I still can’t believe the brownie from KindKreme was raw vegan!

Just finished my take out order from here and half of a word… DELISH!!! Jackfruit nachos were A+ and so filling and I also tried their jackfruit street taco! Both were well seasoned in their carnitas seasoning. As a meat eater I’d definitely go back here and indulge in non-meat items. Can’t really say anything about their service since I called in my order.

This is an overdue review. This place has really yummy vegan options: The buffalo cauliflower? AWESOME The BLTA pizza? Delicious! The ravioli? YUM! But the service — -SUCKS. I’ve been probably 5 times and I don’t think I’ve ever had decent service. The staff is somewhat pretentious and you get the sense that they really could give a s*** less about your experience. I’ve had everything from not getting waters refilled, to getting a check dropped before they even ask us if we want dessert, to getting food cleared that I wasn’t done eating! So now you know… proceed and enjoy, with caution.

The current overall rating of 4 stars for Sage is spot-on IMO. The food was great(5 stars!) but the service could have been better. I loved the butternut squash ravioli — so much flavor in this dish! I wish it came with more than 4 – 5 ravioli though, especially when I compared it to my friends’ plates that were filled to the rim with food for the same price. A couple of other dishes that we had at the table were the Brazilian bowl and Brazilian burrito. The burrito was the bomb dot com and the bowl was good but it needed some hot sauce to give it a little sumn sumn. And do yourself a favor and get the espresso cheesecake. So delicious! Lastly, like I said. service could have been better. We were out of water and parched, and throughout the evening as we ordered drinks, the waitress forgot a couple of times and/or the drinks took an oddly long time to come out.

Came here last week with a party of 10. I had never been to Sage but I wasn’t expecting a full bar. I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed the beer list. As for the food: we tried a bunch of different things around the table. I tried three different types of cauliflower and all three were better than any place I’ve had it before. I think the orange«chicken» was my favorite. I really liked the artichoke bites we tried too. I also had a goalless Greek salad that was delicious. We had a few things that o thought were just ok, but I believe that’s just my personal tastes. As for the service: they did ok, we were a bit disorganized as a group. Although, I don’t think we received the type of attention that a 10 person«gratuity included» party warrants. It wasn’t that busy, but staff was busy chatting at the bar area. All in all, it was pretty good experience, a few things could’ve been better but I would definitely return for those delicious cauliflower options.

Omfg people! Vegan mac n cheese with avocado. Amazing!!! I arrived in lax and took a cab right over to sage before they closed since I don’t know when I’ll be in the area again. I started out with lagunitas brewed yesterday ipa which was fantastic. I ordered the nachos for an appetizer which were great. I’ve never had jack fruit before and it’s amazing how meaty it is. The aforementioned Mac n cheese was delicious. My one complaint is that the avocado wasn’t great but it was still delicious. I actually decided on this vegan restaurant because after reading the menu online it was obvious that they shared my love of avocado. They put it on everything. I wanted to try the waffle with ice cream for dessert but I was way too full. The restaurant itself is huge and very nice. I sat at the bar and the bartender was excellent. Great experience overall. If I lived anywhere near la, I would definitely be back.

I came to SAGE with high hopes. I’d seen the place many times before when I’d go to the neighboring gym and salon. High ceilings with a classy industrial-yet-homey aesthetic and a very spacious layout. «With such great taste in design,» I thought to myself, «the food’s going to taste even better!» I sat down with my boyfriend, buzzing with anticipation, and ordered the avocado toast($ 12). We also wanted to split a French press of coffee — oh but they’re out — okay, we’ll take two Americanos please. $ 4 a cup? Well then it’s bound to be good right? Wrong. An Americano is a shot of espresso and water. Most Americanos should not even be $ 3, and the burnt espressos at Sage should go for even less. Looks like my price for«industrial-yet-homey» was built into the coffee. But the real upset was the avocado toast. I was on an avocado toast hype thanks to Zinc’s amazing toast. But where Zinc shines, Sage painfully misses the mark. Here’s what you get for a $ 12 avocado toast at Sage: two slices of rye bread, covered in limp overripe avocado, soaked in a torrential downpour of olive oil, and a patchy distribution of salt. I tried to eat it and enjoy it, but eventually my mouth and fingers were filmed with olive oil, and paying $ 12 for air was a more appealing prospect. So I asked the server to take it back, pointing out the brown patches on the avocado and asked whether I could have it written off my bill. She was kind and obliged. When we got the check, I’d only been discounted $ 6 I suppose since I’d eaten half the dish, but I’d only done that to give them the benefit of the doubt. Needless to say they can keep their artisan light bulbs and cool trendy vibes. It’s not worth the price.

This review is for the service. The food was flavorful, and pleasant-substantial and hearty. In a word – yummy! However, it would have tasted much better if the soup and tacos weren’t cold. The service was lackluster beginning with the hostess who was on autopilot. The waiter was rushed, as was the service. Our three course DineLA dishes came out… with the main course leading the way, then a few minutes later our appetizers. The starter, our tortilla soup-came out 10 minutes into our meal. They also forgot to bring us a course, and we had to get it in a to-go box… this was for the better… our table wasn’t big enough to accommodate all the dishes at once anyway. I might return for food… maybe take out?

It’ll do. Easy to locate off of Sepulveda. Horrid parking(valet service for the strip). Cool décor for the restaurant, giving it a cool vibe. Cool service in a busy place(must be doing something right). Owner came to visit; nice touch. It was dineLA Week, which introduced me to the place. We had all different things. The tempura’d broccoli with that glaze was good. The tomato soup was lacking in flavor. The tacos were delicious. The salad was good. The(Jesus, what did I have as an entrée? See, forgettable.)…

Another delicious place to prove vegetarianism/veganism can be incredibly delicious. My boyfriend and I both ordered our own pizzas and agreed… best crust we have ever had. From ANY pizza parlor to date. He ordered the mac and cheese pizza and I a personal take on margarita. The crust is simply indescribably… thick yet light, crispy on the outside and puffed to perfection.

I went with my family during the DINELA week and the food was great! I highly recommend the quinoa corn cakes and the butternut squash ravioli! The hot wings and sweet and sour wings were also delicious! The restaurant itself has a great vibe with glass bottle chandeliers and wooden wheel light decorations. Our server was also super friendly. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

I’m not a vegan, but this place makes me believe I can be… easily! The Baja tacos were just ok, but the meatball sandwich was sooo good. My favorite was the broccoli pasta w/avocado… mmmmm, I could have had 2 plates. The green juice was tasty and refreshing! The atmosphere was chill and the service was nice! We finished up w/brownie sundae dessert and soft pretzels. The pretzels are very good but the brownie was just okay… nothing I’d order again. I didn’t order any pizzas but my neighbors on both sides did, and they looked awesome. We came when the brunch menu was out, I look forward to coming back for dinner!

A great atmosphere with ample seating and good lighting begin the experience with Sage Vegan Bistro. Living plants, downplayed old farm and garden tools, and casual music set you up to enjoy a mellow, decent meal. I ordered the jackfruit fish tacos, and my friend ordered the Brazilian wrap. The Tacos were okay. They were on the oily side and the taste was the wrong kind of fishy… but I could see the appeal. The Brazilian wrap was also just okay. The service was moderately friendly, but after dropping water off and getting order, scarcely returned. I had to get up twice to fill our waters. We ordered a coffee cake for desert that was forgotten about as well, and took somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 minutes to get to us. Environmentally and dietarily, Sage is a win. Taste wise and servicewise, it was just okay.

One of my vegan sister’s favorite spots – finally came here tonight with my family for her birthday. Appetizers: Jackfruit nachos(3.5 stars) — these were pretty good, I loved how spicy they were. The pickled cabbage was a little overwhelming, however, and made it overall too sour. Fried artichokes(2.5 stars) — I love artichokes, but these were far too greasy for my taste. And the portion size was meager. Entrees: *BUTTERNUTSQUASHRAVIOLI w/pesto, alfredo, and kale.(4.5 stars) ! — one of the best raviolis I’ve ever had. I LOVE butternut squash. Would have given .5 more if the raviolis were filled more(it only comes with 4) Portobella Mushroom steak with wine reduction, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies(3) — the sauce was WAY too boozy; you could really taste the wine and it overpowered the mushroom. Desserts: Sampled the vanilla corn and clean green kindcremes. The green one was amazing, tasted just like a fresh green juice. The vanilla one was good but was literally just a good vanilla with pieces of corn in it. We settled for: Raw brownie sundae, with salted caramel and coffee nib kindcreme, chocolate sauce, goji berries.(3) — I have a HUGE sweet tooth, so I was excited for this… but I was sadly disappointed. The raw brownie was unimpressive, dry, and bland, and the goji berries tasted stale. The only good things were the kindcreme and chocolate sauce. Espresso cheesecake(4.5) — my sister’s bf got this, and I stole some bites; I definitely wish I had ordered a slice instead! Very light yet rich, and had a strong espresso flavor. My sister ordered an ice cream sandwich with oatmeal raisin cookies and cookies and cream kindcreme. She didn’t really like the cookies, and only ate about half of it. You definitely pay for the ambiance(which was a little too loud for my taste, though we were seated inside). The service got slow near the end. Also, I ordered a green juice, and it never came… and they still charged us for it. After telling the waitress she just said«oh, you didn’t get it? Really?» almost in disbelief, but then took it off. Meh. Overall, from my first experience, I think that the food is hit or miss – either amazing or just okay. For spending that amount, I’d rather go to Suncafe. But I’d definitely give Sage another chance.

When I saw the word«bistro» in the name, I realized we might be heading towards expensive, but it wasn’t crazy: appetizers were around $ 10 each, and entrees $ 13. Sage is doing a lot of innovation, going beyond the normal vegan offerings, which justifies the price to me. We had appetizers there, and a bowl of soul to go. The appetizers were great, and the jackfruit nachos were loaded. The mozzarella sticks made from heart of palm were also good, although they didn’t remind me much of actual cheese sticks. I liked our bowl of soul warmed up the next day, although that gluten-free biscuit is probably only going to taste good to those that are gluten free. If you’re looking for a rehearsal or wedding dinner venue or whatever, you should talk to them because their prices sounded super reasonable.

I came here with my mom, sister, and girlfriend after trying on wedding dresses next door. We were hungry so we didn’t care that it was a vegan place. We shared the pretzels and I ordered the BLTA pizza. We also ordered a dessert which was some kind of chocolate cake, I can’t remember. Everything was good. I really liked the soft pretzel and all the different sauces that came with it. My sister ordered the chilaquiles and it was spicy for me but good as well.

Their patio on a warm summer night is divine, with large communal tables, plenty of greenery and pretty lights strung up. I wish I could wax as rhapsodic about their food, however. They have a large menu so at least the selection is good, but the two items that my bf and I got were just OK. I got the house-made veggie burger(lettuce, tomato, avocado, red onions, pickles, garlic aioli, and mustard) and he got the avocado coconut curry(penne pasta, seasonal farmer’s market vegetables in rich spicy curry) and neither of us were super-wowed by the food. My veggie burger had a very thin patty and while the flavor was OK it certainly wasn’t the best veggie burger I’ve ever had. The bf’s curry was just OK too – kind of watery and not«rich» or «spicy» in my estimation. If you’re used to Thai or Indian curries like we are this is pretty weak sauce. I’d probably try this place again, though, since it’s so convenient for us. There’s gotta be something on that menu that would knock our socks off, right? STEPHJUDGEMENT: Great ambiance, but the food falls a bit short.

I am so impressed by this place. The décor, ambiance, food quality, last, service… this is truly in my opinion one of the best Vegan restaurant in LA. This is the place you want to take your friends to that haven’t tried Vegan food and want to. They will not be disappointed. It’s hard to believe that everything on their menu is Vegan. They even make their own vegan ice-cream made with coconut milk which to me tasted even better than ice-cream made with cow’s milk. My favorite so far is the Brazilian Bowl… the flavors are out of this world. Just thinking about it is making be drool. Yes it’s that good.
