We first used Chermak to repair a hole in the outside siding of our house. We were so impressed with the contractor’s work ethic and demeanor that we requested him for our recent kitchen remodel. Chermak employees are professional, organized, friendly, and seriously concerned about their client’s thoughts about the project. We had weekly meetings about the remodel and upcoming week’s activities. Our kitchen remodel grew into the adjacent family room and powder room. Any requests were quickly addressed and often the same day. The quality of their work is impressive. Although our remodel is done, they stand by for anything missed. We highly recommend Chermak Construction.

Visited them at the home show. The rep on site was good. He answer questions we had and basically sold us on company. Called 6 weeks ago to schedule consultation, they said they were booked for next 6 weeks and would call. Did not receive a call. When inquired about it they responded promptly and offered to schedule appointment. Then responded back they were too busy to see us until late in fall.

There can be no such thing as a perfect contractor… the job is just fraught with opportunities for imperfection. I don’t know of a human run contractor shop that can earn five stars. But… if you’re looking for a solid, local contractor, with people who care about quality because they rely on their reputation, then Chermak is a good bet. One more motivator, they pay their employees well, and it shows with company loyalty and a strong work ethic. We had lots of odds and ends done in our house: had a big walk in closet framed up and finished in our basement, had a basement bathroom with an exposed ceiling drywalled and new lighting and ventilation installed, and various other little handyman jobs. The world is real, so there were unexpected things found during the job that required replanning, and yes, we had a wire cut accidentally. So there were a few rework items, but they were handled so well that it actually served as a talking point for endorsement. Finish work on the drywall and doors was excellent. New doors are so perfect that it’s still a zen-like experience to swing them … .seriously… it’s a 1960 house, so to have things squared in there perfectly, swinging noise-free, is a cause for celebration. Other doors installed by less expensive contractors still have annoying quirks about them… just not quite right. My experience with getting bids is that Chermak’s bids typically won’t be the lowest. But. and this is the clincher… their bids don’t grow as much during execution, as they are very professional, so their estimates are just more realistic. So, to recap. If you’re looking to do some work on your house, and you want to get people in there who are there to make sure you’re happy, and dedicated to quality results… call Chermak.
