Another nice Indian restaurant in orchard lake road. I just checked reviews in Unilocal as well as google. Google reviews where most users give just stars with no comments and wondered with all 5 stars and had a doubt whether to go or not. But i stopped by and reviews worth it. As most Indian restaurants, this also has buffet and I chose to try buffet if it’s first time. It had number of dishes most of which is common and we would have seen in all buffets. They also sell sweets and snacks, I thought of getting but started in a hurry. Special mentions Fish pulusu(curry) which mostly won’t be there in buffet. There was avakaya biryani(biryani with mango pickle) was another item never seen anywhere in buffet. Rice pudding was another I liked as mostly we see gajar halwa or gulab jamun. They made 3 beverages. masala chai, mango lassi and I think strawberry juice is the third one. It gives options as most places have one like lassi Biryani and chaat also goes in special mention. This might be silly but mostly we don’t see well boiled white rice in Indian restaurants. Everywhere you see some rice which used to be dry. But here I liked it because it was well cooked, not dry so that I ate with daal, rasam, goat curry, baingan bharta etc. One less star is here why Waiters doesn’t seem to take care to see whether water is filled, empty plates or bowls are placed near buffet station etc. I don’t know if this might be due to less persons as the place was with almost all tables occupied.

I have been here only once before for a relative’s kids bday party back when it was known as India Kings. This time my family and I were here for my cousin’s bday party. Funny enough, they are friends with the owners of this place so that helps their checkbook: P. The place has a pretty cool setup. When you enter, a huge space is for seating(booths and tables) and farther back you have a sweets/savory snacks section that they sell like a bakery and then their buffet lineups. It’s a bigger place than you’d think when you factor in the restrooms, and their kitchen. I didn’t have a bad experience with sticky floors. It’s tough to cater for anyone where are at least 60 adults and a bunch of middle and hs aged kids but it would have been easier to put cutlery near buffet. Overall, our relatives didn’t cater a handful of dishes but allowed all the guests to access the buffet or what was available. There might have been an odd one or two families who were eating there for the night but for the most part, it seemed like the restaurant was booked for the occasion. Gobi Manchurian, Chili Chicken, Mirchi Bhajias were all tasty. Another small thing is that the buffet selection could have included butter chicken or chicken tikka masala. There were a few boned chicken items like the Biryani and Korma but a boneless option always is a plus for me. Paneer, Naan, Rice dishes were all on point. Had their mango shake too which was delicious. Corona goes well with Indian and the experience. Good to try places out of Troy and definitely recommend trying at least once if you like Indian food!

Wow, seriously this place is dirty, sticky floors, and the buffet sucks too. I was taken to this place with a friend, and clearly I don’t know what she was thinking. She said it use to be a really nice place. Ugly, uncleaned fish tank with algae all over welcomes you as you wait to be seated. than lunch time buffet is half empty, dried crusty over cooked food. and $ 10 per person, omg for that food. I would never go back.

First, I want to tell you that I LOVE Indian food. Eat it all the time I ordered the Chicken Korma it’s one of the mildest Indian dishes. Asked for it with no spice. What I got was a dish that made me break out in a sweat, left my lips burning for an hour. I told the manager that it was way to spicy, he said that’s the way they do it. The amount of rice they gave us wasn’t enough for 2 people, the manager said if we wanted more rice, we’d have to pay more The Kashmiri Naan bread was tough, dry, and had none of the sweet flavors it should hav had. We won’t be back
