I used to love going to the Water Tower store, but new manager and staff are AWFUL. If you are a size 2, they will treat you nicely, but last night I was«fat shamed» for returning some XL/XXL items that I bought online(I had receipt and all tags were on… it’s not like I was trying to return worn items.) I actually wanted to get two pajama sets in a SMALLER size, but left as soon as the return was done, which seemed to take forever. I didn’t want to spend another $ or minute in that store.

Soma is one place that I can be assured to find a proper fitting bra. I stopped in to find that they had new colors ad new styles. I was quite pleased. Unfortunately I was pressed for time, I didn’t get to peruse much. But I will say this, they had a lot of a selection in their store front.

I work for an intimates brand and stopped by Soma Intimates in Chicago with a couple co-workers while visiting the city for work. They have fantastic intimates for middle-aged and older women such as full coverage and vanishing back bras, a range of underwear from thongs to high rise briefs, dressy sleepwear, and loungewear. My co-worker and I – we both are in our mid-twenties — were quickly greeted by a sales associate. I appreciated the attention until it became overbearing. We were asked multiple times if we needed help as we slowly wandered around the store. I felt that they suspected us of shoplifting since we were about 30+ years younger than their target demographic. After the in-your-face customer service experience, I wouldn’t plan on going back to this retailer unless shopping for my mom.

Not only do you carry my size, the sales woman also very gently and politely pointed me to the fitting room because it was my first time there. How sweet! And she acknowledged my presence the minute I walked into their store. Oh and if you’ve read my reviews for Victoria’s Secret in the same building, you’ll know that SOMA has a return policy of 90 days. Sweet. Plus if you join their mailing list, apparently you can get 5% once you spend $ 500 at their store in a lifetime. That’s pretty sweet too.(That’s probably around 10 bras assuming you buy the plain-looking ones for around $ 50…) Sweet customer service will bring a happy customer back for sure.

I’m the first to admit that I cut fiduciary corners more often than not, especially when it comes to high-traffic items like bras and undies. Utilitarian, not much fun and no one sees them much so what do I care? Not anymore, I have seen the light. Soma’s ladies are helpful and never pushy. They make the experience easy and comfortable, and the stock is lovely. There’s something for everyone to make your girls look the best they can. Padded, lacy, push up, full coverage, cute, fun, functional and on and on. Lots of comfy pj’s and pretty undies, even a bra sale rack where all of them are only twenty bucks. Three other items caught my eye while I was there and I completely plan to return for them. In fact, one color caught my eye that they were out of and my girl Molly said she’d order it for me and have it shipped to my address, free of charge. Nice!
