I completely agree with Erica L. My experience is with the courtesy cleaners on Toll Gate Road in Warwick. They ruined the piping trim on one of my favorite winter coats. I know it’s just a coat and a relatively inexpensive one, but I was still really upset by it. They stated it was a manufacturer defect but they had previously and successfully cleaned it twice before without any issues. So someone really messed up. I was told I wasn’t going to get charged for it being cleaned… gee thanks! No offer to get the coat fixed or to wave the fee for my other dry cleaning. Just no charge for screwing up my coat! How thoughtful! This business seems to have zero accountability for their mistakes. Prompting me to call the manufacturer to see if there’s anything that can be done? Please. Horrific customer service and quality of work. I will never go back there.

Don’t trust Courtesy Cleaners with anything you want back in one piece! Now I totally understand that accidents happen. But twice now Courtesy Cleaners has ruined my husband’s clothing. The first occasion, they were cleaning an expensive suit.(It literally was more expensive than my wedding dress.) When my husband picked it up, then informed him that I must have torn the waistband on my way into the store — definitely untrue. When pressed on it, they admitted it was their fault and took the item back to repair(another week for that). This last time, they destroyed another pair of pants. They look like velociraptors got to them — large tears down the liners.(See photos.) When we called the store upon realizing this, they just said that it happens, and that we should just cut out the liners. Truly bad service at this place — both in the shoddy work that they do, but also in how they treat their customers.

I started taking my shirts here to get cleaned and pressed a couple of months ago. Beforehand on Sundays, I’d take out my shirts I wanted to wear for the week and iron them. Five shirts took less than an hour, which, in the greater scheme of things, is not such a huge time commitment, but there was always something I’d rather be doing. So I thought I’d find a cleaners near my house that could do this onerous chore for me. This place is one of a few dry cleaners nearby, but it has the advantage of being in the same plaza as my home-base Stop and Shop, so I gave them first dibs. Over the past couple of months they’ve done a good job cleaning and pressing my shirts. I’m sure other places would do just as good a job, though. I will say the staff is always friendly, polite and professional when I’ve dropped off and picked up. The woman who is there most frequently calls me by name(Mr. L) every time I come in, which is always nice. I did stop by a place near my office to compare prices and Courtesy is a few pennies more expensive, but I don’t see that as a reason to change cleaners seeing as I don’t have any complaints otherwise.
