Kind of long work week so we decided to grab Rubios instead of making dinner and having to clean up. With new year resolutions fresh in our minds we did HealthMex burritos, mine was Mahi and my wife ordered the chicken. Hers came out and you could immediately see a big chunk of salmon was mixed in with her chicken(hates fish). She showed me and I took the salmon piece and smelled at nibbled it… yep…definitely fish. We brought it back and in a few minutes the Mgr comes over with the burrito unrolled to show us it was made with chicken… and acts like we are going to eat that burrito after we both know it had fish in it and its been picked through to disprove our claim… uh, no. The guy acted put out but was polite about making another one. It was obvious some fish got mixed in… no big deal… but kind of rude to feel you need to disprove your customer and then expect them to eat a picked through burrito.

I haven’t been to a Rubio’s in quite some time. I felt that things had been going downwards in terms of quality. However we found ourselves at Rubio’s the other day. It really had been quite a while because the place was almost unrecognizable in décor. Craft beer? Food brought to your table? Desserts beyond the obligatory churro? What happened? Whatever did worked for me. I liked the ambiance and most importantly the food was much better prepared. I especially liked my blackened mahi burrito. The fish was flaky with a good deal of heat. A great healthier option on the fast casual scene.

The seafood burritos are delicious. You even get the option of ordering a whole wheat tortilla instead. I’m a fan of the classic shrimp burrito with extra chipotle white sauce. I think it’s awesome that all burritos come with tortilla chips. The self serve salsa bar is great, I always end up with at least 5 containers lol. The picante salsa and chipotle are the best. I usually order over the phone. I appreciate their customer service and they always have my order ready in a timely manner.

Good food, and good customer service. I had a choice between here, k grill and tapioca express. K grill just didn’t look good to me, so I went into tapioca. I was completely ignored so I tried Rubios. I’m so glad I came I. Because the food was tasty and, minus the rice, seemed pretty healthy. Surely I will come again, maybe I’ll even try k grill next time!

Went for a quick dinner since we had a busy night. My deluxe tacos were good even getting them to go. Service wasn’t the best… It took forever to get our to go order! Chips were stale but again we did bring it to go.

I’m not a big Rubio’s fan but I have eaten their food. It’s ok, not sure what possessed me to walk in here today. It smells pretty bad… kinda like a drainage is letting out a funky smell. Soooo. I walked out and I’m headed to get Panera Bread.

I been going to Rubios for a couple of years now. But I have to say this one of my worst visits. Let me start at the beginning of my visit last night. I arrived and it takes a while for somebody to acknowledge me and take my order. Then after I placed my order, the tables in the dinning area were not cleaned from the previous visits. I had to go get few napkins and wet them down myself and clean my own table. Then I go get some salsa and it was almost empty and the one I wanted, some thing from another salsa was in it. And to finish off the night, the order took a long time and when I finally got my food, the food was cold and hard. I did not feel like complaining in person. I felt like voicing it out online.

Great experience. We went Saturday for lunch & it was kind of busy but the service was still quick. We ordered the fish taco plate and shrimp burrito and it was fantastic. Pricey but a after you eat it you forget about the price. The restroom were surprisingly super clean for how busy they were, that’s a huge plus! We will be coming back to this Rubios.

I ordered food from here yesterday after ordering by phone. I had to stand in line for 10 minutes. When I went to pick it up around 630pm, the woman at the counter didn’t even greet me. Not even a, «Hello, how can I help you?» She just stared at me. I let her know I was there to pick up my order. Then she went to get my order, and said, «Ok, swipe your card. «I asked her, «Can you please tell me how much it is before I pay for it?» She rolled her eyes and told me. Who does that? Mind you, she didn’t even go through my order to tell me what anything was. So I went to the counter In front of the counter, and took everything out to examine it. Neither of my burritos had a sticker on them to tell me what one was what; one was a vegetarian and one was a steak. Finally someone asked me if I was missing something, «No, I’m just trying to see if everything is here because no one went through it with me.» I’m not sure if yesterday was a bad day, because I normally have great service when I come here. Two stars out of five because the food was good. Minus three out of 5 because the service was bad.

Ok no matter how whiter & whiter this place gets(it use to be very Latino in there taste of food) it’s still good. And one if the few places me & my family can all agree to eat at & enjoy! The kids always get the Chicken Taquitos with a churro & beans in a kids meal & they love it. There mom always gets the Bean Cheese burrito with chips & she loves it & I’ll admit that burrito is pretty good. Me I always get a fish taco of course, it’s a very good size taco & very tasty, I’ve always liked there fish tacos. I get that always with a salmon taco with avocado, that’s my fav there. There Salmon salad is very good too. There salsa bar is very good & always clean. This location is always clean & very spacey in & outside. The service is always good. Things I wouldn’t get tho are the street tacos & the tortilla soup, I was not a fan of either. They can be pricey too, but hey it’s worth it, my family all loves it here & I’m a fan of there fish tacos & salmon. Might be the only fish taco place where you’ll see black, white & Asians working at but it’s still good :)

Rubios is casual dining quality food at a fast food style restaurant. — food is always delicious from tacos to burritos. I love the fish tacos and shrimp burritos –the ordering process is simple –the salsa bar has a variety of choice –price wise it is one of the more expensive fast foods

Hungry from a long day in the sun and looking for a quick meal but not the usual fast food chain my brother, son and I ended up at Rubio’s. Rubio’s may be a chain but I really wish we had a few outposts here in Illinois. The food is fresh, there’s a nice selection of salsas at the salsa bar and the price isn’t too bad. The menu lists different kinds of tacos and burritos but what makes them popular are the fish tacos. I chose the Coastal Trio which had the Original Fish Taco, the Salsa Verde Shrimp Taco and the Regal Springs Tilapia Taco. They were all good, fresh and tasty. My favorite was the Tilapia taco but that doesn’t say much because Tilapia is of my favorite fish anyway. My son loved his Cheese quesadilla and beans. Friendly service, clean digs. My favorite place for fish tacos when I’m in SCal is South Beach Bar & Grill in OB, but Rubio’s will do in a pinch.

BESTFISHTACOSAROUND, no matter that this is a franchise. If you are a tourist, you HAVE to try the Original Fish Tacos. Come on a Tuesday after 2:30PM and they are only $ 1.50! Great breading and delicious fish. Salsa varieties are great too. With that said, these really are the best things on the menu. Other items are just«ok.» There is a Rubio’s around every corner in San Diego, so really any will do. I just happen to like the staff here more. Once, the kitchen messed up on our order, but when we told the manager lady, we were really satisfied with the way she handled and fixed the problem. They definitely know how to correct mistakes and manage their staff at this branch, so we really can’t complain. Happy customers!

This is my family’s favorite«fast food» place. And it still is. My man and I came here today to grab a quick lunch. He ordered a burrito and I got one kids meal: chicken quesadilla, rice & one churro. The cashier accidentally gave me a cheese quesadilla instead of the chicken. I hate correcting people. it scares me(idk why). Anyway, I went up to the register to ask the employee if I can change mine to chicken, and he gladly changed it for me and let me keep the cheese one. I was expecting him to be grumpy, but he was very kind about it. I always loved their food, so no complain. My all time favorite is their chicken quesadilla and rice. They give you decent amount of chicken in each slice. Also, their chips are not salty like Chipotle. Less sodium, better for me :) Overall, this location is full of bright and kind employees. Thankful that the cashier let me get kids meal :) I can never finish the regular sized one. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a place with great customer service and clean environment.

I heard Rubio’s was serving up a new fish taco: the Regal Springs Tilapia Tacos with Serrano pepper slaw and a creamy chipotle sauce. Being hungry, I ordered the combo meal, blackened fish, and with the black beans and chips and a drink( ). The fish was well grilled and its temp was just right. It was very tender, flaky, and juicy and filled with very good Cajun flavor( ). The put on a pretty good blackened exterior. The Serrano slaw and chipotle cream sauce both provided great flavor( ). I liked that the slaw because it was refreshing and had a nice little kick from the peppers. One thing I would suggest to Rubio’s would be to double wrap those grilled fish tacos with two corn tortillas because all that juice from the grilled fish tends to break apart the single tortilla bout half way into the meal. The black beans were very good and I appreciated the sprinkling of cheese on top. They were prepared to a tender morsels and tasted really good. They were perfect for eating with the corn tortilla chips( ). Service was very good at this location. All the employees, including the peeps in the kitchen were very friendly. The place was well kept and the bathroom was clean.
