This is by far the worst dry cleaners I have ever been to. They don’t even deserve a one star rating! I took my high end Italian made suit in for cleaning. When I picked up my suit the fabric was snagged in multiple areas. I told the clerk(David) that he had damaged my suit, his response was, «the suit was already damaged upon arrival. «which is definitely FALSE. The worst part about the whole situation is that the clerk made me pay for it. I will never return to heartland cleaners! If you don’t care about your clothes, visit heartland cleaners.

I am new to Southern California but not to dry cleaning. I am a legal professional so I require a closet full of suits and such for work. I take great care of my suits and dry clean them as little as possible to avoid unnecessary wear. I also rotate them so as to avoid wearing the same suit more then a few times per year. I had all of my suits and shirts cleaned for my move down here this summer. A few days ago I had my first need of a trip to a dry cleaners. I brought three suits in, one of which was my favorite, and a few shirts, one of which I needed for an NYE party. The young man I worked with seemed kind enough. I just picked up my suits today and brought them home. All but one of the shirts were fine. The shirt I needed for the party had dirty fingerprints on the white collar. I decided it wasn’t enough to complain about and I wouldn’t get the shirt back in time for the party so I left it alone. Then I unwrapped my suits. I went right to my favorite suit to transfer it to one of the cedar hangers I have for all my suits. What I found stopped me cold. Holes!!! Not one or two or three but 5!!! All on the pant legs like someone had run it through a grinder!!! The holes were fresh as evidenced by the clean fraying! I was livid. I called the shop and the first thing they say is that my suit was old.(keep this comment in mind) My suit was purchased in 3⁄2012 and only worn a few times during an externship, a clinic position, and once in the last 6 months for a trial that happened in September. No holes at that point. Who would wear a suit with holes in it to court!!? I go immediately to the shop. I get there and I am sweating Im so heated. I point out the holes and the guy tells me again that the suit is old. He immediately, almost like he already knew where to look, pointed out fraying on the inner edge of my jacket as evidence that it was an old suit. I ask if he notice all of this damage before, during, or after their cleaning of it and he says no. Then how did you go directly to that spot without looking? He asks if I have a reciept for it and smirks at me. I tell him yes I will find it since I bought it online. Then I look at the suit further while its sitting on the counter and Im calling the company I bought it from. I find yet another hole in the jacket sleeve, three more holes in the middle and upper part of the legs, and the crotch looks like it has been scrubbed with a carpet brush. I have NEVER seen a suit with such damage and I have 20 year old suits in my closet!!! 9 holes and 3 major abrasions in one suit! And they didnt notice ANY of that according to them. But somehow they knew right where to look for abrasions I hadnt noticed yet and had already come to the conclusion that the suit was«really old» before even seeing it again. Really? Sure… It almost appears as though they damaged it by accident then just went ahead and destroyed the rest of it to make it look like it was old and came in that way to get out of responsibility for it! Every bit of damage on that suit looks fresh as hell! That suit was the best cared for suit in my closet and now it looks like its been to Afganistan! The blue suit I bought at the same time as this suit and took in at the same time looks new as it should look along with every other suit in my closet. A 2+ year old suit shouldnt have that much wear and damaged even if it isnt being rotated. Suits can last decades if they are cared for! I know! I have some! The owner claims he is going to send it to a «lab» of some sort to have it looked at to see where the damage came from. Im interested to see how that turns out. Bottom line? If you dont really care about your suits and shirts, fine bring em here. They are overpriced but what the hell. If you dont care then fine. But if you care for your suits and spend more then 10 bucks for em at a garage sale or something then do not bring them here! They are incompetent at the very least and willfully dishonest at the worst. If they take care of this situation properly then I will adjust or remove this review. If it remains and does not change then you can assume that they did not take care of their mistake.

I procrastinated and needed my uniform cleaned and pressed the same day. They got it done and did a great job in doing so. Their have friendly and courteous customer service and their prices are very competitive in this market. They even took my items after they were closed! Can’t say that about many other places if at all. My only«complaint» would be the tiny and somewhat awkward parking lot. Outside of that, I would highly recommend this place for all your dry cleaning needs!

Sorry, Patrick! I know, I know… this review is WAY overdue. Here it is now so you can stop giving me the stank eye whenever I walk in, you bastid. :) Of course, certain jobs come pre– burdened with certain occupational hazards: firefighters risk grave injury; veterinarians face cruelty visited upon poor souls, police officers with their midsection spare tire compliments of Krispy Kreme and gas station coffee, lawyers live with indiscriminate loathing by the rest of humanity, etc… you get the point. Line of work I am in, for lack of better description, I am pickled in cigarette smoke. Variably, as an Executive Host, I deal with high rollers of the casino. However, the environment in which I must operate may, at times, become filled to capacity with the unwashed mass, desperately — and angrily, might I add — puffing away on their preferred chimney sticks. At certain casino that shall remain anonymous, the smoke ebbs and flows like a tide of carcinogen, dense and smelly. Eschewing the obvious explanation, this constant marinating in cancer cloud and fried food does a number to one’s attire. At the end of my day, my suits smell like I’d spent the day cleaning a chimney with a stick of butter and inevitably, the suits end up at the dry cleaners, of course. Certainly, I have tried a number of dry cleaners; several in El Cajon and some in La Mesa area. Some may offer a quicker turnaround time, but at the sake of a proper job. Some may be more thorough, but I don’t like to wait five days for my dry cleaning. Some other dry cleaner that shall remain anonymous(:cough Jamacha Cleaners cough:), just suck. I recall that my first experience with Heartland Cleaners was about a year ago when I’d first moved down to San Diego. After a few bad experiences(see above congestion), I decided to give Heartland a try. At the fear of losing my precious few suits I now had left, I only brought in a couple of items. Loaded with few dress shirts and a set of suit, I drove up to Heartland. Clearly, I’m not someone you’d describe as «good with directions.» In fact, my ex– girlfriend used to call me a road-tard. It’s an occurrence with alarming frequency that I’m baffled by the drive– thru of certain establishments. First of all, how many dry cleaners have you seen with a drive– thru? What??? Really? Well, I hadn’t! As luck would have it, Heartland does have a drive– thru. So naturally, I drive through it backwards, with the driver’s side facing toward the street. As I pulled up, I could see a young man’s face looking out the window at me. That was my first meeting with Patrick, the ever– patient cashier at Heartland. He looked out the window at me, again, patiently waiting for me to realize that I’m now going to have to pull through and park unless I’d like to perform some acrobatics to somehow launch my clothes across my car. Determining that this Asian man must be unfamiliar with American concept of drive– thru, Patrick kept a leveled gaze. Then after some raised eyebrows and pointed look toward the parking spots, I pulled through, parked, then trudged into the building. As soon as I walked through, he drawled«Hi. How can I help you?» in a quietly but friendly manner. I stammered what I– I– I wanted and what my absolutely requirements were: shirts — washed and pressed with light starch as I don’t want to crunch every time I waved, and suit — dry cleaned with no smokey smell. 3 shirts — he looked them over, put aside gingerly, then he looked critically at my nicotine– pickled suit, and quietly stated, «Ok, we’ll have to take extra care with this one, then.» Well, I appreciate that, young man. He took down my info, rang me up, gave me the ticket. I glanced at the ticket and noticed something interesting. 3 shirts and a suit dry cleaned here cost $ 5 less than what another place had charged me. 0h, what have I found in this little corner of East County? Have I found my new go– to dry cleaner? Quite possibly. Could this be the start of a beautiful new client — cleaner partnership? Definitely. Since that day, as long as I’ve been stuck in East County, Heartland has been my dry cleaner of choice. 1 thing you should know: they actually close at 6pm, not 6:30… although several times, I’ve called and begged Patrick to… stayyyyyy just a little bit looooonger, and he was more than willing to oblige this directionally– challenged, forever– tardy, but now loyal customer. We often overlook just how much those in the service industry go out of our way to accommodate us and I think Patrick is a shining example of someone who’s willing to go beyond the typical call of duty. Are all dry cleaners the same? Not necessarily. Though they all perform the same type of function, especially for dry cleaners, it’s the little extra touch, just the willingness to accommodate the customer that sets the exceptional apart from… well… Anonymous ones.

I needed my uniform pressed on a very short notice and after 45 minutes of searching online and calling around, this is the only place that I could find that dry cleans and presses on site AND on the same day. I am so thankful. It saved me from the pain of trying to steam out wrinkles with a cheap hotel iron! I dropped my uniform off by 9:45 and it was ready by 2pm. It looks great. I paid just under $ 17 for just a press but it is a blazer, slacks, and blouse and a rush job so the cost didn’t quite matter much to me. The location was very easy to find and the young man behind the counter was very polite. I hope I don’t find myself in such a pickle again but if I do, I now know just the place to go!
