While it is only buffet food. This place is miles ahead of other buffet places here in El Paso. The only problem I have with it, would be the sushi area. If you can get it FRESH, I’m sure its not bad. But I definitely had some pieces that were hanging out for a while. The rest of the food was hot, and plentiful.(530pm on a Sunday) And they were pretty quick to refill anything they ran out of. I see previous reviewers here complaining about service. But its a buffet place. Dont treat them like dirt, and they take care of you as well as they can. I recommend at least giving this place three tries before you pass judgement.

One question: why is everything cold!!! Everything my husband and I picked up was ice cold! I’m not sure why this place would get anything higher than 2 stars. Everything I had was subpar and I already told my husband we will not be returning. I loved the Chinese food back at home in Miami.

If you want a cheap but good chinese buffet I must say this is the right place to go. There’s a good variety of dishes and also they serve crabs and crawfish(which is definitely a plus for me). The place is not hard to find. There’s a plenty of parking. The restaurant is big. The only thing that I don’t like is it’s kinda dark inside and a little bit updated.

Regular GCB. Food is just buffet quality. The facility is pretty old. Very busy all the time and which is why your server never come back for refills. I see so many people are waiting in line on weekend.(Especially on Sunday after church time) In the back, they have a room for bigger companies. I always have a monthly meeting there on Sunday with 20 – 25 people and the tables there easily fit all of us.

I just wanted to write a review to proclaim my money and appetite go to Grand China Buffet. It as been around for a long time. They have stood the test of buffet time in El Paso for Chinese food option. They simply have their recipes on point every time. Don’t waste your time at any of the other Las Vegas style Chinese buffet locations in town, especially the ones on the east/fareastside. We spent $ 30 bucks at lunch at a new buffet off I-10&Lee Trevino and were not happy. We ate one plate and walked out. The quality was similar to other buffets within a 2 mile radius up Lee Trevino and in the Yarbrough area. That’s a total of 5 places. Please don’t waste your money at these places and make the right decision for good Chinese buffet place. Grand China buffet is always busy so the food is constantly being rotated out. If you don’t want big buffet option definitely recommend the 12 item buffet at Quik wok on Lomaland or Tokoyo House sushi buffet on Airway.

You can laugh at me all you want, but I think the food here is quite good. I think it’s a good sign that there are Asians working in the kitchen, and that the majority of food items are Chinese and not american stuff. I’ve been here often and haven’t had anything bad– except the sushi. But you don’t go to a Chinese place for sushi… They just don’t for sushi in China. Having been to China I really feel their food is pretty authentic I was very surprised about the Peking duck they had– I thought it would be dry and gross, but every time I have had it it’s been tender and moist; a bit bony though. I really like the mussels in black bean sauce, the crawfish and most of all their Chinese dishes. They have a good Mongolian grill and decent deserts for a chines place. Service is as expected for a buffet. Average. Overall I think this is the best Chinese buffet that El Paso offers. Reasonable price too.

They make you pay first and then tell the wait staff what you tipped! The wait staff is nice, and the food was good for a buffet, but the management is awful.

HORRIBLESERVICE!!! they bother you a lot like kinda trying to make you leave fast and the waiters stand really close to you just starting at you. later, my family and I were just talking after we ate and the waiter comes to us and asks us for a «big tip» and he stood next to the table waiting for us to do so. the food is not bad its just the horrible service that ruins it.

Well, what can I say? I’m still full in what’s been 5 hours later lol… Classic buffet status on the couch right now. The location: end of viscount, where Best Buy used to be. Not hard to find. Not hard to park. The inside is clean and spacious. Nice(fake as Fuhhh) but nice big chandelier above the main dining area. Large Buffett, tons of options. You won’t leave hungry. The food: well it’s a buffet. So already if you go in there thinking, oh I’m about to get this authentic Chinese food… Well, you’re dumb. First of all, no real anything comes in buffet form lol. So once you understand that, it’ll be easier to enjoy this. So they have very kind of Chinese food you think you know… And plenty of it. They also have a Mongolian grill, some kinda sushi(not real but made fresh) and even like pizza and mashed potatoes and chicken nugget etc… It’s like someone mixed Golden Corral(little bit) with all of Panda Express lol. Not bad really. Place stays packed. My wife and I, plus 2 drinks and a $ 5 tip to the hardest working waitress I’ve ever seen. Paid a total of $ 27. Not bad. We would’ve paid that or more anywhere else easily, and got less food. Better food, but less lol. This place honestly isn’t that bad as yes I’ll go back. It’s like a super hungry and 4 days off and nothing to do and kinda want cheap Chinese food twice a year kinda place. Good for groups too. Das it Mayne

I like places where I eat to be clean-so this place FREAKEDMEOUT. The carpet had food, and the tables are a little too close together. That said, upon entering we were immediately shown to a table by a courteous hostess, and nice waitress brought us our drinks. There was a lady continuously cleaning the food bars and informing the kitchen which dish was running out. The bathroom left so much to be desired, however as soon as I mentioned it-I saw an employee go in to clean it. My children LOVED the sweet and sour chicken. We loved the stir-fry bar! I think we might return, maybe at a different time of day to avoid so many people.

Food was decent I actually thought it was better then the average buffet, but I saw this crazy looking bug on one of the counters with the food on it. I still ate there but the thought of that bug is haunting me!

We’ve been to other Chinese buffets in El Paso. This is the one we like the best. Not the greatest Chinese food, but as far as «Chinese buffets», this is the only one we will go to. I hate that there is cream cheese in the maki sushi rolls, that’s not how it’s suppose to be!!! Ahhh, hate that!!! Seems like a common thing here in EP.

The variety of food is good, about 8 buffet tables. The orange chicken is top notch, and the sushi has been getting better, they used to only have california rolls, but now they are offering different types. A word of caution, they get extremely busy at dinner and lunch, and you may have to wait. however, this is the best time to go because the food is fresh and constantly being refilled. Don’t go around 3pm because they only have whatever’s left over from the lunch rush.

I hate to give bad reviews… BUT I was not happy with this place. It was not crowded which may partake in some of the reasons why the food tasted old but you make less to put on a buffet and rotate your food out. The shrimp had a slime taste to it and I tried several different kinds to ensure I didn’t get a bad batch but that wasn’t the case. The crawfish meat was brown on the inside and dried to the shell. We have a family of 5 and our bill was $ 70 which did include three iced teas and one of the children is under the age of 12yr. All n all I understand buffets and I know that the concept is appealing to many but when you can’t eat the first plate of food then that concept is lost. For those people who gave a good review then I will chuck it up to a bad day at the buffet but I will not be returning.

Decent food considering it’s a buffet. A bit racist of El Paso though to group all the regions of food provided here as Chinese. If they went to a Mexican restaurant and got Guatemala food, someone would say something.

Loved the buffet and the grill!!! Was a little weary about the temperature the meat is stored. Most Mongolian places I’ve been to have the meat frozen but theirs was not. Other than that, kudos to the cleanliness and I’m very awed by the impressive selection of seafood! Will come back. TIP: wear stretchy pants!

Is Grand China Buffet, henceforth GCB, an elite Chinese buffet? Their dumplings certainly play like they are! These are some serious dumplings, I highly recommend them, unless I’m at the restaurant at the time, in which case STAYOFFTHEM! The sushi rolls are okay by buffet standards and the Mongolian Grill is impressive, no wonder this place is always full! WARNING: You will see tempting buffalo wings, but they are not very yummy, I’d take stars off for this, but wings are not GCB’s core competency.
