I have to say dinner last night was AWESOME. Firstly, that video floating around Facebook of the end of the chopsticks becoming a «stand» is a lie. I tried and broke my chopsticks but the lovely server laughed, replaced them, and then made a little stand out of the paper for myself and Stephanie S. It was cute. I ordered the FairLake Crunch Roll– deeeelish; spicy tuna and crab tempura crunch and spicy mayo. I could’ve eaten 20 pieces. Also went for the cucumber roll– added my own salt and boom– amazeballs. Really happy with the decision to try Tsunami for dinner, will definitely be back!

This place has been around for quite sometime! They are doing something right! We wanted a quick and yummy meal at Fair Lakes and this popped up on my search! We have had the gluttonous pleasure of gorging on their buffet in the past. For $ 15, it was yummy and satisfying. The servers were great! They made sure dishes were cleaned off the tables and water glasses filled. There is a large selection of sushi at the buffet. Remember it’s a buffet and the food fills your belly! They had Salmon Skin rolls that were better than other dine in locations! I enjoyed my share of those crunchy rolls. There was a hit bar that had chicken katsu, spinach salad, popcorn shrimp and other items! The dishes were always replenished. They also offered a few self service ramen and miso soup options! Really, it’s hard to complain about a place where you can keep coming back for more!

Tsunami is my go to place to eat in this area. I love the ambiance; mellow vocal jazz, warm lighting, and wood interior. Perfect set up for good conversations. I always get the Mona roll with the baked mussels… Ugh. I had it yesterday and now I want it again.

Being new to the area I’m scouting the local sushi spots. Tsunami was the third restaurant I’ve tried. I ordered the Godzilla roll and the Rainbow roll. Both were great, typical specialty roll and a standard roll. They were well wrapped so they didn’t fall apart and make me feel/look like a Newbie to sushi. Side notes: they serve Kikkoman soy sauce, which me growing up around Asian food, is the good brand. I have a preference for places that use Kikkoman since other places use cheaper brands. The restaurant also gives edamame while you wait for your order. That was a pleasant addition that usually you have to order(and pay extra for). I showed up a few minutes too late for the sushi buffet which is a bummer but I’ll eventually try it out. I like this place but it won’t be something I seek specifically.

Sushi Lunch buffet? Yes please! less than $ 15 for all you can eat is quickly worth it. The rolls are a good size, with various ingredients. The pieces of fish on the sashimi are a wee bit small, obviously they’d rather you fill up on the rice. They actually specify with a sign that you can not eat just the fish you must eat the rice as well or youll be charged extra. As it is in a great location, I will be back.

My family and I love this place. We go here all the time when we’re in the mood for Japanese and some really good Suishi. Our family friends is friends with the Suishi chef and he makes some of the BEST sushi in the area — by far. Great spot for families and always entertaining.

This place has fresh sushi every time and I’ve been coming here since 2010. Casual place with great service and the sushi and rolls are really yummy and fresh. I keep coming back here because the food is always consistent and fresh and the owner is so welcoming and friendly. The udon is also very good! My extended family of 8 came here for dinner the other day(without me) and also raved about the freshness of the food and attentive service.

This was a great find! Casual with great service, it’s a great place to come for a good meal. Standouts include the Oyster roll and the Baked Mussels.

I’ve been coming here for almost 5 years and I would say that this is one of my favorite sushi restaurants! Every season they come up with new rolls and my favorite lately has been the paradise roll and the pink lady roll. I also crave their baked mussels which is topped off with their special spicy mayo sauce. Their service is wonderful and they make sure you are completely satisfied! The owner treats her customers like family!

My only critique about Tsunami is the prices are a bit high, but I know I am getting quality sushi, so I keep going back! I definitely have favorite sushi rolls, but each one I’ve tried has been delicious! The restaurant itself is small and comfortable. The staff is very kind and helpful. I love to eat in the restaurant and I often get take-out. Tsunami Sushi is something I crave!

My husband and I went to the lunch buffet. It didn’t have a variety nor did the buffet sushi seem a good quality. It wasn’t gross, but it was disappointing.

Chicken teriyaki tasted like something from a microwave meal– it was really nasty. The sweet potato roll was pretty good. Service was excellent but I will only eat here if I’m desperate.

The other reviewers hit it in the head, just a typical sushi joint with no bells or whistles. Nothing special here. :/ I was a bit disappointed in my salmon skin roll, I’m use the the skin itself being used to wrap the roll but instead a bunch of dry crunchy pieces were in the inside and while it wasn’t bad… I didn’t even want to finish it. I also got the smoked salmon roll with cream cheese and kiwi on top, just bland, the fish itself seemed really soft. Not sure how to explain that. Oh… And I tried the appetizer Arigato Rolls which is pretty much 5 crab Rangoon balls that is kind of bland… Maybe if they actually used crab in them it might be more appetizing or it would have been nice to have some sort of sauce to dip them in. Just a little disappointed in the food I guess, I mean it’s good but that’s it, just good. The service was awesome though! I think if I came back here, I would come for their lunchtime buffet.

Not overly wowed by Tsunami. Rolls are large but not very tasty. Also had a sushi variety. Sea Clam was small but flavorful; uni terrible. Tasted like it was preserved or from a can and not fresh. Salmon and Flying Fish roe both somewhat tasteless. The service is pleasant and not overly attentive which is nice but the food, well, it just doesn’t get it. If you want something fast in a strip mall setting then this is your place. If you want higher quality then best to look elsewhere.

The sushi rolls are quite ugly but very delicious. Price is fair. We will go again as it’s in a good shopping center.

It’s just another typical Sushi restaurant with lunch buffet. They do have some other food choices on the buffet menu(chinese/korean mix), but nothing really special to mention. Wasn’t too impressed with quality of fish for the buffet, but that’s unfortunately the case for most restaurants that offer lunch buffet.

This is your typical sushi restaurant. They have a lot of rolls, maki and other typical items on the menu. The staff are friendly and I’ve never had to wait for a table(no reservations necessary). They serve a free bowl of edamame and give you free orange slices for dessert(both a very nice touch)! They prepare the rolls pretty quickly and they are pretty tasty/satisfying. My favorite roll is the«Fair Lakes» roll. They also serve a decent miso soup. The best part about this place is the affordability… A decent meal for 2 at this places is under $ 25!Sweet.

Came here Thursday night for sushi. My bf doesn’t like sushi and got the hibachi shrimp and steak. I felt like the portion was small and it didn’t look that appealing but he said it was good and that he was full. I got a California roll and the fair lakes crunch roll and I thought both were good. The rolls are bigger than what I thought they’d be– I can usually kill two rolls but I got halfway through these and was full. Our server was nice and made sure our drinks were always full. There’s not many sushi places in the area and I don’t mind this place at all– I’d come back for sure.

Okay. i“ll be honest… Tsunami deserves a 3.5 and the here’s is why. 1 Sushi roll matters and that is the Oyster Roll. Deep fried oyster, cucumber and fish roe. Okay I’ll admit $ 5.50 for 6 rolls and your getting half a piece of oyster in each piece of the roll. But its the perfect bite. My cousin had one of my pieces and after he tried it he had to order 2 more rolls because it was that good. Other rolls that we tried that were just okay were the spider roll, rainbow roll, California roll, Chameleon roll and a spicy tuna roll. All just tasted like the usually do just generic nothing special. We also ordered. Beef teriyaki which came with miso soup and a side salad. The beef was tender but really chewy… teriyaki sauce was a bit too sweet for me. The salad the ginger dressing wasn’t too bad not watered down like it usually is at some restaurants. Overall.Tsunami deserves 3.5 only for the Oyster Roll. Without it probably wouldn’t get so much praise from me. Service was okay. Rolls took a while to come out though. But huge bonus if you need quick childcare while you eat the waitresses are really good with little kids. They seemed very attached to my little nephew.
