My experience here was not the best. The star is for the customer service, but really even that wasn’t so great. I came here after rave reviews from my sister. She has sensitive skin like I do, so I decided to check it out. Upon entry, I wasn’t greeted. I ignored that and just looked around as I don’t like employees being on my back anyways. I wanted to try the mineral foundation and had to ask if I could try any on since I had no clue where the samples were. She told me to hold on and someone would help me. After waiting about 5 minutes in this practically empty store, an employee came from the back room. NOW, I don’t know how she got hired personally. Sure, she was nice but: 1. She matched me wrong the first time. She claimed it was bc she matched it to my foundation I had on. I’m no makeup artist but I don’t think that’s how it should be done as someone can have a bunch of other cosmetics on their face(I had blush and bronzer). 2. She double dipped in the concealer when applying makeup to my acne. The pot seemed used and hit pan so I’m assuming she uses this on her clients. I understand germs are everywhere but, it takes about 2 seconds to scoop some on a makeup pan or ANYWHERE else instead of double dipping when I have acne. 3. Didn’t blend my concealer. 4. Didn’t blend my foundation into my neck=mask face 5. Didn’t set my under eye until after I pointed out that my makeup was creasing. 6. Streaky application I left horrified. I didn’t have the guts to tell her how horrible it looked. I looked better going IN. I’m not sure if this is just an isolated incident but, I’m never going back to this location.

I went to this particular location because its located inside the mall. I went with my sister, we stumbled upon this boutique store, without any knowledge of mineral makeup. My sister knew she wanted lipgloss, but before I knew it, I was sitting on a highchair getting my makeup done by the store manager, TaniaM. She was very knowledgeable about the products, had great customer service skills and she was friendly. I closed my eyes… and she explained all of the products she was applying… I felt the face brush swirling on my face… when I opened my eyes, my foundation looked fabulous! My sister was like«wow, you look amazing» LOL. So needless to say, we had lots of questions about mineral makeup and there was no push to buy products. The boutique was clean, organized and well lit. I had a lovely experience there and will definitely go back.

I first heard of Bare Escentuals back in 2002 when they rented space in the hotel I worked in to train their Team. Can you say samples!!! Yay! I have been a über-fan ever since. They have grown in the past 10 years and I am happy to see them showing up in malls now. If you are not familiar with their product, their products are comprised of healthy minerals for your skin. This store had a full offering of their products and the sales Team was knowledgeable and pleasant. They offer samples with purchases and if you have time, they are happy to assist in applying makeup and experimenting with colors. This location is in the Queens Center Mall so it is easy to get to, though if driving, you will have to pay for parking.

I’m bias, I love this place. After years of being a regular and getting to know the staff just as a customer and later as a friend, this place has gotten to be a favorite shopping spot whenever I’m at Queens Center Mall, which isn’t often. The place is clean, well lit, and very well put together, with a great make-up staff which are very personable and also knowledgeable about their product line. They are patient and know what they are doing when it comes to make-up. They will help you try out products and offer services if you have a special occasion coming up where you want to look fabulous. They also offer free samples of products you want to try. Certainly a place you’re going to want to stop by if you’re ever in the neighborhood.
