Good buffet food. They make fresh naan ! That’s the best part. I have had biryani and chicken makhanwala… It was delicious. The chaat items are not very impressive, they could be better.

I love me some Indian food. Yes! This is probably at the top of the foodie domain. If there is anyone who doesn’t like Indian food, please line up with the chicken fingers and potato sticks people. This food is for real foodies with real tastebuds as far as I’m concerned. Samosas to the max, that’s for real. Their samosas are super huge. Filled with veggies and potatoes, all the good stuff the body needs. Pair that with their tamarind sauce and you will feel like you’re in heaven. Main course consisted of Chicken Tikka and Lamb Vindaloo. Both were exceptionally awesome. Properly spicy and paired with the basmati rice is like a sensation close to euphoria. It’s soooooo goood. The service here was properly good as well. They took good care of us from when we entered to the establishment all the way to when we left. The waters were kept filled, they made sure we had everything we needed, the appetizers and the main events came in perfect order. I loooovvee your restaurant! I would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone who’s looking for some yummy Indian food. Oh yea, Garlic Naan for the win!!!

Chetinad was super good. Ground bay leaf and roasted peppers. He remembered me from last time and really cranked it up. Absolutely spectacular.

Good lunch buffet. Chicken was meaty, lamb was lean. Not spicy. Good service. Spoons were dirty at the buffet.

Best Indian lunch buffet I’ve ever had! Chicken dishes were fresh and not mostly bones like some places. Great lentils. Just wish they had palak paneer on the buffet. Naan bread was straight out of the oven served hot to the table. Service was fast and friendly with never an empty water glass. Excellent atmosphere. Extraordinary bargain for $ 9. You can’t beat this anywhere! Love this place! There are several lunch buffets in the immediate area and I’ve tried the all. Don’t waste your time anywhere else.

Saffron is barely an Indian restaurant. Mainly because, the personnel who serve do not have any clue of Indian hospitality. Well, they don’t even have a basic understanding of courtesy. Very rude. The concept of customer service doesn’t exist. The food is manageable.

My friend and I ended up at Saffron when we discovered the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. We didn’t have to travel far as there are at least a dozen Indian restaurants in the immediate area. We decided to go with the lunch buffet. There was a very good selection of items, soup included. Everything I tried was very tasty, not bland or too spicy. The only thing missing was a decent selection of desserts. I think there were two. I tried both neither of which I enjoyed. There wasn’t a great deal of atmosphere in the place and the server was not at all attentive. He brought our drink orders, left the bill and never returned, although he passed our table many times never stopping to ask if we needed anything. So if you want good Indian food and not too particular about the atmosphere or service then you will probably enjoy this place. If not there are a least a dozen more you can walk to.

first time here, used to go to House of India across the street which looks like it closed for renovation/closed for good. Food was very tasty, reasonable, good service and pretty inside.

I found Saffron to be a good, but not great, option for Indian in the Farmington Hills area. The food was standard-good, I do think there are better Indian places in the Detroit area. A friend and I shared the Makhni chicken(or to Americanize it– butter chicken) and lamb tikki marsala. Both were flavorful but could have used a bit more spice. There was a nice sweetness to the dishes. The naan has to be ordered separately and does not automatically come with the order. I found this strange, I think at most American Indian restaurants we do expect it. The order did come with rice. The service was excellent and we did not wait long after we ordered for the food to be brought out. I also agree with the other reviewers that the portions were small for the price.

I have only been here for their lunch buffet. The food is fantastic and the buffet leaves nothing to be desired. High quality, well prepared food. Highly recommended.

I’ve been here twice for dinner. Both times we got excellent service(they were pretty dead though so not sure if this would change during a rush). Both times we ordered the chicken Tikka masala and peshawari naan, they are both delicious. We didn’t love the the saffron curry but it was still good. The lamb madras was very tasty but the lamb pieces were a little fatty. Would definitely recommend them and am already planning a return trip with a few more friends.

Lack spicyness. Americanized ! Clean place, when I came in for lunch buffet, wait staff not so friendly, the guy favors women clientele lol, Butter chicken was ok, chicken curry was really good and the chutneys you can’t go wrong with it ! The downfall was the tandoori chicken was so dry it was as hard as rock ! ! Excellent was the cabbage poriyal! I’d say Namaste still wins my palate ! Off you can by pass the disposable plates

Well, well, looks like I found me my go to for Indian carry out. Though Namaste flavors had been my usual for the nights we craved Indian, this place takes precedence based on location alone. All dishes we’ve tried have been excellent and the staff was first class all the way. There’s a full bar too, complete with sexy mood lighting and a smiling bartender who made me nervous.

I hadn’t eaten Indian food in a few years before I tried this place. For dinner, I ordered two entrees and two orders of naan with a friend. In my opinion, it was a bit pricey considering the size of the portion, but it was tasty. They charge you for the naan(which I was disappointed by), but there is a nice naan selection on the menu. Both the garlic and basil and the peshawari naan were delicious! I returned another day for the lunch buffet with my family. It was tasty, but I was disappointed by the small selection. The few Indian buffets that I’ve been to before(in the Canton/Novi area) had much lager selections. At least the naan was unlimited this time!

Very good food. Tandoori chicken was great. Waiter was not good. Forgot soup and salad. I would definitely come back but make sure of a different waiter.

I have been remiss for not reviewing Saffron earlier. When I get a craving for Indian food, this my go-to lunch spot. Most Indian restaurants have a lunch buffet and Indian food lends itself very well to buffet service. The variety is very good with several vegetarian and meat options. There is always Tandoori Chicken and the naan is made fresh for each table. The food is great and reasonably priced. It is also a good way to get introduced to Indian food. Highly recommended.

Well. This place has changed hands quite a bit. And it has been an Indian restaurant more than once. They do have a tandoor that you can see them using. It is behind the glass in the main dining room. We went for a weekend buffet with another couple. They are Indians and both are vegetarians. They seemed to enjoy the veggie fare. I thought the food was passable but not extraordinary. There were quite a few items to choose from but nothing I ate wowed me. I would go back, perhaps for an al a carte meal where I could select a dish and have it prepared on the spot. The feeding at the trough was not spectacular.

Incredible. I was driving down I-696 and I asked Siri if there were any Indian restaurants near me. This is where she took me. What a wonderful delight! I started with the buffet-style lunch. Butter chicken melted in my mouth, and the tandoori chicken was incredible too. Full of flavor and cooked right– and good sides as well. For dessert– Gulab jamun was to die for! Best Indian meal I have had in months. It is a must try place. Try it.

I was invited by a friend to try this place out so I invited a few more friends and made a party of it. I was extremely impressed by the extensive 50 menu item buffet spread in celebration of the Festival of Lights(an Indo holiday) I usually stay away from buffets but this was an exception because of the spiritual occasion. It was also an opportunity for me to try dishes from every corner of India. OMG there were so many choices I haven’t tried that I didn’t know where to start. So I started with things I haven’t tired, like the Goan cuisines which were fantastic, savory and an explosion of flavors that had my taste buds screaming for more. The vegetarian dishes were so rich in spices and delicious that I couldn’t stop till I tried all of them. The soups, salads and all the toppings and sauces were just absolutely amazing. I was so full that I didn’t get a chance to try all of the deserts but one. Oh well I’m sure they’ll have more special buffet spreads to come. Oops… Forgot to mention our waitresses Carisa she was very helpful and a walking Indo cuisine Wikipedia. Will be going back soon to try this place when it’s not so festive.
