When did Village Inn become more fancy? It was all clean and nice and a far cry from the«gimme a pot of coffee and I’ll just smoke cigarettes all night» days. The food is good, consistent is the best word. Though, VI is still VI. Server was good but then I could also hear employees in the back laughing and cursing. Gotta love that VI charm. They had a phone charging station up front. I didnt try it, but i think it was free, too. Nice touch. tl;dr — you could probably come here with grandma.

The food was actually pretty good, but I wish I would have taking it home. The service was sufficient, but very mechanical. The server seemed very concerned about following some procedure as opposed to taking an order and being nice. You could just see her running through a mental checklist in fear of missing something. The ambiance is horrible. I felt like I was eating breakfast in an assisted care dining hall. No smells, no background noise — just still and sterile. Sure takes away from the experience. The meal is also overpriced for what you get.

This place has really gone downhill. I was here last week and ordered two eggs, toast and bacon, nothing fancy. The eggs were fine, the toast was bread and the bacon, way under cooked. Undercooked food wasn’t the worst thing about this place. I used the rest room. My feet stuck to the floor from dried urine and there was dried feces on the wall in the women’s restroom. This was not anything recent. It looked as though cleaning of the restrooms was a quick mop of the floor, where the restroom never is really cleaned. I couldn’t wait to get out of there to put my shoes in water from the melted snow outside to wash them off from the sticky urine on the bottom. This after I tracked it all over the carpet. A man sitting directly across from me left after sitting for 15 minutes waiting for service. I will never be back, I have been there many times before and was shocked as to how bad it had gone downhill. The health department needs to get there before they make someone seriously ill.

We came here for free skillet Sunday, and won’t be back any time soon. The food(except for the pie) is just«meh.» It looks like it’s assembly lined, and it tastes ok. I would’ve given VI two stars, but the pie(white chocolate cherry dream) and our service, was outstanding. If this is your only option for breakfast, go for it. If, however, you have a backup plan, you may want to go with plan B.

Awful service. Just waited in the front for 12 – 15 minutes for a hostess to even come out and acknowledge me. Nothing. Then grabbed a seat and the hostess — who saw me standing there the whole time — walks right by me and goes to greet another pair of diners, proceeds to seat them and take their order?! When I called the manager after I left, his explanation to me is that he understaffed for that day and also their policy is not to acknowledge people who seat themselves. Say what? Best avoided.

Well — sadly… service was not so great this last time around. I’ve normally had a wonderful experience at VI and the staff were very attentive. This last time though was a bit of a bummer. Deborah was our server and it took her about 10 minutes at least to come back to our table after we asked her for just a couple minutes to look over the menu. The food was a bit dry. The supervisor went around to a few of the tables but never made it over to ours because I would have nicely mentioned how our visit wasn’t going so great. Wednesday = free pie night so we asked for our pie to go. Our server brings out our pies on plates and had completely forgotten that we had said we’d like it to go. It was about 9:30 at night so the restaurant wasn’t all that busy. Sadly — it may be a while before we return to this location again. The one in Highlands Ranch is pretty decent.

Great friendly & attentive service! The pot pie was so yummy! My husband got the big Country skillet & said it was good. My first time coming here. We took home some banana cream pie & I hope it’s awesome!

Worst service I have ever had. Sat ignored for 10 minutes after being seated. Went and found the manager, she took our order. The waitress brought our drinks, apologized and swore the service would be «all uphill from here». Came back with our food, which was very good, and then never came back to check on us or offer a refill on beverages. Thanks Trish for reminding me why I don’t Village Inn.

Waited 45 minutes for our meal. We never got it. Watched several other tables complain about poor service too. The server did not care, the manager did not care either. There are lots of other choices in the area. Do not go here!

#VillageInn This location always seems understaffed. We come for the Friday Fish Fry at 5pm. But the fish is never ready at 5, more like 520−530pm. Free pie Wednesday is good. But they were out of coconut cream! There is always a wait from seating to beverages to getting the order in to drink refills to cashing out. I am a patient person. So the service doesn’t bother me at the time. Until I reminisce and write the reviews. The most glaring aspect to this location: the excruciatingly slow understaffed service. I have been sitting on this review for at least 3 visits, hoping that the service would miraculously change. I believe it has gotten worse. Bummer. Our Mohawked waiter was the best part of the meal. He was awesome and made the review two stars instead of one. He was seemingly the only waiter working in the whole place while managers stood around. He worked hard trying to appease the other impatient patrons. I was pleasant and offered him kudos. Last resort should be the VI. Avoid if you can. You’ll be glad you did.

The meal was very reasonable. However, the service was not good, and the service was slow.

I’m so disappointed! My son wanted breakfast for dinner more than anything and I happily suggested we go to village inn. We stood at the front for literally 10 minutes without so much as a look in our direction. Staff walked past us like we were invisible. So we went down the street to IHOP.

We go here once in a while for a quick, inexpensive breakfast. Usually it isn’t vey busy and isn’t bad. Today when we went, the parking lot was full and when we walked in, the place was packed. Not only did we get sat right away, the overall service was outstanding and the food was very well prepared and tasty. The manager went to every table to ensure the customers were happy, and the experience was way above and beyond what someone might expect from a Village Inn.

Tried the Chicken Pot Pie, instead of my usual Cobb Salad, and was pleasantly surprised. Crusty was good; filling had many chunks of chicken on a creamy sauce. I would definitely get it again.

Okay, let me justify why I’m giving a diner 5 stars. Part of it is nostalgia. My grandfather loved this place and I spent a lot of time in my childhood with him here. Now why I love this place as an adult, first off the Apple Pie. If you are in need of one for an occasion check them out, for $ 8 you can get a fresh baked amazing pie. My sister and I love to catch up over their apple pie ala mode. The second reason is their skillets. I absolutely love skillets. I sometimes get major cravings for their south western skillet with green chili. I live in California now so only get this when I visit Colorado. There is something sad about not having ready access to pork green chili! Add in breakfast potatoes, cheese, peppers, chicken, onions, eggs and salsa and you have a perfect breakfast. If you want diner food that won’t turn your stomach, a friendly down to earth place to eat and nice staff, you can’t go wrong! How I miss this place being so far away!

I only know this place late at night after The Denver Astronomical Society has it’s Open House nights and Star Parties at DU’s Chamberlin Observatory and I can easily say this is the best Village Inn experience ever! There is pride in the preparation of the food, the manager was really friendly and responsive to our group’s needs and the décor is retro space-age. I’ve been more than once and it’s always great!(I’d hate to come in the morning and risk disappointment.) Also, the place is Absolutely Brimming with brain power(think Big Bang Theory). This Village Inn is out-of-this-world altogether! P. S. You may find you are not the smartest person in the room.

This place has the nicest hostess ever. I love coming here just because of her.

I’ve eaten at many a Village Inn, but I was particularly pleased with my customer service at this location. I’ve gotten the run around a few times before about substitutions and such, but my server was awesome — I told him what I wanted and he made it happen. He specifically asked the cooks not to put the sausage patties in my biscuits and when they accidentally did, I didn’t mind, I just took them out — but he noticed and apologized, offering me a free piece of pie to make up for it! I’ll certainly be back for future breakfast feasts here!

Get your Thanksgiving pies here. Yummy!!! We got the pecan pie and pumpkin pie and they were absolutely delicious! Always come here on Wednesday for the free pie(you can just buy a cup of coffee). Service is always fast, friendly and efficient!

On my last day of work at a job I didn’t like, I ordered a heaping plate of French toast with all of the bells and whistles. I’m talking strawberries, whipped cream, and syrup. The plate was so huge, it had the people at the next table turning their heads to take a look! The food was hot and fresh with soft and sweet strawberries and light and fluffy whipped cream. I couldn’t have asked for a more delectable breakfast-for-dinner dining option. The waiter was also very nice, and only snickered a little when I ordered a slice of their chocolate truffle pie to follow up my already extravagant expenditure. My only disappointment was that the sliver of pie I decided to save for later melted in my car despite the late-night snow fall. Silly me for letting something as special expertly crafted chocolate mousse go to waste!
