Great wine, great food and stellar service. Sophie, the manager, and her team are friendly and always make me feel at home when my dad and I grab dinner here(almost every Wednesday). I’m happy the secret’s not out on this great local restaurant/bar as it’s a fantastic, not super busy place to hang out.

I was staying at the Hilton for a wedding(bridesmaid) and our bridal party including the bride went down for breakfast at Grissini. One server who was an elderly woman was extremely rude to us when we walked in and wouldn’t seat us. I can only assume that the other lady who did seat us was a manager because she was dressed much nicer and was very friendly to us. We sat down and the rude lady ended up being our server. She came over to ask us for our drink order but only took the order of two of us. She walked away and came back and we had to stop her to get the orders for the other three because she was rushing away. When we finally got our drinks she came back to take our food order and not even 2 minutes after we put our order in she came back with the checks. We didn’t even have the food yet but apparently she didn’t want us in the restaurant longer than we needed to be. When the food finally arrived, the pancakes tasted like the buttermilk was sour so we flagged down the manager and she immediately took the pancakes back but the rude server wouldn’t offer any discount on the food and would only give us an option of a bowl of fruit or some toast to replace the pancakes. It was like she didn’t even care that the pancakes were bad. Definitely not worth $ 14+ for terrible service and not so great food. IHOP would have been better.

I really don’t really like going out for breakfast, it’s not my favorite meal and it is always seems expense when it is served in a restaurant. With that disclaimer out of the way, I really enjoyed my breakfast at this restaurant. While the meal seemed a bit pricey, it was more than enough food, the next day we split a breakfast, and it was just the right. Both L and I liked the Italian toast,(French toast with Italian bread) we had it both mornings. The toast was served with warm maple syrup, whip cream and a choice of bacon or sausage.

Clams steamed in italian beer and garlic with tomatoes. Very good. Bread was warm and tasty to soak up the clam broth and the bread dipping sauce they give you. Salmon was wonderful. I am one to love pink peppercorns and this salmon was filled with them. Their medicinal taste paired well the acid of the citrus, the sweet tart of the balsamic, the grassy spinach and the richness of the salmon. On the plate of the main dish was steamed broccolini and baby carrot. Sam Adam’s Octoberfest beer on tap was cold and decent. This place is a hotel restaurant. I was able to park towards the back of the hotel and there is an entrance there.(I must say, it is kind of creepy back there. The parking lot and walkway to the place backs up to an unlit trail. Not light enough. Next time I will park out front of the hotel and walk through the lobby.) The décor is nice, the place was clean. It fails a fifth star for a couple of reasons; never bring out bread dipping sauce then no bread. I had to ask for bread after my clams came. Secondly, I really do feel the manager missed an opportunity to quiet down a rude customer who thought listening to an action film on his computer was ok. I eat out to leave those sorts of things behind. I asked the waitress to say something to him but then told her not to bother as I did not want to cost her a tip. I believe she should have said something to the manager. The manager did walk by a few times yet seemed to not notice. I did say something to the young man as I left, and it was not taken as well as it could have been.

Treated my Mom and the family to the Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch here this past Sunday. Although the brunch was not hosted in Grissini’s Trattoria per se, reservations were handled by Grissini’s. I’m usually quite apprehensive about these mega-brunches that hotels host for special occasions such as Easter and Mother’s Day but I had to pick a venue that was near my parents’ neck of the woods and for once, not Hs Lordships in Berkeley. Our reservations were for the 11:30am seating but when we arrived at 11:15am, there was just a minimal wait time in line but we were immediately seated upon check in. Brunch was hosted in their Grand Ballroom but the buffet was out in the foyer area. The Ballroom was setup nicely with different sizes of tables to accommodate the different parties. It was setup as if it were a formal banquet, which was nice. There was also a piano player too which give the event a bit of class. During our entire time, several tables were vacant so the Ballroom wasn’t too noisy or crowded. The buffet offerings was pretty standard, pretty much what you’d expect at at casino buffet on a Sunday. They offered breakfast items such as bacon, sausage, eggs benedict, omelet station, etc. a minimal salad bar, seafood station(w/o any crab legs), lunch items like mac and cheese, halibut, ham, prime rib, etc. and dessert stations. Our meal came with Champagne, orange juice and coffee. Although the food wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, it was nice for the occasion. What lost stars for me was the service. We had one server, who I’m sure was more of a banquet server than a restaurant server. She was friendly, but never refilled our beverages unless we asked her to, not to mention, it was very difficult to get her attention. Also, paying for our meal was a fiasco, there was only one person handling payment and he was dropping off receipts to the wrong tables. What really ticked me off however was that they automatically included an 18% gratuity and we were only a party of four. Although the gratuity was close to what I was going to leave, nowhere on the brunch ad did it say gratuity would be automatically included, nor was I ever informed. I would’ve made a fuss because our server wasn’t stellar enough to receive that generous of a gratuity but, I decided not to, in respect of my Mom during her special day. Overall, for the area, they hosted a nice brunch, but again, not the best, I’ve ever had. If I had to compare it to Hs Lordships, the latter wins.

Staff and I had to prepare for a luncheon, so we had lunch prior to getting down to the nitty gritty! First off, the service is great, they really make you feel at home. The bread and bread sticks were excellent. Half of the group ordered a shrimp pasta and the special which was some type of fish Spearfish or swordfish… hmmm not really sure. The flavors were magnificent! Every thing tasted amazing! For dessert we shared the Tiramisu and a Pear dessert! It was soooo good! Would definitely come back here on a special occasion and would tell friends!

I went here w/a group of coworkers to celebrate April birthdays. This place is so cute. Toni the waitress is such a sweet loving lady! The cook forgot to put italian dressing on my salad so Toni gave me this excellent homemade dressing that tasted the best and even better w/my Grilled Chicken Sandwich! I took my other half of my sandwich to go and asked for more dressing and best believe she gave me way more than I asked for. This place is good for business, dates, and family lunch/dinners. The price of the food is very reasonable. The service can be kind of ‘eh’ but when Toni came by to serve us she was wonderful and very funny too.

I’ve eaten here many times while staying at the Hilton. Although the food isn’t bad, it is not a place where I would go out of my way to visit as there are much better choices out there. Pretty casual atmosphere and usually when I’ve eaten here, I’ve sat at the bar and enjoyed a pizza. If you’re in the mood for pizza, I would suggest Chicken/Gouda. The caramelized onions give it that sweet taste along with the salt from the cheese making it a perfect combination. Not a very large selection of appetizers here but what is on the menu is decent. The services has always been cool and the bartenders are easy to strike up a conversation with. I will definitely return to here while staying at the Hilton.

Well, another meal! I have seen this place for years, but never gone… so here we are. I took my gf here a few weeks ago on a friday night at about 8pm. The place was almost empty, I think about 3 or 4 tables had people. It was very nice though, well lit, and nice décor and bar area. The host was very nice, fast to greet us, and sat us right away. Our server was very nice and one of the better servers we have had. They started me off with a GIANT coke with was very pleasing and some great bread and oil and vinegar. The menu was interesting, everything from burgers to pasta and pizza. I’m thinking they need the variety at a hotel restaurant. I did not have wine that night but they seemed to have a very nice bar and wine selection. We ordered the fried calamari to start which was very good and my gf was happy their calamari had tentacles in it vs. other places haha I went for the pizza as my entrée and my gf had a sandwich. Now, up to this point I was really impressed with everything. The place itself, staff, and food. But was here The dinner for both of us was not very good. For me the pizza just didn’t have really any taste besides garlic which it looks like a whole garlic was used. A little over bearing I must say, and I love garlic. I didn’t even finish it… and for those who know me… derek didn’t finish his pizza… wow!!! the end is near! As for my girls sandwich she was just about as impressed with her meal and did not finish! Maybe we picked the wrong dishes and maybe I’d go there and just have drinks and appetizers. Just a big disappointment with the entrees. I think I might give them one more shot but we shall see.

Eh… Not too bad for a hotel restuarant. The place reminds me of restuarants my grandmother would like while I’m silently hating it. The food wasn’t too bad and the service was good but still… Something was off about it and I didn’t like the place much.

I thought the grilled chicken sandwich was quite tasty and reasonably priced for a hotel restaurant. I don’t get to the Concord Hilton often, nor would I stay there for any reason other than the New Year’s Eve party they hold, but I was pleased with both the food and the wine selection.

I joined Concord Rotary club in 2000 and we have been meeting every Friday for lunch at the Hilton longer than I can remember. Given the critical nature of some of our members, that in itself is quite an endorsement. As business owners and executives, many of us in the Rotary club also use Grissini for entertaining and/or staff brakfasts, lunches and dinners. The service is always warm and friendly, food delivery is prompt and the prices reasonable for the setting. I am not generally a fan of Italian food but Grissini serves some original dishes and I always feel safe bringing a business guest knowing that he/she will not be disappointed.

Disappointed. Been here in the past and was very pleased — not tonight. Website listed a menu that is no longer applicable which sucked since this was our anniversary celebration and I chose the restaurant for dinner based on my menu selections. Staff WAS helpful in arranging a substitute that was acceptable of monkfish and they gave me a different side since I can’t stand jalepenos in the sauce. The porterhouse steak for $ 34 was a travesty. It was cut too thin and was tough — I would guess it was NOT Choice Grade meat. This might be a nice choice for this area — but the quality is not up to par for the prices being charged. The staff was the best part — not a special meal.

My go to spot in Concord, period. Excellent staff very friendly and always have a heavy hand at the bar. I know the chef and he really enjoys making something special. They have a wood burning brick pizza oven… how many hotel restaurants have that? Haven’t had a bad dish here yet, even the side salads are excellent and I’m not one to write a review about a salad. I honestly come here at least twice a week. The only negative thing I can say is they only have two beers in tap, widmer hef and a summer ale, but for the wine enthusiast they have an impressive selection that changes depending on popularity. On a side note, the Rotary Club meets here friday morning, how could all those old rich guys be wrong? This place is bomb! And they have live blues guitar Friday night!

Hotel restaurant Italian food that is above par. This place is actually quite good for a hotel restaurant. Its not fine dining Italian nor is it cookie cutter Italian either. The dishes here are quite good and the pizza is pretty good also. The prices are probably a bit higher than they should be but most hotel restaurants are usually that way since, for the most part, they have a captive audience. Ill eat here again when I stay at the Concord Hilton and not just because its in the hotel *grin*

3.6 Grissini’s is an Italian restaurant located within the Concord Hilton. I had a work-related dinner here last night with folks from my manufacturing plant and a nearby sister site. My manager’s new boss was in town and we spent much of the day orienting him to our way of doing business. The Company itself is in the middle of a huge reorganization, that will eventually cut costs by about 20% globally and we’ve all been a little nervous as the transition mysteries have unfolded. And with a new UK manager in the picture, we were trying to put our best foot forward, have a good time together and at the same time, watch out for British understatement. One good omen is that I didn’t get caught in the speed trap that the CHP set up on South I-680 on my way to the restaurant. And as I pulled into the Hilton lot, I put on a happy face as I mused about Conrad Hilton, the recent«Mad Men» episodes featuring him, and of course one particularly idiotic heir. Let’s get the negatives out of the way first. The room was stuffy and the background music(especially the odd brass arrangement) was irritating. The wine list was so-so at best and the menu was odd in the«Italian» variety it offered. At the same time, I really enjoyed my time and my meal at Grissini’s. First of all, it’s a nice space and with a good vibe that doesn’t make you feel that you’re in a hotel restaurant. Our waitress was attentive and friendly to our large group, drinks and food were served promptly, and my arctic char on mushroom risotto was very tasty. And despite the reorganization elephant in the room, a lot of good information, stories, and laughs were shared.

Thanks to my amazing account reps here I get treated to lunch every now and again! Grissini’s never disappoints. From the excellent service to the tasty food. I had the seared salmon today on a bed of spinach. It was delectable. We enjoyed great food, great company and so much laughter that our cheeks and tummies hurt. Even the eyesore of a man with a gross moustache that covered his cheeks into big spiral loops did not put a damper on our fabulous lunch! He reminded me of the ram emblem on a dodge truck. To each his own… The tiramisu is made fresh by a darling man every morning at 5am in the kitchen. Make sure you save room for dessert!

OK, so im stuck at a freaking work conference in Concord at the Hilton. Actually, im quite surprised how nice it is. So Grissini is the place restaurant that is located in the Hotel. Has a cute, charming atmosphere and the service was great. Very friendly people and the place is seems very clean. Now for the food(please note that I basically binged on free wine, cheese, meatballs(WHAT) and veggies for cocktail hour) –had the Veggie beef soup= this was ok. Tasted like something Dennys would serve up –Flat Iron Steak = this was actually pretty good. the roasted veggies and demi glaze was pretty tasty too. –2 glass of crappy wine, but at least the glasses were cool(yes, for some reason shitty wine in decent glasses taste better to me) Overall, this place wasnt bad for a hotel restaurant(with the exception of places like Vegas)

(Overall grade: B-) This is a nice looking restaurant with a great atmosphere. The dinner menu is not big. I ordered the Salmon with a peppercorn vinegarette sauce. It came with baby spinach. The presentation was excellent! The salmon was a good sized piece. The vinegarette sauce was awful! It had a super-strong vinegar taste. Far too much vinegar. Even the whole red peppercorns were weird. Maybe it was the combination, I don’t know. If you really like vinegar, then you might want to try this salmon dish. If not, then stay away from this dish. Next time, I’ll order something different and maybe I’ll be able to raise the Rating for Grissini.
