They literally have the best hummus ever! I come all the way here mostly for the hummus! The other food is also good but the hummus is amazing.

Of all the great Middle Eastern places on this stretch of Colorado Boulevard, I think this one might just barely win out as my favorite. The menu is pretty much the same as the others, but in choosing between all of them, we tend to end up here the most. There’s a state secret they must have to make the fattoush salad, because it’s awesome. Get that and the Sultan combo(meat and veggie platter, pretty much covers all the bases) and your party of two is good to go. Meats are always consistently prepared and their hummus is so good. Plenty of choices, all good. Definitely a longtime fan.

Great vegetarian platter and chicken shawarma. The hummus and baba ganoush are to-die-for. I have been multiple times and these are the only dishes I have ordered, but people I have gone with have always enjoyed their meals. I have only been for lunch but think it would be a nice spot for dinner. There is a small beer and wine selection and the ambiance is nice.

House of Kabob has a delicious and generous vegetarian platter: hot, crispy and well spiced falafel, creamy and addicting hummus, delicious and refreshing baba ganoush, and fresh salad, tabbouleh, rice and stuffed grape leaves. It’s the sort of meal where you want to keep eating long after you’re full because everything tastes so good. The dining area is comfortable with booths and tables, and the parking lot is free and spacious. I went for the first time with three other coworkers and everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was fast and friendly. I’ll definitely return.

This place rocks my world! I literally love going here and it’s always a treat. My friend is from Lebanon and he only goes here! It’s authentic and delicious. My absolute favorite dish is shish taok. Don’t ever take it off the menu, House of Kabob. Their Hummus! YUM! Highly Highly recommend, I won’t go anywhere else for Middle Eastern food.

Never had anything I didn’t love here. Blending of spices is superb so that each dish is delicious. Service is always attentive and eager to please. I have been here many times and will keep coming back. Great value for the money.

I have been going to House of Kabob since I was little munchkin and unfortunately, the constant change of ownership over the past decade has really shone through on the quality of the food and service in a negative way. Coming from a Persian background, I’ve developed my pallet to really understand the right blend of spices and taste when it comes to Persian food prep. This could also be why I will be so critical of this location. They remodeled the inside, but not in a good way. The floors were replaced with crap concrete that gave the atmosphere a very cold and ominous feel. I walked in and I immediately found myself saying, «This can’t possibly be the same House of Kabob!» Our server was really nice and did a good job but the restaurant was understaffed, clearly indicated by the fact that our waiter was the only person to make up «the staff.» I could get over the atmosphere and lack of staff if the food, usually their bread and butter, was what it used to be. But It wasn’t. Complaints: — The Persian Salad had no flavor whatsoever. Lacked the citrus component and spices. Tasted like bland chopped veggies. — Rather then leaving the lentils whole in the lentil soup, they seem to have just have thrown it in a blender and destroyed the only component that gives the plate a little texture, THELENTILS. — The eggplant appetizer is what made me get over my fear of eating eggplants when I was younger and now it somehow has placed the fear right back in me! Sooooooo bland, and again, no spices at all. — The Lebanese wings were actually my favorite dish but it’s still listed under complaints because HOWINTHEHECKISMYFAVORITEDISHIN A MIDDLEEASTERNRESTAURANTGOINGTOBEWINGS! These were just spicy garlic wings, although good, that they decided to throw«Lebanese» in front of the name and hope nobody noticed. WELL I NOTICED! — Everything else was subpar that we ordered, nothing gave me that home-cooked, authentic Persian feel that I had grown so accustomed for this restaurant. My opinion, the constant change of ownership has really damaged the authenticity of the food and the atmosphere and it’s a dam shame because this used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I don’t know if whoever in the kitchen or the owners is of actual Middle Eastern decent, but something needs to seriously change for me to ever go back to the establishment.

I have been to this place several times and it hasn’t let me down. I know that the service may take longer than some places but this isn’t fast food. It takes time to achieve quality. I recommend this place to anyone who wants good food in a good atmosphere.

The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because the falafel(that took FOREVER). And that’s it. And I say FOREVER because we were one of two tables in the entire restaurant. And I understand I went on a Tuesday, so it wasn’t gonna be busy or anything but it was my BIRTHDAY. First off I’d like to state I have many Persian friends including my roommate so I KNOW Persian food. I’ve had it all, from the cheap gyro lunch specials, to the 5 star Persian fine dining experience, and even home cooked Persian meals. And this, is nothing more than some cheap, lunch special gyro place trying to be more than it is. I guess I should’ve trusted Unilocal and my intuition when I pulled into this dump, but my idiot friend said it was good so I came(ONMYBIRTHDAY). First I notice they don’t even HAVE kashkebadenjan which is a very popular eggplant dish which is one of my FAVORITES, I guess it was too high class for this place. So then we order our waters and appetizers, and by the way at this point I’m still being optimistic(it is my birthday after all) and trying to be positive and hopeful. She comes back with our drinks a little later than I would’ve liked but nothing crazy. Then when the apps finally come out, only one comes out first, then I notice the bread. WOW. Could they have bought ANYCHEAPERBREAD??? And I say bought cause they CLEARLY don’t make it here. I mean this is stuff not even the college town Persian place I used to go in Atlanta has. It literally looks like it was frozen. Bread is a pretty clear indicator of the quality of restaurant you’re in. Then we proceeded to order our food once the falafel finally came out(which by the way was delicious), and my friend got the Sultan Combo which was like a chicken a beef combo with a bunch of sides and I got the most expensive dish which was the Soltani Combo which was a strip of «filet mignon»(not sure if they know what that even is), and when the food came out, I took my first bite of «filet» and it was COLD. Not luke warm, not warm, not a little cold, COLD. I tell the waitress, she takes it and brings it back in a SECOND(indicating they just threw it back in the grill thus overcooking my original request of medium to well-done) and it still came out LUKEWARM. I think it is safe to say I am NEVER coming back to this sh*thole again. Maybe I am spoiled from living in Atlanta where there are a higher class of Persian dining so my standards are a little high. OH and I forgot to mention the SMALLESTANDCHEAPESTTASTINGKOOBIDEHIVEEVERHADGROSS. Oh and both my roommate and I felt mildly sick the entire night after. Do yourself a favor, if you want good Persian, make it yourself, or move to Atlanta.

Grabbed a chicken shwarma before hittin the town. Came out with mayonnaise?! I hear kitchen Spanish in the back ground. Try it with mayonnaise. Delicious.

First off… the hummus was sooo tasty! I have eaten boring hummus all my life now at other places. Next I ordered lamb chops. Best decision ever. Lamb chops were very flavorful! Give it a try and you’ll know what I’m talking about.

I’ve been to this small restaurant in a faded strip mall for lunch or an early supper maybe 6 or 8 times over the last 15 years, and have thoroughly enjoyed the food on each visit. I absolutely love their Ara-Yes appetizer — ground lamb with onions and spices in between two pitas. I’ve had kabobs, stews, falafel and shawarma sandwiches, and other delectable Middle Eastern treats on my various visits, and have never been disappointed by the amount or quality of the food. I brought my wife and son here on a Saturday a couple of weeks ago after watching his CU Rugby team play DU. My wife and I split the Ara-Yes and we all shared a falafel appetizer. My wife got the beef kabobs with extra salad and no rice, I got the standard beef kabobs, and our son got the lamb kabob. Everyone absolutely loved the food. The salads that come with the appetizers and meals are big, fully flavored, and unique. Our waiter was very curt and brusque, and the TV was showing weird(to me) Middle Eastern pop music videos. Apparently every Middle Eastern pop music video is filmed on the same beach with the same extras dancing the same dance — I quickly grew tired of them. I highly recommend this little restaurant’s food. The atmosphere and service could use some improvement, but if you want some seriously great Eastern Mediterranean food, come here.

AMAZING. Just amazing. I pocked this place because it was really the only place on Colorado st. With people in in on a Monday night at 8pm. It looked interesting from the street but I was unsure how the food would be, but I was feeling adventurous. It was sooo good. Though the menu is not exciting, the actual food was awesome. This will be my new spot for some quality ethnic food! I highly recommend this place. Can’t say enough good things.

The average rating for this place– 3 stars– is representative of what to expect. I ordered the lamb stew and it was fine. There was nothing memorable about it and nothing bad. I thought it was a bit sour but I’m not sure if that’s exactly how it’s supposed to be. As my followers know, I am stickler for homemade pita– there is no excuse not to have it. The store bought stuff just stinks! Saving costs… but what it costs is the quality!

Great service. We came in 30 mins before closing and were still able to order. The waitress was conversational and full of smiles. We ordered Gyros, fries, and Mediterranean shrimp. Would definitely come back for a visit. It appears to be family friendly and comfortable.

With a girls night VERY overdue, Anna R and I decided to introduce my grandma and her sister to some yummy eats and hookah! We stopped in for a few appetizers of fresh hummus & pitas, and a few other dishes i can’t pronouce, but were amazingly delicious! Our server was friendly and very helpful when answering our menu questions! The food was flavorful and delicious and cost all of $ 25! SOLD! :) After finishing our snack, we headed next door to smoke some fresh hookah! Now the last time i was here, I was with mister Russell G and alooooot has changed since my last visit. First of all, they hand make the tobacco coals, so while it takes a little bit before you’re able to smoke, the quality is outstanding. We smoked the mint, and«bob marley» mixtures and they were perfect! I’m finding myself falling more and more in love with this style, presentation and taste of food, so i will definitely return! :)

This place is in what I call the Hookah district :). It’s surrounded by many hookah bars and has a fun vibe. I really liked the gyro dish from House of Kabob. The entrée came with the tzatziki sauce, rice and salad. They gyro meat is delicious and they give a pretty large portion. I would recommend sharing it with someone and maybe just ordering an extra side of rice. The salad is so-so, but I’ve never been a fan of salad anyways lol. The restaurant is large and was spacious enough to hold a large group of people. We had about 15 people at our table.
