I really like this store. I’ve been going to Bernina Northwest in Northgate but when the owner closed and sold the business, it was purchased by Georgia so now the are two The Needle & I locations. The Everett store is more convenient for me now and my experience there began with Bernina Mastery classes. The Everett location is larger than the Northgate location so they’re able to carry fabrics, they have a large classroom, and the service center is there. My Mastery class instructor, Katie, is patient as the day is long and a wealth of information and help. Bernina is expensive but the infrastructure is second to none.

Specialty shops are a rare find anymore. And, one so devoted to customers is even more rare. Priceless jewel of Everett. Totally worth the drive from Bellevue. Always have just what I need and the advice to make every project turn out amazing! You are my secret weapon Thanks everyone.

The first time I walked into the needle and I, I was searching for a place to maintenance my Singer sewing machine. They weren’t very friendly and I felt judged that I didn’t have a machine that they carried. I left without help. Fast forward six months later my husband purchased a sewing machine for my birthday and purchased it from Needle and I. I wasn’t thrilled at the idea of going back. But with the new machine purchase you get lessons on how to use it, I was pleasantly surprised. Katie the teacher was super helpful in me getting to know my new machine I will definitely be back. While I was there they seem to know half of the customers names. That was really nice. I guess you need to break through the first visit to really fall in love with this place. they do have a great selection and beautiful things.

What a great shop! It’s mainly for quilters, since their notions are mostly limited to threads, embroidery stuff and needles, but they have a great selection of quilting cottons and a some patterns, too. The staff is very friendly and helpful without constantly hovering over you. Even though their selection isn’t huge, like Pacific Fabrics, it’s not as overwhelming as Pacific can be. They also carry fabrics that I haven’t seen at other shops, which is refreshing. I had a tricky Moda print that I’d been trying to find a coordinating fabric for, and I found exactly what I was looking for at this shop.

I haven’t ever purchased anything from The Needle & I — but they have an umbrella making class — who ever heard of such a thing?! Apparently there is a waiting list for it too! You can even make a double umbrella — my goodness — I can’t wait!
