Green Peas is the quintessential friendly neighborhood casual café. The food isn’t fancy or gourmet, but the simplicity, attention to detail, and quality organic ingredients make this one of the most frequented restaurants on my rotation in my local Culver City neighborhood. They don’t over season, over salt, or drown their dishes in oil like most restaurants do. I usually get the green peas pizza, the green peas salad, or the chipotle chicken sandwich. The mint lemonade is really refreshing and not too sugary. The ahi tuna dish is also outstanding! I live nearby so sometimes I have it delivered and they have added extra roasted potatoes to my order twice! Their food tastes as good when I get it delivered as it does at the restaurant, that’s an indication of quality ingredients and cooking. Give them a try, they won’t disappoint.

I was happy with this establishment for a while. Then eventually I started to receive the wrong orders completely via delivery. More recently instead of contacting me to let me know they were out of roasted potatoes they throw in a small salad or some other substitution with out actually contacting me to let me know they were out of something. In customer service communication is tops and with them there is none in my experience. Even at this moment i can’t even get through on the phone. Very disappointing. Lost a customer.

Food was delicious! Juice was bomb! Environment was calm! Me and a friend went here on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. Everything was good and the fact that most things can be made vegan or vegetarian made ordering a breeze. We will be back!

First, I don’t know jack about vegan food because I’m a meat eater. But I do like this place a lot. Power was out my office this morning. So decided to work from a café: Green Peas. Been coming here for years — yes, they serve food mostly made with a vegan twist, but they do serve some dishes with animal product in it, like this one… also, really good espresso and coffee here. In my case, this was an egg white omelet with spinach, goat cheese, and tomatoes. The red potatoes on the side were seasoned with paprika and some other stuff and pan fried in a bit of olive oil — and onions. Also served with small side of wheat toast. Great meal for $ 8. Free WiFi here too(uploads slow though, so don’t expect to upload gigs of files to your corporate server lickitysplit…). Always solid. Ignore the haters and check it out.

Disgusting. NOT for vegans. Please be cautioned. Used to be a fan of this place and the food. But really got wise tonight the hard way when I learned just how little they care about vegan food or customer service. I have both ate in as well as ordered delivery a few times for vegan food(and the delivery was never great.) First two times were cold and very slow. Third and fourth time I tried again and my food wasn’t even vegan(which obviously is a far bigger problem) First time they apologized(for the service i used to order. Not for themselves) and exchanged the food, basically taking 2 and a half hours to get my order. The second time i ordered, i made sure to call them directly on the phone and not use the third party to avoid any misunderstanding. …They did it again. When I called to let them know, they spent forever on the phone with me checking if it was suppose to be vegan(becasue a: my telling them clearly wasn’t enough and b: as if after ten years of being vegan I would suddenly order chicken). When they confirmed it was in fact ordered correctly but incorrectly made and delivered, they offered to exchange it.(Mind you its now 9pm. I ordered hours earlier and had already ate the side item and didnt see the chicken entrée until much later. [Ya know. like about the time when I sat down to eat and opened it up on the table to see f-ing meat in it?). So I asked for a refund instead which they agreed to. When the driver arrived to give the refund I handed him the salad. He insisted i needed to also provide the side item(small batch of reheated potatos they give as a side). I apologized and told him in already ate them shortly after they arrived hot before realizing the error much later when i opened the salad for dinner before I called, and he insisted he needed to call the manager to see if I was still eligible for a refund.(Um… Are you KIDDINGME??! Potatos!!!) Refusing to take back the salad with dead chicken carcass in it that I did NOT want in my hands or on my 100% meat free home– I simply handed it back to him and insisted he just keep it. I don’t want dead animals in my house. If you are a vegetarian who doesn’t want to risk eating carcasses or have them in your home do NOT order here.(He of course was fine with simply keeping the cash and the food).I was talking just now to a friend of mine who lives down the street. She was just saying how she went there with her boyfriend and their orders were switched(he vegan and her his real chicken.) She woke up at 12am vomiting, and saw in her to-go it was real chicken. This place is sick. And the service matches that description in true form. I have been in the restaurant business for over a decade and I have NEVER not only refunded a missed order but ADDITIONALLY compensated for my guest’s troubles by taking full responsibility AND taking CARE of my guests. I would NEVER give a vegan or vegetarian or alleric person a counter item. And if god forbid I messed it up. I would take some ###ing responsibility and not even consider to disrespect them like this or fuss over some shi##y potatos for god’s sake. I was a repetitive customer, always tip well, and patient and understanding of errors as they happen even as they did this(twice) – even gave them a second chance. But after tonight and hearing what happened to my friend I will NEVER be going here again. Ever.

Delicious spicy gardein sandwich with roasted potatoes. Their mint lemonade was also to die for with huge mint leaves and a big lemon slice that created a fresh taste. Will definitely be back!

Visited the restaurant on a nice Wednesday evening and was expecting a more restaurant style vibe, but the place is definitely more on the casual end. Being a vegetarian, whenever I have options to try new vegetarian restaurants, I get excited! Also, helps that they have non-vegetarian options so the restaurant can cater to all types of people. Since the place is a health food joint, the prices aren’t necessarily the cheapest, but they are fairly reasonable with their portions and the food tastes amazing! Highlights: — Couscous Arugula Salad: Salad was delicious, well seasoned and the dressing was not overpowering(usually an issue because I think salads are usually overdressed to mask the fact that your eating leaves) The only thing for some reason, the arugula was a bit overpowering and too leafy for some reason and I’ve never had a problem before eating arugula. — Fresh Squeezed Juice: LOVE that the large is only $.20 more, so why wouldn’t you get a large? You can also make your own juice and I’ve made plenty of pressed juice at home to know exactly how its supposed to taste when using fresh ingredients and it tasted exactly the same. *They offer substitutions for meat and I had ordered the garden chicken, but I didn’t particularly like their fake chicken… I will probably be ordering the tofu next time instead! Other than that, I will definitely be back here again!

The kale avocado salad was meh. The tofu was raw and the kale super crunchy and hard to eat. For a salad over $ 10, I would expect the protein to be flavored or cooked at least and some massaged tender kale. The pizzas and the quesadillas are probably tastier choices here, and they have vegan cakes in the bakery case, too!

The Mistake wasn’t the mistake… it was the way the manager(Jesus) handled it is why they earned 1 star! I wanted to love this place so much! Its near my house, reasonable prices, and has a nice selection of items on the menu. After looking at the menu for a while my girlfriend and I decided what we were going to get. I ordered a steak quesadilla, seafood risotto, and a stuffed chicken breast. The cashier informed us that the stuffed chicken will take about 15 minutes to prepare. I said ok we can wait, but please bring out the quesadilla first so we have something eat while we waited. After nearly half an hour(26 minutes to be precise) the risotto and chicken arrived, but no quesadilla. The quesadilla followed a minute afterward. We were really hungry so we forgave the tardiness of the food and the poor timing of not having our quesadilla first. This is when things went wrong… I took two bites of my risotto and gave my girlfriend a shrimp. I then ate a shrimp myself but noticed it had a very distinct texture: ITWASRAW! I brought it up to the counter and told the manager what happened. He DIDNTAPOLOGIZE at all, and just said can I see that? He took the dish to the back and talked with the cooks for a few minutes. When came back he said I see that you guys ate three shrimp so you basically ate the dish, so I’m having them cook more shrimp for your risotto. FIRSTOFALL… we only ate two shrimp… ANDONEOFTHEMWASRAW!!! Not a little underdone, not a little mushy… like a grey, raw, not cooked shrimp. I told him that I didnt want to more shrimp to be added to the dish, nor did I want to wait again, I just wanted my money back, for only that dish. He decided that it was better to argue with me instead and this is how it went down. Me: I want my money back. Him: You ate the dish. All I can do is give you a discount on a different item. AREYOUKIDDINGME?!? A discount on another item? Me: Listen, the food took a half an hour to come out, our appetizer came out after our main courses, you served me raw shrimp, and now you are saying that you cant refund my money? Him: You guys got here at 7:13pm and your food came out at 7:30pm so that is not half an hour. Let me go check on something. He went to the back and tried to find a copy of our receipt. Little did he know that I still had our receipt in my hand, so that’s how I knew that 1) he was lying about the times, and 2) that it took 26 minutes for our food to arrive. We didnt even place our order until 7:34 pm, and it didnt arrive until 8pm…= 26 minutes. He came back to the table, tried to argue some more, and finally agreed to refund the money for the raw risotto. MISTAKESHAPPEN… ITSNOTTHEENDOFTHEWORLD. I am in the service industry… I get it. But when you serve a first time guest raw shrimp, serve the food late, never apologize for your mistake, only offer a discount on another item, and then proceed to argue with your guest about ticket times when your guest has their receipt right in front of them, you are guaranteeing that not only will I never be back, but neither will any of my friends. Its too bad Green Peas… you had potential.

Green Peas offers up healthful, whole foods in delicious recipes. The Breakfast quesadilla hit the spot. Oooey gooey cheese but everything tasted light and clean. Quick in and out and healthy breakfast that helped fortify my day. I also picked up a salad for lunch that contained Escarole, chicken, arugula, tomatoes onions, roasted bell peppers, cucumber, artichoke, chicken and homemade lemon dressing. This is food that makes you feel good.

I had high hopes for this place, 4-stars on Unilocal and boasts a healthy menu of salads, sandwiches and interesting pizzas. There were so many option, I was initially overwhelmed — but I eventually settled on the eggplant sandwich to-go. I waited 30MINUTES to get my food. I’m not joking. I asked for my sandwich hot, which it was not and I didn’t even have time to let them correct the mistake. I finally went to eat my sandwich, and it was pretty mediocre. The grilled eggplant lacked seasoning and the side house salad was just greens with balsamic vinegar. Maybe I should have tried something else, the pizzas looked good. The friend I came with has been four times and he absolutely loves it. I was just overall disappointed in the wait and the quality of the food. I hope you guys have better luck!

Green Peas Casual Food is my go-to place for whenever I want to spend a couple of hours outside of my home or workplace to get some work done, especially during the weekday afternoons, when it isn’t as busy. The laid-back, comfortable, and friendly work/study environment, combined with the wide range of menu items offering solid choices for vegans, vegetarians, meat eaters, and people with certain dietary restrictions(ie: gluten-free), makes it an ideal place to be a regular customer. I really appreciate the free wi-fi and outlets available throughout the restaurant as well. They have many drink options: coffee drinks, smoothies, specialty lemonades, sodas, Kombuchas, and even complimentary fruit and mint leaves-infused water. The daily food menu has sandwiches, salads, dinner entrees, pizzas, soups of the day, and a variety of bread choices, many of which have vegan versions. They also have a breakfast menu that also offers many vegan options. I often order the vegan chipotle thin-crust pizza, which uses daiya cheese(vegan), garden chicken, chipotle sauce, scallions, and red onions. I really love the creamy combined texture and taste of the chipotle sauce with the daiya cheese. The garden chicken also adds a nice texture to the pizza. The avocado kale salad is also a nice option, when in the mood for something lighter. I always order the lemon vinaigrette dressing on the side to control portions and add extra garden chicken to it, which provides a nice balanced texture and heartier amount in each bite.(I’ve never ordered it without the extra add-on.) It’s also topped with a generous portion of sliced avocados on top.(If you’re in the mood for something with deeper flavors though, opt for something else.) During every visit, staff has always been friendly and helpful, attending to whatever it is you need while also giving you space. If you live in the Culver City/West LA area and are looking for a great work/study environment and menu, then definitely give Green Peas a try.

I’ve never had a bad experience here. I’ve been going to GP since before the remodel. The only time I had a «issue»(which was not really an issue) was when they forgot avocado in their grilled chicken(my fave) in my pick up order. The next time I went in I mentioned it to them(thinking they might have changed the sandwich) and was given extra avocado & free lemonade. I appreciate that. That’s it, in all these years, that’s all! I go mainly for the sandwiches & salads but my friends all like their pizzas(I haven’t tried them yet). Pricing is right, enough food to share, friendly staff.

They are so nice here. I came here for lunch during the week with my friend from work. We basically wanted healthy, quick, reasonably priced, easy to park and comfortable — and we got it all! I ordered the Grilled Veggie Sandwich which is no longer on their menu. However, the lady at the register(taking the orders) was so nice and told me that I could order even if it was not up on the board anymore. :) Wow! I was so happy! This sandwich is the reason I keep coming back time after time to this place. I was devastated to see it gone from the menu-board. However, I was completely satisfied and felt special to find out that they would still make it for me. To go with my sandwich I had a small cup of the daily soup. Today it was veggie. My friend ordered a turkey sandwich and a side of lentil soup. Both of our plates look amazing when we got them. And they were very tasty. We ordered two of their specialty lemonades: cherry-lemonade for my friend and cucumber-lemonade for me. The lemonade is a little pricey, however I must say that I will order it again in the future. It is absolutely amazing. The price difference between the regular and the large is only 20 cents — therefore I recommend you splurge for the extra 20 cents and get the large.

I ordered coucous salad. It was refreshing, tasty and filling… for someone who doesn’t like the flavor of arugula. I liked the different textures from the coucous and cucumber. I really enjoyed the mint lemonade. It wasn’t so minty and acidic. I did a good job only eating 3 pieces of the potatoes for my side since I’m trying to go back on paleo diet. I knocked off a star for their prices. Full 5 stars for health benefits.

Today was our second lunch here and we all three tried something different. I found the food to be consistently high quality and very tasty. My Green Peas salad was delicious and vegetarian, they have that down for sure. The other two entrees were also good, our favorite being the grilled chicken quesadilla which was loaded with ingredients. I think the value here is in the ingredients, they don’t skimp on quality or quantity. Smiling service and good drinks at reasonable prices, love the chia water. One thing we were very disappointed in was the vegan chocolate cupcake we took to go for the 9 year old we had with us, it was dry, tasteless and inedible. Seriously bad! So, enjoy the food but skip the vegan cupcake.

I love it here. Relatively fast, healthy, delicious, and unique food paired with pleasant service. They have excellent cappuccinos and are gracious with their Wi-Fi. Their chicken curry salad is one of my favorites. They have great side options of soup, salad, or roasted rosemary potatoes. For those with vegetation or vegan diets, they easily tailor to your restrictions. So far, I have not been impressed with their beautiful cakes that they have on display. I’ve tried almost every flavour, none of which I would try again. They infuse their communal water pitcher with assorted fruits and herbs. Overall, I shall continue supporting Green Peas as they are consistently one of my favorite casual dining areas in Culver City.

My friend and I wanted to eat somewhere healthy after a heavy night of drinking and drunchies, and this was the perfect fulfilling yet healthy option to choose! They have a GREAT menu, with a whole variety of options. They have a breakfast menu, salads, sandwiches, burritos, and offer different types of bread to use in your sandwiches. Salad and sandwiches comes with a side, which is the soup of the day, salad, or one other option I believe? I ordered the veggie burger which was DELICIOUS. The daiyo(?) cheese they put it in is amazing and adds great flavor to the burger. I ordered it with the sweet pretzel bread upon Unilocal recommendations, which actually isn’t sweet but I loved the taste of it. The salad was also really good and the dressing wasn’t heavy at all. My friend ordered the spicy«fake chicken» sandwich and that was amazing as well. She ordered the black bean soup as a side. The waiters are very friendly and they bring the food to you after giving you a number. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Fruit water is always good :) I would definitely come back to try their breakfast burrito or salads!(The salads looked delicious, btw).

Food: menu is huge with a large selection of pizza, sammiches, salads, soups, and coffee. We got the bbq chicken and something steak, both vegan. The pretzel and ciabatta bread the cashier recommended was indeed delish. The«chicken» I was not quite impressed with and did not seem fresh. BBQ was good and not overpowering /drenched. All of the other ingredients were fresh. Got the carrot soup which was a bit bland, but I’ve never had it before so I dunno if it’s supposed to be like that. Added some pepper and it was pretty good. My partna got the steak… something…that was very good on ciabatta. It had a good amount of avo, but not much«meat». Again, other ingredients were nice and fresh. Potatoes were a bit too rosemaried out, but mostly good. Service: Cashier seemed a bit drained of energy, but was still nice and helpful. Self serve bar(not alcohol): I like that they have a self service bar to grab infused(lemon and mint I think?), condiments and utensils Décor: fun, modern, appealing, but not overwhelming. Misc: free WiFi sticker on the window, need a password I didn’t ask for tho. They have outdoor seating with heaters. Didn’t see a personal parking lot as the time that I went there was plenty of nearby metered parking. Bottom line: Was not particularly impressed especially for the price and amount of reviews, but worth a revisit if I am in the area.

Fresh & Delicious! I stopped here based on the recommendation of a friend and I am so glad that I did. The staff was very friendly and made excellent recommendations(if you’re going with a sandwich, get the ciabatta bread). The sandwich and roasted potatoes were simple but very flavorful. Excellent ingredients. Went back again for the Cous Cous salad was not disappointed. This place is a must.

I’m glad I gave this place another shot. Though service was a bit lackluster the last time I came here last year, it’s seemed to be like that was just a fluke. I’ve been back twice since then and haven’t gotten anything but stellar service, fantastic food and at great prices. The new tilapia salad on the menu was delicious and incredibly filling! I’d ask for dressing on the side with this, though, since it was a tad heavy handed on the dressing. I love how much variety they have on the menu, and how fresh tasting everything is. It’s also incredibly reasonably priced for what you get! You get a cup of soup/salad with whatever entrée you get. And the soups I’ve had from them have been on point so far! I’ve had split pea and vegetable. Yum! I’m a fan and will definitely keep coming back!

I’m so glad my friend introduced me to this unpretentious and delicious restaurant. Although it doesn’t look like anything special on the outside, Green Peas has a lot of truly unique offerings. I was blown away by the humongous menus in this little place. There are a ton options for both vegan and carnivores alike. My friend and I shared a grilled chicken sandwich on ciabatta and a Chinese Chicken Salad. Both items were great. The bread on the sandwich was really fresh and perfectly fluffy. The chicken wasn’t over done and the pesto was flavorful. The Chinese chicken salad was vibrant and delicious. Everything was fresh and the salad had a wonderful texture. My friend and I both order the iced latte. It was good, but I’ve definitely had better lattes elsewhere. It was probably the most uneventful part of our meal. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m looking for a quick and easy lunch option in Culver City.

I am basically touring the West Coast and forcing friends to try vegan food with me. So after a morning of eating challah bread and peanut butter, I told M: «Hey, let’s go here and I promise I’m not going to indulge in a pizza just because they have vegan ones. I’m gonna get a salad.» So of course I get the humongous vegan pizza. But, to share. That’s fine, right? We got the mushroom pizza with daiya cheese and added caramelized onions and avocado. It was ridiculously delicious, and I asked M what she thought. «Tastes like cheese,» she said. Pretty casual, quick, $ 12 for the pizza and the add-ons I asked for. Pretty affordable! Lots of options for both vegan and meat-eaters– they even have gluten-free options. They serve coffee and smoothies, too. And strawberries and mint in their filtered water. Yum.

**OKSALADANDSOUPEXPERIENCEINCULVERCITY** PARKING ======== Metered street. AMBIANCE ========= Small front patio seating. FOOD ===== AVOCADOKALESALAD | **MOSTPOPULAR** Raw kale, fresh tomatoes, red bell peppers, avocado, artichokes, with either a chicken breast or garden chicken or tofu home made lemon dressing and a side. I think I am over kale or may be kale is over me. Either way, I wasn’t impressed by the salad except for that sliced chunk of delicious avocado on top. The dressing was too thick and lemony. And unfortunately too much. Be sure to ask for the dressing as a side. RATING: 3⁄5 CARROTSOUP(side order to salad entrée) Tasted fine, but not as good as I would hope it to be. Nutmeg, a touch of fresh cream or cilantro would have been a nice touch. RATING: 3⁄5 OVERALL ========= Liked it but didn’t love it. There are better vegan options nearby. RECOMMEND for a quiet average vegan and/or healthy lunch in Culver City. But don’t expect fireworks or mind blown entrees here.

The verdict: slightly overpriced deli food, but portions are decent sized and food is good. I ordered the Chicken Picatta sandwich for $ 10.75. Solid choice, if I do say so myself. For my bread, I chose whole wheat and opted for mixed greens instead of soup. It was very panini-ish. My sandwich consisted of: chicken breast, capers, garlic, fresh oregano, spinach, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, pesto aioli, and grilled onions. The sandwich was creamy and a good size, pre-sliced into two triangular halves. It seemed like a bigger size than my friend who ordered another sandwich on pretzel bread, which I was happy about. Yes, I licked the plate clean. I was hungry, ok? It’s an unfair comparison, but I would opt for Sage(also in Culver City, but vegan food) over Green Peas if I’m in the area. Not to discredit Green Peas, because it is good. It is more of an everyday choice but the price is a bit splurge-y, if that makes sense. If I’m already splurging, I want to do so on food that I can’t possibly recreate at home.

This is a great place for vegetarians and vegans. Their menu is pretty extensive with sandwiches and pizzas, and vegetarians and vegan options. After browsing the menu, I got the green peas sandwich which is a portabello mushroom and gardein chicken sandwich. They also give you different bread options, but the sweet pretzel bread stood out. The sandwich also comes with a side of potato chips, potatoes or salad. I really liked the sandwich, it tasted fresh and healthy. The salad was bland, there really wasn’t dressing on it. For drinks, I got the cucumeber lemonade and my friend got the mint lemondade. The mint was the better of the two. The cucmeber was too sour for me, and lacked cucumber. Definately a good option if you’re looking for a healthy lunch.

Not sure how ive literally been here a bajillion times and ive never written a review. I absolutely love this place and love even more that they accommodate people of all dietary needs. Ive had everything from strict vegan to vegetarian to full on meat eater. Theres street parking and you order at the register and they bring the food to you. Among my favorite things to get here are the steak salad, green peas pizza, and chicken quesadilla. I always find that the food is consistent and delicious every time. Id also highly recommend getting a smoothie. My personal favorite is blueberry banana with soy milk. Yums!
