Pretty decent happy hour, good drinks and free quesadillas and chips/salsa. Don’t go on Fridays, too crowded. Sundy brunch was not my cup of tea. Not very fond of brunch buffets, but if done right they are OK. This one had lots of food options, just nothing special to set them apart from any other buffets. Food was lukewarm and bland. Chef made omelettes were the highlight of my meal.

We were looking for a non-national chain for lunch after traveling all day and this place was right down the street. The food was fresh and delicious. We got tacos and shrimp fajitas. Many freshly prepared salsas and pico served with homemade chips and tortillas. If I lived here, I would go back for sure.

Blue Mesa has THEBESTBRUNCHBUFFETEVER. For only 20 bucks a person, you get a variety of unlimited brunch food. and bottomless mimosas. YOUHEARDIT. BOTTOMLESSMIMOSAS! So naturally, my girlfriends and I had a really good time that weekend. :) Other than that, their normal Happy Hours are awesome too! I believe drinks are $ 4 and you get complimentary quesadillas! ‘Nuff said.

Blue Mesa is always great but this place is pretty neat. This is a good date night for someone not from dallas. It has a impressive look to it with very unique food. I recommend the sampler platters.

The food was mediocre at best and the service was horrible. I was with a large group so slower service is understandable, but amazingly enough the portion of the group ordering alcohol was able to get amazing service. I was having Dr. PEPPER and couldn’t get a refill to save my life. Finally when he did bring it I was not seated and he did not recall where I was sitting so he left it three tables down and assumed I would find it. I was extremely dissatisfied with the service and will not be returning.

We had an extended family Christmas dinner for 24 in their private room that was fantastic. The service was very prompt and friendly. They even kept good track of about ten different checks that included food and drinks and got it right the first time – and were cheerful about it. Food was good too. This is a great venue if you need a medium size private room and are looking for relatively inexpensive food and drink costs.

Probably the worst restaurant I have been to. Had to wait for about an hour only to be seated at a messy table. our waiter completely forgot about the appetizer and he still charged us for it. Our table’s food came out cold/room temperature and had obviously been sitting out for hours. The beans were cement and the guacamole was brown. I complained and asked them to take the items off the receipt. The manager came and gave me a discount card for my NEXT meal. Needless to say, that card will never be used.

Me and my family came for brunch, I strongly recommend you not to come here, their buffet is cold, and when the manager Derrick approach to ask why I was upset he was challenge me asking me «what do you want me to do?» As a manager he should take action in another form, the only person that really was nice to us was Bono our server.

I had NO idea blue mesa grill was a buffet!!! Any place that has never ending mimosas automatically gets 5 stars. Everything I put on my plate was great! And our waitress was very attentive. WILLBEBACK.

Meh. We came in on a Sunday night and while the place was semi empty, the service was just not there. Perhaps we didn’t look like the best table out there,(mother and daughter) but come on, show a little interest, we know to tip 20%. Anyways, margaritas were good but my salad… it was pretty bland and the enchiladas my mother was having were decent at best. For the price, I’d rather go somewhere nicer where the food and service are actually worth the price.

For $ 20, the Sunday all you can eat brunch was an okay choice. I have to give Blue Mesa props for the initiative to put some, but not all, of its nutritional info online. There’s a decent selection of food from enchiladas to an omelette station to taco fillings to salads and grilled fish. With the exception of the grilled fish, I found everything else to be a bit at or below average. A lot of the food is soaked in no trans-fat oil, but the oil doesn’t seem to add to the dishes’ flavor. The dependency should be on the spices for the flavor, not the oil. I shouldn’t forget to mention that the price includes unlimited mimosas, coffee, tea, and soft drinks. The coffee is made with a boatload of cinnamon(which I liked, but be forewarned).

Came here for a late lunch post workout meal. My buddy and I both got salads, like real men do trying to slim down for bikini season. I had the mango avocado shrimp salad and added chicken to it for extra. Was awesome and refreshing, the greens were crisp and the dressing great with the shrimp. My buddy had the coriander corn crusted chicken salad and he added steak to it. He said the poblano dressing was killer. Both salads were good size, and filling. Our server Max was a cool dude with a spunky personality — we were in a hurry and he made sure to expedite the entire dining experience to accommodate our time constraint which we really appreciated. Will definitely come back to try their Happy Hour soon. Have heard awesome things about it and the beer and cocktail menu looks delicious.

Came back here after a great experience 5 months ago. Food was still good and street tacos were nice. Loved the cheese queso flight. 3 cheese dips with the good sweet potato chips and corn chips. So food good but they were struggling a bit on service. The chips we first got were all broken and more like dust, no way you could dip them in anything. Then the Pepsi machine was broken and when finally fixed it tasted bad. They forgot the queso flight so we had it with the main course. Strange because no one was in the place as we came after the lunch rush. Our server was super nice but struggling. Thinking its a one off deal. Come in for the good food though.

Happy hour here is legit. $ 4 drinks and free quesadillas and chips? Say wha?! But seriously, service was just not there. I understand that during happy hour, things get busy and waiters can get sidetracked, but honestly, for a happy hour, it was not busy at all. There were plenty of open tables, and we honestly didn’t even ask for much. I asked for a round of waters and we had to ask again since he didn’t bring it out. Then when it came to pay, he asked if we wanted our checks together or separate but that was it. We ended up paying at the bar, but honestly, we sat around waiting for our checks for a long time because we were expecting him to bring out our checks. In addition, I know the quesadilla bar is free and in high demand during this time, but cmon, is it that hard to remember to bring quesadillas to our table when we’re literally the closest table to you? We asked NUMEROUS times for quesadilla orders and we probably only got served twice. The next thing we knew, the quesadilla bar closed and we still never received our order. Bummer. Other than all of that, they offer $ 4 drinks. Margarita was standard, nothing amazing about it. I got a mojito which I enjoyed and I tried some of my friend’s sangria which was alright. There are 3 different types of chips, but our table pretty much ate only the sweet potato chips. So good!

Awesome service by Trevor! After about 4 or 5 mimosas I am pleasantly plump! Next to Iron Cactus this is the best place for Sunday Brunch

Had the worst dining experience of my life at Blue Mesa. Let me break it down for you: 7:25pm Called from a nearby Mexican restaurant and was promised a 5−10min wait at Blue Mesa for a table for 5 ppl. Great! 7:30pm Arrived and was told by hostess there was a 30 – 35 min wait. Womp womp. Stuff happens, so we just waited at the bar. For the next hour, jealously watched 7 – 9 other groups come and get seated before us, some even in the bar area where we were…(was not told until later that we could have eaten immediately in the bar area) 8:00pm Helped ourselves to chips and salsa; unfortunately could not help ourselves to water(was not visited by the waiter manning the bar area) 8:25pm Finally seated 50 min after our initial estimate 8:35pm Confusion from waiter about drink order — not aware of the cocktail chosen from the menu 8:45pm Waited for water after having been parched from eating chips for nearly an hour. The inside of my mouth was like the Sahara desert. 8:50pm Waiter dropped chip in water cup, did not notice 9:00pm Ordered 9:20pm Meals came. Ugh. Too full from chips to eat. 9:37pm Check, and quickly called it a night Thankfully I had friends with a good sense of humor, so we were able to make jokes about the disaster of the evening. But what was intended to be a casual Saturday night dinner turned into a 2 hr debacle of neglect, frustration, and general confusion. To be fair, when we mentioned the wait and lack of communication, a second hostess offered us complimentary queso which was brought to our table. But by the time we ordered and our food actually came it was 9:20pm(nearly 2 hrs later) and no one was hungry. It’s a shame that we had such poor service since I actually liked my food. But the food everyone else got received mixed reviews. Cheese Quesadillas: 1 star, tasted fine but low rating because friend ordered plain cheese only inside the tortillas due to dietary restrictions and was charged $ 11.95, the full menu price for decked out chicken quesadillas(from experience, most restaurants discount to kids’ or appetizer price because of the minimal amount of ingredients-not fair to charge the same just for cheese and tortilla) Signature Blue Margarita(aka blue drink): 1 star, likened to cold watered down kool-aid Queso: 2 stars, too watery Habanero drink: 2 stars, slightly better than just drinking straight from the bottle — boring, uninspiring and not very spicy Avocado enchiladas: 4 stars, good flavor and lots of avocado. A bit over salted but pretty good. Chicken mole /shrimp salad: 4 stars, my friends seemed to like these entrees fine This was a tough night. Will not be returning. I don’t often complain, but the mediocre food combined with very poor customer service made Blue Mesa plummet to my list of(very few) one star reviews.

My last visit was for National Tequila Day and it was a PACKEDHOUSE! The bar was packed of course and the drinks were flowing. They were featuring their signature blue margarita, in plastic cups of course, to keep things flowing and surprisingly… they did NOT skimp on the alcohol. I mean they were the same quality, same recipe, not some $.99 margarita taste. A limit of two per person, but I mean, two was DEFINITELY enough. Of course, we had to feed the alcohol, we snacked on chips and salsa first… one of their salsa they had, it was a smokey flavor, like a BBQ taste, VERY good! For my meal, I went with the combination chicken & steak quesadillas, which were DELICIOUS. They were cut in bigger halves than your normal quesadillas and very filling which I loved.

After reading about this restaurant on several websites, I was super excited to try this restaurant and was sorely disappointed. The restaurant offers brunch on Sundays, with a buffet and bottomless mimosas. First off, the restaurant has no ambience. Tables were packed together, and I had to weave through all of them to get to the buffet. Service was almost non existent, and we had to ask repeatedly for refills of water, mimosas, etc. Empty plates of food say on our tables until the end of the meal. On to the food, I can honestly say that I wasn’t blown away by anything. Most trays were on their last leg on my first visit, and most hadn’t been refilled when I went back 20 minutes later. There was a large selection, but everything seemed lackluster. The mimosas were even worse. The champagne was cheap, and the orange juice tasted like it came from a soda fountain. They were barely drinkable. I did not enjoy the brunch buffet at all, and I wish I hadn’t wasted one of my meals in Dallas on it.
