floor that I installed.
I informed the delivery person of the damage as soon as he put the chair down outside. He came inside, took a picture of the damage and provided me with the route number and the names of his two man crew and indicated that they had insurance and would make it right.
I also took a picture of the damage.
I called Macy’s furniture store. I spoke to someone there for a while and they try to get me to connect with somebody at their call center to file the damage claim. I was provided a number to call and an extension, but the sales person did not realize that that number would not work from my phone at the current time and so I wasted 30 minutes trying to navigate the menus and get through to the extension.
After wasting time trying to call a number that was not going to work, I finally had time to look at the new chair they delivered. It was not in good shape. The leather was damaged by shipping I think.
I received a voicemail informing me of the 1−888−822−6229 number and that I should talk to Naomi/​Niomi. I called the number on Monday and was informed after holding for more time that she did not work on Monday and that I would get a call back. I never got a call back. She managed to call my fiancé, but I never got a call. I gave the person my number.
So finally today, I called to make sure the 3^rd chair was going to be delivered and check in on the progress of the damage claim against the floor.
I was told the damage claim had been DENIED. Really? I didn’t get a call letting me know. Thanks Macy’s Furniture Gallery for sucking at customer service. They claimed that the delivery people claim that the floor was already damaged. Wow. Thanks for lying to cover up your mistake.
So to wrap up, I started with $ 800. so far I have wasted 2 Saturdays waiting on broken furniture and will have to waste another Sunday waiting again for hopefully not broken furniture. HAD MY MAPLE FLOOR DAMAGED BY THE DELIVERY PEOPLE and HAD THE CLAIM DENIED FOR NO REASON! I have spent hours on phone, been given phone numbers and extensions that don’t work and in the end all I wanted was a chair.
If you have to buy furniture from Macy’s Furniture Gallery, have the delivery people set up the furniture outside, spend 20 minutes inspecting it, and get some friends you trust or respectable movers to move the stuff inside.

This has to be the worst customer service I have ever Had. I have dealt with 5 different people in the past 2 weeks only to be told 5 different stories. I have been on the phone over 6 hours in the past 2 weeks. And my issues were not resolved correctly. I highly recommend that you run! not walk past this place when your considering on purchasing furniture. As a company you really have to piss me off for me to bother to write a bad review… And Macy’s has won the Grand prize of my negative review.:)

Went in looking for some furniture to put inside our new home. Presidents day week sale had some ok offers. your not supposed to use your credit cards or open a new account at all during the process of closing on a home. The sales person told us it wouldn’t affect us as its not «charged» on your card until the delivery date.
Does that mean the «Pending» sale and credit to debt ratio on my credit score isn’t going to show up either? I think not sir. I prefer not to loose our new house over a «couch» just cause you want to make a sale.
They also made it seems like the sale on the couch was going to end after this weekend, it was not as the sale is for another 3 weeks, after our move in date which we told him.
Wonder if they make commission on sales and warranties… hmm

So bad has gotten worse, 2 damaged rugs delivered to my home, still waiting for the credit for the rugs, topped by inept salespeople who take over 30 min to process the return of the rug pads. As soon as I get my refund, I am closing my account. I have been appalled by every manager and sales person that I have interacted with. Avoid this store!

I actually have not bought any furniture from Macy’s so far but taking a quick look at the furniture when I went there to shop for RUGS, I could see the furniture prices are surprisingly low and since I had just shopped for some furniture I had some benchmark in mind. Anyways, my fiancé and I went to shop for rugs and there was a great deal going and we found a really beautiful rug with classic persian design at a great price. We are both so happy with our new living room rug.

simply stated, this is the largest macy’s furniture store in the area. trust me. downtown, south shore plaza, auburn — all smaller in terms of furniture. this one, as opposed to the macy’s in the natick mall, is *just* furniture and mattresses. they don’t have everything that’s in the catalog, but if you want to see something in person to get a sense for it, this is the place to go, and this is the reason i went.
sales staff is pretty good — a guy my wife spoke to about a specific piece of furniture remembered the call nearly a week later when we strolled in. nice guy. helped us sort through the 461 gift cards we brought in without any grumbles.
sales staff waaaaay outnumbered the customers when we went in on a warm saturday afternoon. we got the, «hi. looking for anything in particular?» line a number of times as we ran the track around the perimeter of the store, but no one was pushy when we said we were just looking.
it did take a while for the furniture to arrive — over a month — but it was a large item that they don’t stock in quantity, and our salesperson let us know the date we could expect it in before we bought, so we knew we were in for a wait.
look, it’s macy’s. it’s not an heirloom, but it isn’t ikea, either. wait for one of their frequent sales. white glove delivery — they put it together and remove all the packing materials — is great, and they’re going to be there in the future if something goes wrong, but, yeah, it’s furniture and how interesting can that possibly be.

Canceled a delivery last-​minute after waiting 6 weeks for delivery, telling us it was SUDDENLY out of stock (after telling us it was ready to deliver the day before), missed follow-​up deliveries for other items, offered gift cards on two occasions, never came through, and had no record of their promises. Truly the worst company I’ve dealt with in a long time.

we landed up buying our couch and chair for the living room here, it was not an easy decision by any means, but i was sick of sitting on the hardwood staring up at the flat-​screen.
the salesman was just that, but he knew his product, so that was fine. i didnt get the whole bob’s/jordans sales pitch thing, so plus for that. the cost was comparable to any other middle of the road store (ie Boston interior) but the fact i could save 100 bucks for opening a macys card was enough i guess to proceed. delivery took a long time and when it arrived the delivery people were nice, they didnt cover their boots, so fyi there, but all in all a bit better than average.

Another a@#kicker…got the bill today and they did NOT take off the 20% they said the would and neglected to give me the new card holder discount of 100 bucks. D-​bags.
If only they did not have such a decent shoe department…

When I first moved to Boston 5 years ago, I more or less started from scratch and furnished my entire apartment at Macy’s Furniture. I never intended for it to happen that way, but in the end Macy’s had the best selection, prices, and service. In fact, I found their prices to be as low or lower than IKEA, for much better quality.
So this weekend as we started our furniture hunt for our new condo, I suggested Macy’s Furniture to my sweetie. He wasn’t buying it. His tastes lean toward the modern European designers, which is all fine and dandy but we just can’t spent $ 15 grand on a couch. So I humored him and went to a few of the fancy design stores, and finally pressured him to check out Macy’s Furniture. Lo and behold, we found a really rad orange leather sectional that was actually on the low end of our price range, and it’s already in stock (compared to the fancy places that take 20 weeks to deliver your furniture). It’s as stylish and well-​made as a similar couch that we found elsewhere that was $ 6 grand (!!!) but much, much cheaper and it has a built in sofa sleeper to boot. Hot damn!
