Excellent dinner and ambiance. The owner works hard and is very friendly. The specials — and there are three each day — never fail to amaze. We don’t come here often because it’s that special — our birthday/anniversary dinners. Not pricey, just the best romantic dinner. It’s small, but you don’t need to make a reservation. Fresh, warm bread on the table as soon as you sit down, flavorful and generous portions. A favorite.

just to note… I was amazed to find such great Italian food so far from the city. If your hungry and within 15 miles… drop that pin in your GPS and head to Luna!

Love Luna. Consistent, reliable excellent food for lunch or dinner. Cozy restaurant but we have always been seated. I get a reservation for evenings.

I absolutely loved thus place its now my new favorite Italian spot. The food was perfect. Service was a Lil slow dude to being close to closing but still great. Our waiter was so friendly and attentive I wish I would have caught his name. Me and my boyfriend came here expecting OK food but we got great food. I orders the gnocchi with chicken and spicey tomato sauce and he had the lasagna aahhh I wish I had more. Just go its worth it I promise

After a terrible experience at Agave Grill down the street which resulted into us walking out, we walked down the street to Luna. From the minute we walked in we were welcomed and felt comfortable. The service was great and the food even better. Everything happens for a reason and I’m so glad we ended up at Luna! They definitely made us into regular customers. Thank you!

Excellent customer service. Needed to get food in a hurry, and they were right on with discussing appropriate meal sizes and what meals the chef could make in 10 minutes or less. I was afraid the menu options would be limited because of my rush, but they said whatever I wanted they could make it happen.

Romantic. This restaurant reminds me of Italy, and I like that. We had salmon on a bread for our appetizer and it was pretty good. I really like their black sauce with olive oil. For some reason it tastes a lot better than most Italian restaurants I’ve been to. I ordered seafood pasta which came with lots of fish, some mussels, a couple prawns, in red tomato sauce. It was delicious and I would recommend getting this dish. My husband ordered sword fish and it was quite salty. I do not think he enjoyed it as much. We ended our meal with a Luna dessert and a moscato. Luna tasted so good! I’d highly recommend it. Moscato was just moscato, I’ve had similar… or do all moscatos taste the same? Service was great, I wouldn’t complain.

This restaurant is not really as hyped up as it was supposed to be. From the pictures and reviews here on Unilocal you would think it was an upscale restaurant, Its not and nothing to dress up for either. I tried a few of their dishes, the risotto and gnocchi pretty much tasted like Cajun gumbo. My chicken pesto, the chicken was over cooked and dry but the sauce was great and you got plenty of it. The service was great and our dishes came out pretty fast. For dessert I ordered the Luna, it was my first time having it. The serving was so small, in 4 small bites your done. The prices were about right for the location and ambiance. If I had a choice to come back I wouldn’t mind but its nothing to write home about though. You should try eating at their other restaurant, Bella’s over in Clayton 5STARS for Bella’s!

My good friend came to me for his birthday. I researched places in the area and found such great reviews for Luna Ristorante and we both love Italian food. It was a very happening place for a weekday lunch. We did have to wait about 10 minutes for a table. Food: Smoked Salmon appetizer — super good. I ordered the walnut gorgonzola chicken penne and my friend got the carbonara with no peas. My dish had an unusual ingredient, cranberries! But it worked! It was a nice sweet and tart taste to the rich cream sauce. My friend’s dish was tasty but not a true carbonara because there was a lot of cream in that dish. A true carbonara has no cream. Ambiance: it’s small and quaint Service: not bad for the lunch rush. That salmon bruchetta really was outstanding. I’d like to come back to try another bruschetta and pasta dish.

We had a pretty good experience at Luna. The food was tasty and the service was attentive. There were two servers who, I don’t believe, communicated too well because the second server would come back and ask the same questions we already answered to the first server. Other than that, the service was good. The bread is baked fresh and has a very crispy crust. The garlic, pesto, oil, and balsamic topping was delicious. We ordered salads, an appetizer(bruschetta) and entrees. The salads arrived first. The appetizer took a while(15 minutes?) and the crust was very very crunchy; almost to the point where it was difficult to eat. The only problem we had was that our entrees arrived, literally, two minutes after the appetizer. The servers asked if we were ready for the entrees and when we said no, they said«well, we’re going to move this empty plate and leave them here anyway.» Profiteroles for dessert were light and delicious. The ambiance is cozy and romantic, but the tables are very close together. Don’t expect a private conversation if the place is busy.

A blind man could pick out a great menu choice at Luna! EVERYTHING is amazing here! Personally, my favorites are the bread with the bread dip, cream of spinach(or cream of any other veggie) soup, Seafood Lasagna special, Crab filled ravioli in a cream sauce, topped with smoked salmon, or the Penne Pollo Pesto. The desserts are out of this world, and done in a way that is difficult to eat, due to how beautifully they are arranged. But seriously, EVERYTHING is amazing. After coming here for about 15 years, I’ve had everything on the menu, trust me, you won’t be sorry. Be sure to ask for Alfredo as your waiter. He is truly a class act and will point you in the right direction.

I’ve lived in Concord for a very long time and never had the chance to try this hidden gem until recently. I was craving Italian so I looked up Luna on Unilocal and the pictures and reviews seemed worth the try. We came in around 5pm for dinner and when I first walked in, I thought the ambiance was comfortable. Maybe some candles would warm up the place a little. It started getting busy around 6 as multiple families started trickling in. Their bread was hot and fresh and so good. We ordered the carpese salad, carbonara and linguine with crab. The salad was so good. I loved how fresh the mozzarella was. Our entrees were good servings, enough to share between 2 people. We enjoyed our dinner and the price was pretty reasonable considering how huge the servings were. We will definitely come back again and try different things.

* Pumpkin ravioli was delicious! * So was the crab pasta. * Wait times were long, but I was actually appreciative. It was a romantic dinner with great food. :)

We had dinner here a few weeks ago. The service was very good, although our server seemed a little distracted. I was disappointed by a couple of things: The by-the-glass wine list is extremely limited, and the lamb shank was dry and had a weird flavor(not bad, just not what I was expecting or like). The dessert was very good, though.

After walking by this place for a year we finally tried it and we are kicking ourselves for not trying it sooner. I had veal saltabocca and it melted in my mouth. My wife had a calamari steak which was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. If it’s offered you must order it! The service was 5 star all meal long. Everything about our dinner was a 5 star experience.

The salmon bruschetta is the only reason I’d give this place 3 stars. The food was really greasy — my chicken tasted like fish as it was probably cooked on the same pan as the salmon we ordered. Overall it’s an ok place however I recommend you try out their sister restaurant Bella in Clayton. That place has the same menu — different chef. Better food(not as greasy) and they give you a tasty dip for your bread.

The food is 3-star, solid but not amazing. The atmosphere and service are 4-star, professional and friendly. Luna will not rock your world, but it is a comfortable place to eat with a small group of friends and be able to hear yourselves talk without screaming at one another over a too-small table! — Piedmontese salad: good. Liked the mild dressing(we hate dressings that use too much vinegar), crisp thin slices of apple were just enough to give interest and texture without distraction. — Chicken cannelloni: HUGE plate. Enough for two to share. Well-stuffed crepes with both a cream sauce and a tomato cream sauce. A good-sized heap of fresh arugula hiding the middle crêpe, as a salad. Tasty chicken-ricotta-Asiago filling. — Crab linguine with sun-dried tomatoes. No sauce, just garlic and EVOO. Simple, got a thumb’s up from spouse. — Calamari steak. Not as good as The Fat Lady/Oakland, but okay. The side of roasted veggies, however, was amazing. Big slices of carrot, zucchini, and potato looked ordinary, but were seasoned and roasted perfectly. Even my veggie-avoiding DH thought they were delicious! — The coffee was excellent and the desserts were both above-average. Tiramisu was more quality than quantity, with mascarpone and not too much sugar. Profiteroles were well above average, crisp little beignets with a proper vanilla pastry cream, lightly drizzled with chocolate. Much better than the usual oversized, cheap-flour gigantic puff pastries with goppy too-sweet fillings drenched in bad quality chocolate syrup! These beignets might not be up to Ca’Momi/Napa standards but Luna’s are head and shoulders above 90% of restaurants offering puff pastry desserts. Luna sits in-between the family-style Italian-American food of De La Torres/Pleasanton and the upscale places of Oliveto & Centouno/Oakland and Trabocco/Alameda. Not super-fancy, yet pretty enough to feel a little special, without hurting the wallet too much. Not a destination restaurant, but a worthwhile contender if you’re in the area.

Enjoyed a fabulous anniversary dinner here recently :) It was quite, and intimate, with a nice tone of jazz playing in the background. Service was a little stiff at first, but gradually warmed up. And the food, was fantabulous! But the best part about the evening was, that I became engaged shortly after our fabulous dinner on a walk in Todo Santos(where we had our first after date walk several years ago) …a night to remember for sure :) We will probably continue to make this our anniversary spot for years to come, not only for the fabulous food and intimate ambiance, but for the clear sentimental reasons. Until next time!
