I normally don’t write a review unless it’s great or poor… we picked up meal and brought home… well 30 minutes after eating their tacos, I felt like I was on a deserted island and drank a gallon of salt water… WTF? The lid of the salt shaker must have fallen off… terrible …enough said

New location open in the Bridgepointe Shopping Center, Home Depot parking lot. This location is great, the kind of food service expected. Everything was fresh, healthy options which is wonderful.

I read the reviews about this place and am just stymied by the plethora of 4 and 5 star reviews on a chain whose best quality is you probably won’t get sick if you eat there. This is food lab Mexican, which seems to be marketed to a pseudo socially conscious bunch of sheep, that wouldn’t know good Mexican food if Caesar Chavez were resurrected and took them to TJ for brunch.

The last time I was here(March) the chicken was burnt. Burnt food tastes bitter. I really should have brought my food back but I just picked out all the chicken. I guess the regular cook had the weekend off. I haven’t been back since and now it looks like their closed. Wonder what happened.

I always notice a line after I come in but I never had to wait in a line at this joint =D Pretty much the same service like at other places. Kinda ticks me off that their location is not convenient for me and it would be great if they open another one in San Mateo, so everytime i dont have to drive 10 minutes just to have some Chipotle craving!

I know I can count on Chipotle for fresh prepared food without a long wait! I never worry how long the line is because the line moves quick! This shopping center gets very busy during lunch time.

Food wise I don’t find this chipotle any different from others. But the service is what differentiates it from the others. One time the manager told us if we gather our whole baseball team we would get free burritos. So of course we take the challenge and get everyone to come. He delivered as promised and we got free burritos. Also the arts and wine festival normally gives coupons for chipotle so free guacamole and chips. I love burritos and they know how to stuff the crap out of these burritos.

I don’t care what people say, I like Chipotle! Their burritos and naked burritos are really good. I am in love with their chicken and pork. Their corn salsa is so crazy good. That, beans, guacamole, and some pico de gallo. its a winner. Only thing neg is that they don’t give free chips and salsa.

I like Chipotle a lot. it’s like awesome comfort food that you just crave and want to eat tons of. Major props for the guac! What I really don’t like about this place is the lunchtime crowd that makes the staff here kind of batty. They REALLY rush you… I don’t really take a long time to order, but I like to actually look at the menu every now and then. The people assembling the food get SUPER agitated when it takes me more than 1 second to tell them what i want. I mean, i understand they want to keep the line moving and all, but hot dannng. this is pretty redunk. No need for glares, finger tapping and a «what do you want? what do you want?»… :(EEEK, YOU’REMAKINGMENERVOUS!

Quick walk-in service — enjoyed our chicken burrito bowl & carnitas soft tacos. Guacamole & chips for a side. Chicken was good, but carnitas was definitely better. Sit outside & enjoy the day!

Burrito in a bowl. I like it. I usually order online and come in for pick up. Haven’t messed up my order yet.(keyword is yet.) Parking here sucks due to the Asian Market next door, but park a bit further and get a brisk walk in before lunch.

The food is so great here theres always a line! Never to fear, the employees have the system down to a science so the line is pretty fast moving! They don’t offer much in the way of choice for tortilla’s, but lucky for me they do offer the choice to put it in a bowl and avoid the tortilla all together! Overall, worth the line for the great tasting food and delicious rice!

Alright Chipotle, let me make this clear. I don’t check rice on my online order, it means I don’t want rice. 50% of the time, I still get rice. If I put a comment, «NORICE», it means I don’t want rice. 25% of the time, I still get rice. What do I have to do here, guys? It’s not fun to pick out the tasty niblets of meat and beans around white empty calories. (That said, you fixed the call ahead problem. Hoo-ray.) EDIT: Let me expound on this problem, since the rice issue isn’t just with online orders. There’s this guy, that my coworkers and I affectionately deem«Twitchy rice guy». If you order a bowl, you literally have to order like, «Chicken rice b-NO RICE!», because the dude has already grabbed the bowl with one hand, grabbed the spoon for rice in the other hand, and is halfway to filling the bowl with rice before you’re even finished speaking. And then they look at you like you’re crazy. I don’t understand why everything here is customizable but rice is the one thing it’s really hard to NOT get. Bleh.

My daughter really wanted to go here for dinner… She likes the fact she can order her food just how she wants it, that is a plus. They have on-line ordering that is a plus. But the food… is just ehhh… not authentic… and I dislike that you have to purchase chips. Just nothing special about this place at all… oh except that instead of using plastic trays to serve your food on, they use pizza pans… that isn’t special… just something different. Parking is easy, prices are reasonable, except they charge for chips. Will only eat here when my daughter requests it.

I end up going here at least once a week or every other week. I don’t mind it much — the portions are large, very large that I have yet to actually finish a burrito. However, I do enjoy their salads and the chips are great, which my friend always gets without fail. I do love their guacamole but it sort of sucks that you have pay separately unless you’re going the route of vegetarian. Not a chief complaint though — you control what they toss in there and they are incredibly friendly.

Fajita burrito bowl with carnitas or chicken is usually what I get. Service has never been bad. Portions are big & prices are okay. it’s not real Mexican food so I can’t compare the prices really. It really is what the rating says, A-OK. It still gets the job done when I want somewhat«Mexican food» and in a hurry. Better than close-by Baja Fresh for sure. Oh, and don’t get the chips if you don’t want to OD on salt! Beware of the bad drivers in the parking lot(most probably going to/leaving 99 Ranch)…it is Foster City after all(probably the most frustrating city for me in the peninsula to drive in, you’ll hear my horn)!! =P

I had seen this place around for years and then finally went to the Foster City location. Upon walking in, I was stuck by how this place looked like a cross between a restaurant, an industrial shop, and a college modern art studio. It was REALLY strange. I ordered a burrito. Yes, it was VERY Americanized, but was tasty and had a unique flavor. It was nothing special – just a good burrito, chips and soda without any frills, bells or whistles. Sometimes, that’s all I need. I will definitely go back, but I am not looking forward to sitting in those funky chairs again. The chairs there look like they were handmade in that college modern art studio that I was talking about above. They have sharp corners and edges and are very uncomfortable no matter how you shift your legs.

There is a huge misconception floating around about Chipotle: Many people, including myself at one time, believed they are owned by, in bed with, affiliated with a shadow investor called McDonald’s. I have to admit that just the thought makes you question the quality of the food at Chipotle when you are there. Well, I did some research on the Internet and there are court documents that reflect that McDonald’s bought shares in Chipotle, but they have since broken off there relationship and McD’s is in the process of exiting the picture! Hooray! I’ve been to Chipotle several times and there are more things I like about it than dislike. They are kind of like the In-n-Out of Mexican restaurants, they have a limited menu so that they can focus on making those few options really well. Here are other things I appreciate: –They are socially conscious and use local suppliers and have high standards for farm animals(Pre-PROP 2, nevertheless!) –The guacamole is thick and tastes like avocados –The grilled chicken is crispy and delicious –They let you know that the pintos have pork in them, and the black do not — a welcome bit of info for my pork-free lifestyle. I think this Foster City location is quite good, and I have yet to be disappointed.

I always get an unequal distribution of rice to vegetables when I eat here. Bites 1 – 6 just rice and beans. Then, bites 7 – 12 are undercooked veggies and bites 12-finish is super spicy salsa and corn with some rice. I feel like the proper spreading of innards is burrito making 101. Chipotle is like the drop-out kid of burrito school. La Cumbre in San Mateo graduated magna cum laude, but if that place is too busy, i’ll settle for a blah burrito here out of laziness.

Rating places like this always pisses me off because I feel the need to be original and write good clever reviews … but it’s hard to be clever when you’re describing a place like Chipotle. Sure it’s a good idea and I really do like the Burrito Bol(I don’t know where the W went …), but I think I’m mad because I got hosed. I ordered a burrito bol without beans and my friend ordered the same thing … he clearly got 2x the amount of meat as I did. What’s up with that? I got screwed out on the meat and that makes me angry and bitter. Oh right … this is the second time it’s happened … Okay … to be fair … the food is decent(the little bit they care to give me) and it’s nice to sit outside and enjoy a sunny day in Foster City. The service is fast and the food dependable. My grudge is personal I guess. I’d like to check out another Chipotle and give them more stars if they don’t screw me over on my carnitas.
