Cool, cool and more cool whimsical gardening stuff, a very unique assortment of fountains and garden statues. Chris, the owner is very knowledgeable about local plants, a big plus when you strive to use natives and organics! He and his crew installed very large yuccas and gave us a fantastic deal! If you need a treat or just a short get a way, stop off at this beautiful and natural garden fest right before Bell Springs Road on 290.

My favorite stop on our recent day trip from Austin to Johnson City. Coolest indoor and outdoor art I’ve seen in one place. We walked through the wonderful paths under all the trees and everywhere we looked was something different and exciting. Beautifully and creatively designed metal gates, wonderful wind moving whirligigs, and lots of unique items. There was this awesome giant concrete eye hanging from a tree outside. It had red glass for the iris and wire eyelashes. The coolest thing there. And lots of art made from repurposed items. Inside there are several small rooms with different kinds of art: paintings, sculptures, jewelry etc. And much of what they sell, both indoors and out, is made by local artists. Check it out. You’ll love it. And if you’re headed towards Johnson City check out the Sculpture Ranch. You’ll like it too.

Definitely an amazing find! A unique assortment of organic and inorganic art collections, all naturally set in little grottos of creative expression. We were also very impressed by Chris, the owner of the shop. To better illustrate the point, our dog passed away and we were desperately seeking a unique stepping stone for his burial site. After calling at least a dozen garden shops with no success, we stumbled upon Sol’stice. We lost our phone connection during the call. Chris called us back immediately to complete a conversation abruptly interrupted by cell connectivity failures. We then visited his magical grounds and he walked with us to help us in our quest. We then found the perfect piece — a stained concrete«mushroom cap» with a multi-colored inlaid glass floral design– that could be easily adapted to fit our needs. Chris was incredibly kind and understanding, going above and to listen and support us on this very painful day. We will definitely be back to visit when we are better able to enjoy his unique assortment of wonderful art celebrating color, texture, movement, and sound. Check out their Facebook page to see some of their wonderful work.

Chris designed and installed a crushed granite walking path and a faux river bed in our backyard. His design was an excellent compliment to our existing landscaping and really pulled the whole yard together. His suggestions for plants and accent rock features were excellent and we could not be more pleased.

Solstice Garden Expressions is the most fabulous place to view and purchase outdoor sculptures, quality yard art, garden gates, fountains and fire pits in Central Texas and I’m pretty sure I’ve shopped them all! Each piece is a unique creation made by Chris, the owner, or another individual artist and custom orders are welcome. I have purchased many pieces of outdoor art from Chris since discovering Solstice 3 years ago and my yard is now a beautiful, interesting and fun place to spend time with all the treasures from Solstice. I’ve also used Solstice to design a landscape plan and implement it with plants, rocks, and trees and couldn’t be happier with the results. Chris has an eye for design that is superior to any other landscape designer. I recently mentioned to Chris that I wanted to hang an outdoor ceiling fan over a deck in the middle of my backyard, but didn’t want to build a gazebo/structure to hang it from. He came up with a plan to build and install a unique, artsy arm that holds a ceiling fan yet is barely noticeable and blends in with the landscape. I now have moving air in the middle of the yard and can enjoy it, even in August. Check out Solstice, it’s the best!!!

Chris redid the edging in 2 beds, added gravel and mulch and planted some heat tolerate rosemary in a sunny, hot bed between the sidewalk and street in the south side of the house. The price was good and they cleaned up after. We liked him so much we are going to have more done later and I would recommend to anyone.

If you live in Austin or are headed to the area, you must make a trip out to Dripping Springs to Solstice Garden Expressions. There is an incredible assortment of original art, most of which is made by the super cool owner, Chris. He’ll walk you around, teach you about plants(which they also sell), and tell you everything about any piece of art in the place. And the store itself is so cool! Part indoor gallery, part outdoor gallery with walking trails filled with art. The indoor gallery has paintings, jewelry, sculpture, gazing globes, handmade soap… a ton of original stuff. Seriously, this place is Austin cool without the Austin prices. Chris’s signature pieces are his handmade solstice suns and fire pits. Oh, and he can custom make anything you want. Check it out. I promise it won’t disappoint.

This place is pure magic. Eclectic art from local artists inside the converted house and fascinating outdoor sculptures and fixtures on the trails behinds the house. The owner/artist/artist rep Chris is a lovely, generous soul. Happened upon them on a day when several of the artists were hanging out and got to sit and have a drink and laugh with them and talk about their work. I didn’t buy anything — hope someday I can! — but clearly this is an effort of love of art and they treated us like special guests just because we appreciated what they were doing out here. Cannot wait to go back and take more friends. Just beautiful. You should go!!!

A second Heaven! Not only is the art a site to see but the plants, the people and the experience. This is a place that needs to be experienced by many more! I am certain you will not just visit Sol’stice once but over and over! Great for all ages a Disneyland for those who enjoy Our Mother Earth; Sol’stice also offers opportunities to take a piece of their goodness to our home — its hard not to walk away with just one thing. What’s also cool is that its a new experience every time. My wife, son and I visit the Sol’stice at least once a month just to take a step back and be around good things! This beautiful Mother’s Day Weekend my son and I took my mom from out of state here and she loved it! Thank you for being in Dripping Springs Sol’stice!

Yard. Art. Mecca. Seriously insane assortment of yard art and garden goodies, as well as a decent selection of plants. Eclectic, artistic and very Austin-y. If you’re driving out towards Drip, and need to supplement your pink flamingos and gnomes, stop in.
