Worst Haircut Ever. I went to Roosters because of all the good reviews I’ve seen on Unilocal.I travel frequently, and as such don’t have the ability to keep a consistent barber, so usually my experiences are either hit or miss. This was a HUGE miss. I have long hair, about shoulder length, and a beard, so I was hoping to get a trim and my beard shaped, which was $ 50. I walk in on a Friday morning and was getting checked into their computer system by the barber, who was having some issues, I asked him how long it took for him to get the hang of it, and he said he’d been there 3 weeks. This was the first danger sign. When I sat in the chair, I was describing how I wanted my hair shortened to a respectable length somewhat mark twain-ish is the best way I can describe it. What I told him was to keep it long but professional, and absolutely NOFADE. He was already cutting, before I even had a bib on. The other barber there(don’t know her name) was telling this guy to put the cape on and he was like oh, right. Second danger sign. She then said, «visualize what you’re going to do before you start, he has a lot of hair.» This was the Third and final danger sign, the one that I should have taken and just walked out then and there. But I didn’t, so here’s the rest of my cautionary tale. Over the course of an hour and a half this guy cut my hair in ways that I could have done better with kitchen scissors and one eye. For example, he cut the back of my hair straight across, like hick as can be. Eventually, there was about nothing left. He asked me if I trusted him, and I was like, do whatever you want at this point. I walked out of there $ 50 lighter with a hitler youth fade. I’m infuriated, mostly because now I have to go to supercuts and get a high and tight because I have no hair left at all. It wasn’t even an even fade, my head is down to skin in some parts. Did I mention I look like a nazi? That day someone at the bar informed me the gestapo were coming. I’m half jewish and look like a fascist. Never Again. That being said, if you want a hitler youth cut, they do a sub-standard job for big money.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. The manager/barber Steve DiLorenzo is very professional and takes the time to make your haircut look awesome. Both my son and I have been getting our hair cut here for over 3 yrs. This barbershop is the real deal.

Been going to Mike at Roosters for at least a year. Consistently a great haircut and enjoyable time. Few places offer the same experience!

Third visit here. Last two times, I walked out looking good. This time was a god damned horror show. I showed the barber a couple pictures of what I wanted, a somewhat unique haircut. I walked out with what could best be described as a boy’s regular. And the beard… the beard. I had a good six inches of growth. I told the barber«I like the length, could you just even it up a little?» I ended up with basically no beard whatsoever. If I wanted my face gone over with a number three clipper, I damn sure wouldn’t have paid someone fifty dollars to do it. I’ll never, ever be going back.

The shop is very clean and the staff carry themselves professionally. I made an appointment for some beard work. I explained that I was trying to grow out my beard for the first time and just wanted some clean lines to shave up to and blend in the sideburns. The barber cleaned up the edges, but then took the clippers and shaved it down to next to nothing. I paid for the work and left disappointed. Once in my car I took a closer look at his trim work and the edge under my chin was jagged and there was a spot on my mustache that was notched off. I won’t be going back

Had a cut and a shave here a few weeks and was amazed at the experience. Having never had a shaving experience like that, hot and cold towels, etc, it was a first time experience. I walked out very relaxed and knowing I would be returning again.

Got exactly what I wanted, my barber was quick to respond to what I needed, and was the kind of guy you could chat with. I’ve bounced from NYC, to Boston, to Baltimore for haircuts and this is one of the best experiences I’ve had. For the price and quality there’s no reason you shouldn’t tip these guys your time.

I’ve been here three times now. The first time I tried the Gentleman’s Choice which is a bit pricey but worth it. I would compare this to a woman’s spa day, as you get a great treatment with haircut, beard trimming, face shave etc… etc. They take real good care of you when you get the Gentleman’s Choice. Regardless if you’re there for the works, or just for a haircut I have had a great time each visit. I’ve had 3 different barbers and all three times I’ve had a haircut that puts other businesses to shame. I won’t say which ones, but they are not nearly as FANTASTIC, or SUPER as Rooster’s!!! I am now a Rooster’s client for life. Good to note, if you check in on Unilocal there is a discount you can receive too.

I was in need of a haircut yesterday and when I went to one of the Supercuts I normally go to and saw that the line in front of me was 4 deep I knew I had to find someplace else to go. I had recently received a direct mail offer($ 5 off any service) for this place, which was on my way home anyway, so I decided to stop in to see what it was all about. I was greeted courteously by three young men upon my arrival. I noted nice, large barber chairs and nice wood furnishings lining the stations. I also noted a lack of other clients, which concerned me a bit. I asked for a haircut, and decided to give a shave a whirl as well. I have never had anyone else give me shave before in my entire life. I will admit to having spa treatments in the past, including facials and massages, etc. Well, let me tell you, the shave was totally amazing. It was so soothing and relaxing I almost fell asleep in the chair. Terrence explained each step as he did it, going from a hot towel, pre-shave oil, hot foam shaving cream, to after-shave treatment and cold towel(I’m sure I missed something in there, but there was so much going on). After my shave, he did my haircut. Was it better than something I could get at Supercuts? I’m not sure, but I(and my wife) think it looks great. Overall, it was an excellent experience. Terrence and the rest of the guys were friendly and professional throughout. They even offered me a beverage when I initially entered the store(I passed this time). He took his time(the whole experience lasted just under an hour), and paid attention to every detail. I hope other guys take advantage of this place and they do enough volume to stay in business, but not so much that I would have to wait when I return in the future for another shave and a haircut!
