Super speedy location. I would go here even if I’m not shopping at the Target. Get the salmon quinoa salad bowl. It’s beyond good for something so healthy. Also, I love getting chai here. So cheap at $ 2.59. Add a bit of cinnamon to it to make it wonderful.

Pret conceptually is a cool concept — fresh food made that day(otherwise donated to local charities). As a chain I love the concept. This particular location is right in the middle of a Target. Despite that, and getting random people/shoppers who wander into the restaurant and even plop down and relax; this store rocks because of its employees. They’re friendly, helpful and always hustling — to refill those food shelves, clean tables, make a special beverage you order or ring up your order. This place could be a disaster just because of the setup/layout alone, but the staff makes it work, and then some!

Rude and does not appreciate, or deserve, your money. Shopping at target and buying a drink at Pret is not enough to entitle you to sit in their half empty café during lunch if, for once, you’re not eating one their sandwiches as well. That’s fine, pret. I will happily stop spending over $ 20/week on your crappy, pre made, under garnished and over priced sandwiches. No wonder you’re the only place in the loop with available seating during lunch.

I used to like Pret, I go to the one on Michigan a lot because the people there are nice and friendly. The whole store is well managed, whereas this location, there just doesn’t seem like a manager there. How else would the guy tear up a piece of napkin and hands me half and refused to give me a napkin when I asked for some napkins for the sandwich I bought? He literally, took 2 pieces of napkins out, put one on the side, teared one in half, and refused to give me anything except the half he teared up. I gave up and left after I asked nicely for some napkins a second time and was refused and handed over, again, that half piece of disrespect and humiliation. Never, have I ever, in my life, had received such AWFUL customer service and I eat practically 90% of my meals at restaurants or cafes. Maybe he’s the manager, I don’t know, hes wearing black while everyone else was wearing white but if he is the manager then I can see why this location is nothing but a noisy truck with absolutely no class or respect for the customer or public. Not only that, the first time I went in to make a order the people would be screaming and yelling and singing behind the counter with such a loud noise that covers the voice of the customer and the guy that was helping me. He was actually annoyed because I tried to wait for them to stop singing to speak because I cant hear him talk and he cant hear me speak, just an awful experience. I don’t know about you, but when I go to a café I wasn’t expecting to eat lunch with mariachi band behind the counter just making loud noise. It just creates a bad atmosphere for the public in general. I can see they are trying to lift up the spirit of the customers but there are better ways to do it than savagely causes scenes constantly. Honestly, with a Pret that’s a block a block away, I don’t really see a point in the existence for this location. wish they would replace this pret with something else.

I am a bit Pret fan and have been for years, but I was so disappointed with my experience today. I saw they had a new sandwich with avocado, corn, and kale. It looked packed with avo and as an avid avocado fan I figured I had just found my new favorite sandwich. But the sandwich was super deceiving. ALL the avocado in the entire sandwich was pushed to the section that was showing through the wrapper. Deceptive advertising at best. Not sure why I just paid almost $ 7.00 for what amounted to corn and dressing wrap, but I won’t make the mistake to eat here again. A good point is that the employees are always very nice and helpful, so all the points go to them despite the hollow sandwiches.

Located at the state street Target, this location has seating along the front with a great view of state street for some awesome people watching. The prices are mid range and the offerings are well prepared and fresh. The coffee is good also. This location is clean with ample seating.

This is pretty darn tasty fast food. Here’s what I love about Pret. I love their soups. My all time favorite is their Moroccan Lentil, the best Lentil soup ever! I love that I can purchase a half sandwich. I love their cold pressed juices. Their Tangerine juice rocks my world, even though it is not cold pressed. I love that they have so many healthy items to choose from. If there weren’t so many things to love about Pret, they also donate anything that is left at the end if the day to the needy. Here’s what I do not like and it cost them their fifth star. The sodium levels are very high in many of their sandwiches and soups. The other issue is that you cannot customize a sandwich or anything else as everything is pre made. However, all in all, a great place to grab a quick bite to eat, whether large or small.

I travel to and from Chicago quite frequently with work and of course this was my first time trying a Pret or their tea and a big thank you to «Dee» who now has me turned on to «Peppermint Tea» so great salesmanship and selection. So of course when I am in town again I will be doing by. Thanks Dee!

I usually love coming to pret for a quick bite. I LOVE their yogurt and sandwiches. but something terrifying happened today. holy shit. As I was about to take another bite out of my sandwich, I saw two little antennas sticking out. My head kind of spun hoping it wasnt what I thought it was but… it WAS indeed what I thought it was. a FREAKING nasty ass bug with all of it’s buggy detailed body! so. BEWARE when you eat their sandwiches, make sure to LOOK at your food with each and every bite I cant give them a 1 star for what was not their mistake but(or was it? maybe they didnt wash their greens thoroughly enough) still freaking gross!!! they refunded me for the sandwich and offered anything I wanted to grab-on the house but I had lost all my appetite so I rejected their offer.

Great Food and options on the go such as a fresh crawfish sandwich and great mini salads but they are little overpriced especially for the portions since they’re in Target its open late!

Love the selection, but I have to say the sandwiches are a disappointment. Mostly bread with hardly any fillings. Everything looks good, but not a great bargain. I have a salad for dinner later & already the avocado looks kinda brown.

This location is inside of Target, located downtown, with a subway stop right outside — so, it pretty much is everything you can ask for in a Pret. If you’re familiar with Pret, this is a decently run-of-the-mill location. I grabbed a juice and had some of their bacon and their vegetarian mac and cheese. The vegetarian one, which would normally be my choice, was absolutely disgusting — but the bacon one was workable. If you’re not familiar with Pret, they are slightly overpriced, decent food fast but not fast food places. They have healthy options. Everything is made fresh that day and somethings are made throughout the day. You can run in, grab something and run out. Hot things are in hot cases and cold things in cold cases — you just grab what you want, take it to the register and are on your way. The lines move quickly. If you’re in a rush but hungry, this place is for you! It’s nice to be able to grab what you need from Target, grab food and hop on the train. And they have fresh grapefruit juice. I cannot hate on a place with fresh grapefruit juice.

Pret A Manger is a small chain of cafes that sell ready-made sandwiches, soups, and coffee to-order. My first Pret’s experience was at this Target location. The sandwiches and soups are made fresh daily and today’s offerings are donated to non-profits serving the homeless and food-insecure at the end of the day. In Chicago, they partner with The Greater Chicago Food Depository. NY, Boston, and DC also host Pret’s locations. You can see the food items being made behind closed doors to the kitchen. The food items are on the pricier side, but they are made with quality items and you’ll find they are more creative than your standard café. Look for items like balsamic chicken and avocado sandwiches and New York meatball hot wraps. The coffee is made-to-order and organic. Pret’s prides themselves on their organic coffee and has been promoting their iced coffee this summer. I ordered a warm mocha, which at $ 1.99 plus tax, was fairly priced and had a good foam. The mocha is not too sweet, but has the bitter taste of dark chocolate. The paper cups and lids are made from sustainable materials, and are surprisingly good quality and provide good insulation. The staff are friendly and always ready to take your order. Cons: You have to ask for paper napkins at this location, but other cutlery are readily available. This location has wooden booths and small tables like your local Starbucks. For a Target location, they have quite a bit of space. But, cafes inside big-box retailers in downtown Chicago are actually a thing here.

This Pret is conveniently located inside Target, which is great for those looking to grab a bite to eat before/after shopping on their lunch break. The selection is pretty good. You have a variety of hot & cold sandwiches, soups, salads and sides(chips and popcorn) to satisfy your hunger. The sweets are conveniently located by the checkout area. The usual suspects — cookies, brownies, some fruit bar that makes me thing it is healthy but isn’t — lay in wait… waiting for you to indulge in them. There is ample seating including a long bench area in front of the large window overlooking State Street. It’s the perfect spot for people watching! There are also tables located more toward Target’s merchandise as well as booths. Pret is a great lunch choice since everything is ready to go. You can pick what you want, pay and get out of there very quickly. Again, it’s a great option for the busy Loop worker bee that needs to return to his/her desk to get more work done while eating. However, you do pay a premium for the convenience. Granted — the quality of ingredients in their products is far superior than your typical fast-food joint. And, they donate the food they don’t sell so you’re always going to get it fresh. Yes, that is nice and all. That being said, I’ve easily spent just a little over $ 10 on half a sandwich(get the Chicken & Bacon), a cup of chicken noodle soup(perfect for beating the chill in your office or on a frigid day) and some chips(get the Rosemary & Olive Oil). Needless to say, that as much as I love Pret, I try to keep my visits to a minimum and/or reserve them for when I’m in an absolute pinch. The costs really rack up quickly if you go frequently.

This is one of my favorite locations because it’s ridiculously convenient! The hours are awesome because it’s located right inside Target. I used to work right down the street from this lovely spot, so I would spend many lunch breaks perusing Tar-che’ and grabbing a bite at Pret A Manager. Everything I’ve had from them has been delicious! My favorite lunch-on-the-go is the Buffalo Chicken wrap with BBQ chips and a Yoga Bunny Detox drink. I love knowing I’m eating natural ingredients and it’s convenient that they list the nutritional facts clearly for you to see. Every employee I’ve come in contact with behind the counter has been such a gem. I appreciate them always suggesting new items and genuinely asking how I like everything! It truly is the nicest, quickest, healthiest lunch you can grab in the area. Next time I’m in the loop I shall be back!

Pret A Manger is a chain of sandwich/coffee shops headquartered in England. Pret A Manger specializes in ready to eat food. Pret A Manger is a word that means ready to eat in French. Pret A Manger is the restaurant of the City Target in the Chicago Loop. Instead of Target placing the customary Starbuck’s and Pizza Hut inside, they placed a popular chain headquartered in Great Britain. According to Wikipedia, Pret A Manger is so popular that you could see a couple from every roundabout. In my opinion that is probably exaggerated. But then again it seems like we could see a couple of Starbuck’s from every major intersection. The thing is that Pret A Manger is a place that looks ordinary to first timers like myself. In all honesty it looks like a counter where you order and pick up a caffeine beverage to the right of a row of refrigerators displaying ready to eat(Pret A Manger) sandwiches, sushi, baguettes, soup, salad, and so on. With that said I regarded Pret A Manger as simply a pret a boire la café(ready to drink coffee). In all honesty I wasn’t hungry. The City Target was only a stop on the Loop. At first it was a dare to try the coffee here. The coffee stands out for the simple fact that it is organic. I never really thought about organic coffee before. I go for the strong coffee: Café Americana. I was impressed with the Café Americana. It passed my expectations. When we sipped the coffee in comfortable seats, it was in an interesting spot. A City Target is interesting ?! This City Target is historic preservation in action. It is the historic Sullivan Center, a building rich in history that dates back to the 1930s. Drinking an organic Café Americana on the couch, I took in the art décor column capitals. I guess all this history could be an excuse for the general lack of outlets to plug a smartphone into. As I looked straight between sips of the beverage and conversation, I’d see the Pret A Manger food. There a big sign stood out stating that they make the food fresh and at the end of the day they give the leftovers to charity. The sign missing was food is prepared from fresh ingredients(supposedly) and cooked inside a kitchen in back of the wall. For people unfamiliar with this company, the misconception is Pret A Manger is packaged food with a sell by date. This would be a busier place if people were cognizant of their policy of cooking food each day and giving the leftovers to the homeless to start the next day cooking fresh food. The Pret A Manger website states that they are against franchising and that they want to grow slowly. Currently Chicago is one of the few United States markets that they are in. Without any locations in Vegas, it looks like I will not be using the word Pret A Manger for awhile. But I do want to spread the word that if you are up to something different than Starbuck’s or the typical chain coffee shop, remember the word Pret A Manger.

I’m going to have to start out here with two stars. I’m not saying«there ain’t hope» and that I’ll never give it another go, but I think it says something when you are given a free lunch and it’s so bad that you can only muster up an «I’ve experienced better.» Few months back, I’d answered some survey questions outside the Aon building and voila! $ 10 thank you card. I love that this Pret is located right inside the Target on State(first floor)(as an aside, I DON’T love that there’s nary an outlet in the whole area in which to capture a quick recharge.) Anyway, the employees were excellent, and the sandwich selection was decent even at after usual sandwich eating time(6:30ish pm). I first gravitated toward the Chipotle Chicken Bacon and Avocado and after looking at everything else available, I came back to it. I wish I hadn’t. The taste was fairly bland, though you could tell that it was very fresh. The avocado was still pretty green,(not browning) but it already was getting mushy. It didn’t go well with the hardness of the bacon. I noticed from the git-go that the chicken in it was scant and so, as chicken goes, it didn’t contribute one way or the other to the taste. The worst part was the over-seasoning. A black pepper explosion. I almost didn’t eat the other half but I was hungry. The other half was even worse — so bad that the pepper even made me cough. I’m no sissy either on salt and or pepper. For the price point $ 7.99, it was a disappointment. I think the concept is fine and it would have probably won me over had the sandwich been anything special.(Or edible without coughing!) However, anytime you pre-make a sandwich and put it in plastic, I can’t help but conjure the site of vending machine mush. And that’s indeed pretty much what this turned out to be.

YUM! I love that they have several healthy options! We tried the red pepper falafel wrap and it was GREAT! A little bit of kick and a ton of flavor. I mean, this place is better than most sit down restaurants in the area. I like that they have the calories so you know what you are putting in your mouth. I mean, I usually try to eat healthy, but its amazing the stuff fast food sneaks into your food! Grab, pay and go! YAY! I love Pret!
