I have never encountered such poor customer service from a bartender then my last 2 visits at this establishment. Our 1st visit, my boyfriend and I came in, sat at the bar, and ordered dinner and a drink. She refused to even look at us when we ordered, rolled her eyes when we asked for ranch for our fries and flat out ignored us after our food was served. Our 2nd visit(trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt here) the same bartender was working. We ordered a drink and sat down to watch karaōke. My boyfriend drinks Jack and Coke… The 3rd drink ordered thru the waitress(who was amazing by the way. Very nice, upbeat, and over all pleasant) was clearly not what he ordered. To a whiskey drinker,(any liquor drinker really) there is a significant difference in well whiskey vs Jack Daniels. He asked the waitress if it was Jack, she said that was was she has entered, but did not make the drink. He went up to bartender and asked her if his drink was Jack or by chance made with well whiskey. With her hand on her hip, she looked at him with a look to kill, and told him no. He then asked if maybe their soda system was going out on the coke, or if it was made with diet because this drink tastes different then the prior 2. Her answer was«unless you don’t know the difference between Pepsi and Coke, no» and she walked away. Trying to ask for a different drink, she left him standing there, blatantly ignoring him to talk with other people at the bar. When we left, he politely asked her why she was so rude to him. Her answer? «I’m sorry you feel that way.» For a visit on a Friday night, at prime time of the evening, with great karaōke, this place was dead. And I see why.

We have been loyal customers at Olé’s for the last few years for the great bar service, steaks and karaōke, usually on a Friday or Saturday with an occasional midweek visit. This last Saturday Aug. 82015 was a complete disaster of our normal fun of a great steaks and singing at Olé’s. which we invited a group of people to come and hang out at the place we rave about. To say the least we were embarrassed and totally disappointed with the entire experience. Probably wont be raving to our friends anymore and would be hesitant to recommend it also. We entered not recognizing a single employee there! Our great bartender Melody was no longer working, there was also a new waitress and a new cook. With the exception of Phil the KJ there who is always awesome! We sat down anyway to a semi busy Saturday night, they were definitely understaffed for the amount of people there. Our waitress Sue was covering all the tables in the entire place, so service times were definitely very long between visits. Although we had to wait we felt bad because she was trying her best to cover everything, including helping the cook! I was excited to order my usual ribeye steak since during the remodel they were on a temporary menu that didn’t include the steaks. It was a DISSAPPOINTMENT!!! The cook showered my steak with so much salt it was inedible, I sent it back. One of our friends ordered the country fried steak breakfast and over easy eggs. His eggs were cooked to well done and the country fried steak looked like a piece of cardboard and the gravy was disgusting. it was sent back also. In all our past visits to Olé’s we have never had to return one dish. The meals were replaced and was a great improvement with the help of Sue! After finishing our drinks we wanted to order another round but we noticed that the waitress was over whelmed so I decided to go to the bar and order us more drinks. I have never encountered a more rude and simply put, «BITCH» of a bartender Sarah. She asked me if I ordered our drinks thru our waitress and I said No, she’s busy so I came to the bar. Sarah said: well, I don’t have your tab so you need to order it thru your waitress. I said: so I cant order drinks from the bar? Just start another tab or I can pay for it now. She then ignored me and started serving another customer at the bar. Then one of our friends wet to the bar to get some water and received the same treatment from Sarah the bartender. This is the kicker, we own a restaurant and bar and we come to Oles as a great getaway from our own place. Sarah is probably the worst bartender I have ever encountered in the industry. She never stepped out from behind the bar to help out on the floor and expected that the one waitress to cover everything. A bartender is there to serve regardless on how the order is placed, customer service at a bar is where the most revenue is generated. I guess she never learned that. If she was working in our establishment I would have fired her on the spot. She even had the audacity to say she has never had a complaint. So we took a straw poll with tables around us and with a unanimous vote they all said Sarah was the worst they have ever encountered. Needless to say the change was not for the better for a place that was like our little own«CHEERS» where everyone knows your name. We will try again probably next week as our usual getaway but if Sarah is behind the bar again we will turn around and take our business elsewhere and possibly find a new place to spend our money.

I love this place. The foods good and it’s usually empty on the restaurant side so the service is decent and you’ve got the place to yourself. I would recommend the ny strip before the ribeye.

My tenderloin steak was amazing. My boyfriend’s was a rib eye. Not quite as good. Soup was pedestrian. But the salad was good and the potatoes were good. Wait staff were friendly enough. Overall, pretty good. But the persistent fly who kept us company during the entire meal was annoying enough to make to make us think twice before coming back.

This was my first visit here. I had the mushroom and Swiss burger &fries and I have to say I was impressed. The staff was very courteous and friendly. The cook also came out to ask us if we enjoyed our meal. I give them a thumbs up!

Stopped here with my niece to try a mom and pop place after picking her up from work. It’s an old fashion steak house that I’m pretty sure hasn’t been remodeled since the 70’s. We were the only ones in the dining room since my niece isn’t old enough to go to the bar side(where there were a few more people). Deep fried green beans to start would have been delicious but they weren’t cooked all the way through. I got a bbq burger and the niece got chicken strips and fries. Her chicken was still raw in places. The waitress was nice enough to comp both the green beans and the chicken so all we paid for was the burger. However, I won’t be returning. :(

Works for me. I’m on the constant hunt for a place that will fill the hole Country Bill left in my heart, and Olé’s Medium Rare is close. Not quite close enough, because it’s out in Clackamas, but it has just the right combination of fancy circa 1970s(think: lots of stained-glass lighting fixtures) and grimy(also c. 1970s) that makes a place feel divey without being downright dirty. I didn’t make it into the dining room, but the bar area is quite spacious, with a smattering of booths, video games, video poker, pinball and reality TV. It’s family-owned and has been since the beginning, living through various incarnations including, reportedly, Olé’s Chinese Food. They do things like 50c off for wearing a cowboy hat, or fundraisers to send talented waitresses to audition for The Voice. They serve breakfast all day and have bloody marys that look like this: I was able to get dinner(a shared chicken strip basket) and drinks for 3(Bud, Mirror Pond & a cider) for right about $ 20. You can see the menu here, thanks to Roxy B. I’d say it’s not your mama’s restaurant and lounge, but it very well may be your grandma’s. Olé!

Food was good it was the special chicken fried steak sandwhich with tater tot or fries. Hubby had fries, I had tater tots. The sandwhich was alright in size, the bread was sort of burnt on the inside of mine, tater tots aere good. $ 7.50 per person. Service was… well it was semi ok, hubby got my drink refill but I really dont like sitting to eat my food while waitresses are arguing and almost shouting in the phone to their kids its unacceptable in a work enviroment and a place where people eat in place, they also stand around watching dr oz on tv.
