Unfortunately the quality and portion sizes have dropped considerably, but not the prices.

Probably the best fried chicken… I always do pick up… get half & half since I never know what I want… they always give you a time for when the food will be ready(pretty accurate with the timing +/-5min)

Love the atmosphere and how cordial and nice the staff are. The food was delicious and the prices are reasonable, it’s not loud and it’s very clean.

About a month ago a friend called up this place to get take-out of their chicken wings(great idea!). The price was pretty cheap and as I walked inside the restaurant to pick up the order I noticed it was packed table to table. It was my first time inside and I thought to myself, well, this place looks pretty dang cool. Flash forward to today. Another friend wanted lunch and we went to a place nearby … it was shut down. Then we drove to another place we heard good things about … it was closed down also. We both walked around with no idea where to go when we saw the door for Mad For Chicken. This place has a little bit of everything like great chicken wings, cool authentic Korean food on the menu, drink specials, huge flat screens with sports on, old 60’s rock music playing(?), a deal menu that has a section called MYBOSSISCRAZY(I think that’s what it said). I like the fact that there is no standard specific category to this place and it’s all over the map. The wait staff was professional and if it’s not crowded they will have employees often checking to see how they can clean up your table, so good on that. I guess the only reason I’m not giving it 5-stars is it’s more of a jack-of-all trades master of none type place. Which is fine by me, I’ll probably be here again even if it’s far from where I live. It’s a nice hang-out spot and I can see why business is good there(as opposed to the shut down place by my house).

Friend and i decided to try this joint out after being recommended by 2 others, for lunch on a sunday afternoon. Place: looked clean and crisp and roomy Service: staff was very friendly; though one might be a new hire since he didn’t know much info about the food items we questioned. Service was okay, had to flag them down a few times Food: waiter was kind enough to bring us samples of different beers till we chose a pitcher to our liking. Great selection on tap btw! Ordered half & half wings along with the Bulgogi Sandwich. Everything was on point! Wings were spicy but not overbearing and the sandwich was toasted just right and stuffed plenty. First time trying out Korean style fried chicken and it was awesome! Deff will come back!

Great fried chicken and fried food in general. A bit pricy for what it is, chicken and potatoes. Some of the most basic, utilitarian food ingredients one can find. Ultimately still worth it though. The fried garlic chicken is a staple order. Great crispy skin, excellent flavor. Just a general observation, Korean fried chicken anywhere(not just Mad for Chicken) stay using the tiniest pieces of chicken around. Drumsticks the size of wings etc. I’ve concluded that the size enables the crispy skin and not have the meat over-fried. Parmesan fries and potato wedges were excellent side orders as well. Theme carries over from the chicken, great crispy texture. Perfect with the various beers on offer. OK enough selection of beers for a Korean spot. Randomly, the curry popcorn they provide as service is pretty damn good with beer as well. Like it so much I’ve copied it at home. Easy parking around the area and any of the wait staff respond immediately when called upon. Also ideal for takeout. The way they package the chicken, it doesn’t get soggy and packaging looks nice.

I believe in second chances! Do you? I have been to Mad for Chicken twice now. I enjoyed it so much the first time, I decided to come back and brought some friends. This time it was not as good as the first. They set the bar so high that I was somewhat disappointed my 2nd time here. The good… *AMAZINGWINGS! Super crunchy on the outside and super moist on the inside. If you like SPICY, these are SPICY! Some of my friends were crying because of how hot these wings are. It comes with a cup of pickled radish and a cup of creamy sweet corn. *Beer Sangria… They only have it by the glass and not pitchers darn! *Parmesan fries… another crunchy on the outside dish, soft potato on the inside, not a bit greasy. Served with a chipotle mayo and ketchup. *Fried dumplings. Super crunchy shell, super spicy sauce and super tasty! *If you check in on Facebook or Instagram(why not Unilocal huh???) you get a free frozen yogurt. You are going to need it to put out the fire in your mouth after eating these wings! There was 7 of us and they only gave us 2 yogurts. The bad… *They don’t take reservations for the weekend. *We ordered Truffle fries along with a basket of Parmesan fries… they are basically the same thing except one has a couple of drops of truffle oil which just makes them taste too greasy. SKIPIT! *Most of the beers they offer on their menu or that were written on the chalk board were not available. *Parking is a little difficult… meter street parking. The ugly… *Our server told us they were short staffed in the kitchen that night this is why our order came out in bits and pieces. Our apps came out after our meal! They forgot a few things so we had to remind them. *They got my order totally wrong. I told our server that I was so disappointed and he offered me a free drink for getting my order wrong. Nice right?!? EEEHHHH… more like Nice try! I ordered another beer sangria which was more of the Coors light than Sangria. So while the service was off par this time around, the food was still freakin fantastic! I am going to give them another chance because I am so MADFORCHICKEN!

Chicken wings. Chicken wings. Chicken wings. My sister was feening for some korean fried chicken wings. We actually drove from Brooklyn all the way to Flushing for these wings(I know. It’s kind of extreme, but we’re mad for chicken!). We ordered the Half and Half wings(Spicy and Soy Garlic) with Calamari. I also ordered the sangria. The wings were so good! I’m actually craving them right now. They’re so crispy and savory! However, if you’re a weak sauce like me, you probably do not want to get the spicy garlic. I didn’t think it would be so spicy, but it was. When I had my first bite of the spicy garlic, I was about to cry. Just a heads up! I didn’t think the sangria was that good. I had better. The calamari was okay, but I didn’t really like the sauce. I would only come here for wings! Definitely come here for that! You can also ask to doggie bag it and bring any home if you can’t finish them. They give you this cute take out box.

I had heard about this place online and was very interested in trying out a Korean restaurant that was not barbecue. Located on Northern boulevard this place gets quite a bit of foot traffic at night. Even with two visits within the last couple of months, I still have other menu items that I still want to try. The first time I went it was on a weekend and somewhat late. Good thing they are open until 2am. There was quite a crowd when I arrived by I was able to get seating right away. When the server told me that it would take close to 25 minutes for their famous chicken wings I remembered that they do need to fry them twice. Along with that there was a novel dish of kimchi fried rice that I had never tried before. Good thing I had ordered a matcha flavored shake to go with the orders and staff was available to make sure I had sufficient water refills. The staff was very on point with checking in on me from time to time and letting me know that last call to order anything from the kitchen was at a certain time. For the second visit I arrived on a weeknight and the place still had a good amount of patrons. Seating again was not an issue and the server let me know they had daily food specials. The Roti tacos were very good and I definitely wanted to try the dish called La Poutine. They have an very extensive alcohol and drink menu but again a shake would suffice. Lychee is an acquired taste for some and it is not usually a flavor of choice. The staff again was very polite and attentive. They definitely care about the customer experience and have a great selection of Korean style. The ambience inside is very relaxed and peaceful. There is a bar for anyone who prefers no table setting. And it is a good spot for happy hour or anyone looking for a good selection of beverages on tap.

Coming from an area where sports bars sell crappy food and bad drinks this place is a revelation lol. The ambience is casual, something I would describe as a American sports bar. They have drink specials and cheap beer on tap. And most importantly of all they have some damn good Korean fried chicken. Now I won’t venture to say that this is the best Korean Fried Chicken in the area, but I will say that I would probably find myself at Mad For Chicken more often than its competitions. Why? Honestly the concept of a sports bar that sells something different than burgers and buffalo wings would make me come back. Why would I go to an sports bar to have bad food if I could watch the game here and get some good chicken and kimchi? Highly recommended for a casual environment to watch the game with some good drinks and even better food.

I absolutely love Korean style fried chicken and Mad For Chicken makes awesome fried chicken. They have 2 options for flavors, soy garlic and spicy garlic. The spicy was not spicy to me but my 3 other friends seemed to disagree. So if you can’t handle spicy food, I suggest you order only soy garlic. Lol. The chicken comes with 2 small sides of pickled radish and corn salad. I remember coming here years ago and they used to include a fried potato spiral thingy. I wish they still did that. :(I found the chicken to be a little too salty but the pickled radish helped to offset the saltiness. The chicken is always cooked fresh, so it does take about 30 minutes from the moment you order. So order appetizers and come with friends to keep you occupied while you wait. Although I loved the chicken, I think my favorite item here is the parmesan fries. They’re the perfect mix between crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. They come with ketchup and spicy mayo. I highly recommend getting this. :) The service here was super awesome. We never ran out of water. And they checked in on us often. :) They do not have a parking lot and there’s usually never parking available on Northern Blvd. We parked in the neighborhood nearby and just walked a few blocks :) Check in on Facebook for free froyo! :)

I must say, the food here far surpasses what Bön Chon or Kyo Chon can offer. I came in on a Saturday afternoon and there was absolutely no wait for seats. Lets jump right into it! Yogurt Soju– Delicious! Flavorful, refreshing, pairs great with the food Toppoki with noodles and cheese– Hands down the best toppoki I’ve ever had! It was cooked to perfection and the cheese really gave it a kick. The portion is HUGE! I recommend sharing this with atleast 4 people. Beef Quesadilla– This was my least favorite dish. It was good, but its flavors weren’t amazing. Half and Half Wings– Delicious! Perfectly fried without being overly greasy. The only downside of coming here is the temperature… its FREEZING in the restaurant! I had to eat with my coat on. Despite that, I will definitely be coming back more often to get my Korean fried chicken fix.

Their chicken wing recipe is really great and all of their fried chicken is made fresh to order so expect a wait of around 20 – 30 minutes but it’s so worth it. The half and half option is great bc you get a well balance mixture of savory and spicy. I usually get the boneless I find them easier to eat and I feel like you get more meat since the wing pieces are large in size and there’s no bone in the way, but I have had the bone-in and have found them to be amazing as well. I also recommend the bulgogi over rice the meat is really well seasoned and the portion size is great for sharing. Their parmesean fries are so so good and a great side to go with the amazing chicken. The service is always top notch and all of their waiters are really attentive and polite. Plus they have a bunch of great beer options so it’s a great late dinner hangout spot.

Came here for a group lunch on a weekend. Got here right when they opened so they were able to accommodate our bigger group of 8 people. Ordered a few items to share: — 40 pieces wings(half soy garlic, half spicy garlic) — Twister(helix shaped potato on a stick) — Truffle Fries — Kimchi fried rice All were really good! The Kimchi fried rice was very tasty! The wings were fantastic! Warning, the spicy garlic wings do have a good kick to it. So if you aren’t really a spicy person, I would recommend sticking with the soy garlic wings — which were also really good! Note, if you do try the spicy wings, make sure you finish it off with the pickled daikon — which was a great side to go with it(it’s like having blue cheese and celery to go with your buffalo wings). The fries where great! The twister was fun, but definitely harder to share. Fun to order, but I wouldn’t do it again. Will be back to try the other items on the menu!

Korean fried chicken!!! Yes indeed. After a hard long day of volunteer work in nearby FMCP, me and a group of 7 headed to my old hood to get Mad For Chicken, rid ourselves of this hunger and take advantage of their happy hour($ 3 beers!!) We ordered their Parmesan fries that came with ketchup and spicy mayo on the side. It was amazing, they got the cripsy crunchy thing going and they were well seasoned which took me by surprise as most Gastropubs and restaurants fail to blend Parmesan cheese into their dishes well. Then the stars of the show came out! The assortment of wings(spicy and mild) and the drums lined up for all to see. As we dug in the first thing I noticed was that they fried it well and hard without overcooking the meat, and the sweet tanginess of the skin. The mild ones were good, mostly sweet to me but I adore the spicy ones as they had the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. Minor issues: when we ordered + waited we saw other larger orders from those who came in after us get filled before ours but we asked about it and it was quickly rectified. That alone impressed me and everyone working there was well mannered and friendly in general.

Amazing double fried chicken wings CHICKEN The skin of the chicken is so crisp, you’ll hear a loud crunch as you bite into it. Since it’s deep-fried to the max, the skin is really taut and there’s a big space between the skin and the actual meat. You’ll notice the gap as you eat. The flavor is ALLINTHESKIN. The spicy has a mild heat but will build as you keep eating. The soy garlic is a tad sweet, but the strong garlic balances it. You can get wings and drumsticks. I found that the meat on the [bigger] drumsticks was very dry and slightly tough. The meat on the wings was very juicy, but there isn’t much flavor compared to the skin. FRIES Do not leave without getting the truffle fries. Or the Parmesan fries. AMBIENCE Where this places shines is identity. The place is reminiscent of a biergarten and has the feel of a laidback pub. It’s simple — Chicken and beer. One of the first menus you walk in to is the beer menu on the left listing their American IPA’s, Belgian Wheat, and so forth. It’s good they’re educating people on the different beer styles — learned a few things. They have many unique craft beer offerings that are hard to find, which is a bonus. Recommended Food: ½ soy garlic & ½ spicy, truffle fries Recommended beer: Ommegang Gnomegang, Sierra Nevada Keller Weis, Scrimshaw Pilsner(popular here, waiters like to push this one — not my cup of tea), Hitachino Nest White IPA

Place is pretty awesome. Went to the spot in Korea Town in the city and just had to check out the place in Murray Hill. What’s great is that they’re consistent. For the app, I ordered: — calamari — deep fried calamari topped with parmesan and oregano served with home made marinara sauce. — twister — helix shaped potato with ketchup, spicy mayo and parmesan on top. Both were good. I liked the twister better than the calamari, though. Calamari could have been crispier. The entrée: — 6 boneless strips — soy garlic — 12 soy garlic wings Beer: — Game of Thrones — Iron Throne — one of the best Blonde ales I’ve ever had. My overal experience here is great. I do recommend going here.

Who doesn’t like Korean Fried Chicken? This is one of my favorite places so far for Korean Fried Chicken tho. The fried chicken usually takes about 35 minutes but it’s worth the wait. In the mean time, there are other appetizers and selections to order. The crispy Parmesan Fries is a great choice for appetizer to share or maybe all to yourself. The Parmesan flavor is very subtle, but still has a great flavor. The spicy pork quesidilla is also a great option. The quesadillas comes in 4 pieces topped with some pickled corn and kimchi along with swirls of seasoned sour cream. Besides for these two great options, they also have budae jigae, ramen, salads, and tacos! I haven’t tried anything else yet but I will do so next time. Finally after 35 mins of waiting, our crispy chicken arrives. We ordered the 8 piece half and half(half spicy and half garlic soy). Usually at most other Korean fried chicken joints, I always end up liking the regular garlic soy more, but not here. The Spicy flavor is actually pretty flavorful and not just spicy. It does get spicy as you keep eating it but that’s what the pickled radish and corn are for. For drinks, I ordered the Calpico soda and my friend ordered the Lychee milkshake. Even though, I was only able to take a sip or two of the lychee milkshake, I can still tell you it’s very refreshing and tastes great!

Came here on a Sunday night for dinner. Really cute/casual décor. They were definitely going for a chill sports bar/restaurant. We were seated right away. This is a spot for a group of friends, not a one on one date Pros: food The wings are delicious. We got the half soy garlic half spicy combo. The spice definitely has a kick to it. They have the most addicting and delicious curry popcorn. They give you a bottle of water in a wine bottle to quench your thirst. If you pay cash, you get 5% off. Cons: service/availability of food available Most times we had to wave down a waiter to order or get anything. Read a couple of reviews and decided to order the kimchi croquettes. They didn’t have it. Our next option was the truffle fries. They also didn’t have that. When ordering drinks, we wanted a pitcher of Stella. Once again it wasn’t available.

If you have a fascination with Korean Fried Chicken, and you need a late night bite, this is your Go To! After reading all the MFC reviews about this newly renovated location I had to finally stop by. As soon as I stepped foot inside, I was captivated by this chic gastropub ambiance. A mix of wooden picnic tables, brick walls and soft leather seating. The setup of this venue allows for a unique dining experience. Flat screens scattered all around for the sports fans and the most unique vintage Victorian style Bar Stools that look like mini thrones. The drink menu features Soju cocktails, Pitcher and Bucket specials. It was the world series game and all the METS fans were out to support their Boro. Families and groups gathered for dinner. Some ordering traditional korean dishes, others there for the fried chicken and addicting fries. We decided on a ½ price pitcher of Blue Moon at $ 12(less than the price of 1 cocktail). We paired that with Garlic Parmesan Fries, a 12 piece Half/Half order of Soy and Spicy Garlic Wings and Drums combo. Each order is fried when ordered so the wait can be long, however. .IT’S WORTHIT. Order some apps like the Kimchi quesadilla to entertain your taste buds. Their menu is very creative. Many korean favorites turned into masterpieces. I’ve been to 2 other KFC restaurants and I must say the flavors here and CRISP texture, have been the best I’ve had. Pelicana crowns as the most juicy with satiating toppings/flavors, however, the texture of the chicken here is unmatched. The spicy garlic is my favorite. Rich garlic flavor, right amount of heat for flavor. The parmesan fries are ADDICTING. Packing flavor unmatchable. Fresh parsley and parmesan. I wanted to take a order home it was so good. I couldn’t stop eating. They decorated the space very well for Halloween. They keep this place very clean and I love the interior design. Service was great for a Friday night and I enjoyed my buzz after we finished our pitcher. Great place to meet with friends or for a late night date.

Ansonsten top. Also: Wer in der Gegend ist — unbedingt vorbeischauen!
