I see some employees in this store that are friendly and try really hard but the store is so mis-managed it is pathetic! But there are few employees that really have any product knowledge and there are a couple that are really snippy. Sigh! The last time I was there, the scanners at the fabric counter were not working and the extras had not been charged — management and procedure issue. The line up front was so long the one and only cashier was jittery and nervous. She called for help twice and finally the manager came on the intercom and calmly said«I heard you» but where was the manager? Hiding in her office? The poor cashier continued to struggle and when one register got hung up and she needed a manager to unlock it, she just went to another register and started ringing. I stood in line for about 20 min. and a manager never showed up. Bad management! Then there is the poor quality of some of their fabric. It is cheap because it is cheap. If I ever go there again, I will make sure the entire piece I buy is opened and I inspect it completely before buying. Nothing more frustrating that getting in the middle of cutting out something and discovering there is a flaw, I cannot recommend the fabric or related departments of this store at all. I never shop the home décor items, so can’t speak about that part.

I’m editing this review(originally 1 star) because the managers came through in the end. I spent $ 50 on some fabric here about a week ago and washed it to get rid of the perfume smell it got from being around the scented products in the store. I followed the instructions on the bolt, and it still shrunk 9 inches. The store originally refused to return it because it had been washed. They said that I should have just known that fabric can shrink 2 – 3 inches per yard and that pre-shrunk isn’t standard like it is for everything else. After many phone calls to the store, calling corporate headquarters, and e-mailing corporate customer service, I finally got a call from a different store manager a few days later, who was willing to return the fabric for me. It was a colossal pain, but in the end I did get my money back.

My daughter was getting her hair cut next door at hairmasters so we strolled around. Even though we live in the area we figured why not. Honestly a few things were tempting but the yarn selection was small and I got bored quickly. I think hobby lobby still just has a better selection and setup. The registers were so slow I considered just walking out. I won’t choose to go here but not a bad experience just not worth my money.

Terrible customer service! Had a receipt and they rudely would not take the items back because they were seasonal — even though they there were unopened and purchased within last 30 days! Manager was rude as well as staff!

Purchased clearance fabric from the Lynnwood store. When I arrived at home I found a hole in the fabric. Didn’t know that clearance items were excluded from return(does mention this on the back of receipt I received after I paid!) until I tried to return the fabric to the Everett store. Once I explained that there was a hole in the fabric I thought the manager would agree to the return. NOLUCK! Really? Come on, put on your management britches and make a management decision. A customer should not be made to drive 30 miles round trip to return a flawed product. I will not return to the Everett store again! Thanks to the Lynnwood manager who did rectify the situation with some excellent customer service. I will shop at that location again!

Oh thank goodness, a business that doesn’t allow pocket-dogs! I love this store, it’s so much cleaner, brighter, and more helpful than Michael’s. I could spend hours, maybe days in a craft store and Joann makes it all the more pleasant. I love the wide aisles and the large selection. I have always been treated well and found the staff to be helpful and friendly. They have terrific coupons and sales and can always find ways to suck the money out of me! Wait, maybe that’s a bad thing…

OH… GOOD… GAWD… tried to do a SIMPLE exchange and I was made to feel like«that girl» who was holding up the line! I prefer going to the Lynnwood store off of 196th Street… bigger, better stocked store with more efficient customer service.

I agree that the store is a chain with predictable stock, but the staff is friendly and competent. The store is clean, perhaps in part because they apparently don’t allow dogs. I’m allergic, so I appreciate buying items not covered in dog dander. I shop here often and have never had a bad experience. In fact, the staff often will point out coupons and sales. I’ll keep coming back.

I used to throw a LOT of money this store’s way… until that fatefull day when they threw me out for carrying my shih tzu puppy in with me under my arm. It was a sweltering summer day, and not the kind of day where a dog is safe in a vehicle. That was over five years ago, and I have not been back since.

I go here all the time. It is nothing amazing since it is a chain store after all, but they have great coupons, the people have always been friendly, and it’s a cheap and easy stop for crafting/sewing staples.
