This Potbelly is in my office building and I have nothing but good things to say about their staff, food preparation, and how quickly they get you your order even during the crazy lunch rush. The manager is super hands on and always has a smile on his face, and you can tell that the place is well run because the same pleasant employees are always present which means the turnover is super low. I love Potbelly and practically don’t have to leave my desk to get a delicious sandwich or smoothie. I’d give them more than 5 stars if I could!

Friendly staff offering smile and soup samples! Black Bean Sriracha Soup is delicious. It’s not the puréed variety, but a lively mix of finely chopped veggies, including black beans, onions, tomatoes and celery. The Sriracha lends a slight kick of spice and garlic that can only be had from the magic of Sriracha. Their ham is particularly smokey which is excellent when crisped up in the oven. Easy online ordering available which is a great way to skip the one at lunchtime.

It always smells like burning bread and sitting in here for even 15 minutes makes my hair smell like I’ve been sitting around a campfire all night. I don’t understand the smell. Sandwiches are ok– I’m not the biggest fan of their translucent turkey meat. It’s a basic Chicago staple and fast when you’re in a pinch. That’s about it.

CROWDED! LOUD! It was so crowded, I couldn’t even get my order in the way I wanted it. I ordered a pulled pork with cheese and they didn’t add cheese. The sandwich was pretty good. I felt very rushed and ordering was very stressful… SKIP

I’m a big fan of the breakfast sandwich square — Ham, Egg, and Mushroom — and I order it maybe once or twice a week(don’t judge … it’s just the perfect size and I love it!). However, I docked stars because the morning crew at this location are a surly bunch of individuals. Even when I’m try to be pleasant, I feel like the girl taking orders has a grudge against me and my love of the breakfast square with no cheese(either this, or she needs to work on her customer service because she’s unpleasant). And it’s not just the person taking orders in the morning, it’s everyone(actually, the cashier is usually pleasant). I usually go in after whatever morning rush they might have(9AM-ish) and it’s usually empty. No matter what, when I specifically request no cheese on the sandwich, it still ends up melted all over my poor mushrooms and ham. So this morning, I took matters into my own hands and told the girl to be more careful with my sandwich. When I ask for no cheese, I mean it and she better remember it.(Ok, I wasn’t that mean, but I made it quite clear I didn’t want cheese on my sandwich and I didn’t want a repeat of the same mistake from the previous day this week, and last week, and the week before.) So why am I making a big deal over just a little swiss cheese? Because if this person(or anyone else there) can be this careless when it’s not remotely busy in the store, what other mistakes are being made when it is? I still plan on going to this Potbelly for my weekly breakfast square, but if there were another Potbelly in the area, I would go there instead, just to avoid the morning crew at this location.

I really enjoyed coming here for breakfasts when I was in Chicago! Their breakfast sandwiches were great and it was located in the building I was in! It was a great location but sometimes they wouldn’t have avocado already cut up and I couldn’t get it because who has time to wait for avocado in the morning! It kinda looked a little junkie behind the counter which made me think it wasn’t the cleanest. But I’m sure it was fine the food was good, the staff was friendly even tho their was one girl who always complained about being there in the morning which isn’t s good look for an employee because as a customer I could really feel that she didn’t want to be there!

Grabbed lunch to go from here and loved it, as I knew I would(being a HUGE Potbelly fan). Décor: It’s a Potbelly so you get the standard random stuff on the walls and semi-hipster vibe. However, this is a decent-sized location so if you wanted to stay and eat you should be able to find a seat. Bathroom: None. Staff: The staff is always speedy with taking orders, making sandwiches and completing transactions. On top of that they are usually always smiling and more than friendly while getting down to business and making your grub. Food: The food is always delicious at Potbelly. When I cannot think of anywhere else to go I always hit it up because I know I’m getting a good solid meal. I always end up getting the same thing too: a big Wreck on wheat, potato salad, and chips. If I’m feeling like a treat then I’ll get a sugar cookie because they are absolutely the BEST cookies in the entire world. Seriously, I’m not kidding. Somehow they figured out the exact time to take them out of the oven so they are right on that line of just-cooked raw cookie dough. Fantastic! But THIS time I tried the new Pulled Pork sandwich and I was pretty impressed. The BBQ sauce is very tasty and they put a lot of meat on the sandwich — I’d suggest loading on the toppings though. Value: The distance your dollar goes here is great! You can easily walk out with a solid lunch and not spend much more than $ 10 and change. I love Potbelly and always have. This will always have a spot in my general lunch rotation well into the future.

This place is so good. I got the big wreck on regular bread with hot peppers mayo lettuce and pickles. My dad got the roast beef on flatbread. Both were amazing and fresh. The soup is delicious as well. In addition to these wonderful attributes, the customer service is great and the place is clean and original. Check this place out for lunch!

This is an exceptionally well-run Potbelly Sandwich Shop. I have catered food from them on several occasions, and they are the best. Definitely recommended.

Great service here. They were very busy when I was here but they still got the crowds thru fairly quickly. Very cheap price for a good sandwich. I enjoyed it and gladly came back again during my trip.

The Wreck is where it’s at. Add spicy peppers if you love a kick! I used to live above this Potbelly’s and worked in West Loop, so I was here often. The service was always fast and efficient and the food on par every time. Just beware of the lunch rush, it definitely fills up!

Great sandwiches! My hubby and I were hungry and wanted a quick bite somewhere. We looked on Unilocal and saw that Potbelly was nearby. It sounded just like what we were looking for. I couldn’t believe how reasonable their prices were for Chicago. I got the Italian sandwich with salami, pepperoni and capicola and my husband got a Wreck. We were both very happy with our sandwiches and pleasantly surprised that they were toasted. Now that’s how you make a sandwich! The service was very good and the staff was quick and efficient. I really like this place a lot. I can see why it’s a popular place. Next time I want to try one of their soups or a salad. Potbelly’s is way better than Subway’s or Jimmy John’s. I wish there was one where I live. I’ll just have to get my fix the next time I’m in Chicago.

This Potbelly’s rocks. They are super fast, very nice, and if you want something special then they will make it for you. The tomato soup and veggie sandwich are my standard orders. Their veggie sandwich is basically a grilled cheese with mushrooms and any other veggie toppings you want. It’s heavenly. Be sure to try their hot peppers, and by all means get a milkshake!

This location is faster than most in making the sandwiches. I supposed they are used to the long lines during the lunch. Staff is great, food is great, I mean it is a potbellys after all. Quick fast and efficient. If you are in the neighborhood and crave potbellys stop in.

I know it’s odd to review a chain sandwich shop but the mark of a good chain is consistency and Potbelly does not disappoint. Any shop I’ve ever been into in Chicago is very good and this one is no exception. I like how at peak times they’ll have someone at the end of the like taking orders so that when you get up to the counter, your food is ready to go. And maybe they’ve always had them but I just noticed today there are salads. Go figure! I am so focused on the roast beef I guess I never noticed. Good selection of drinks, snacks, soups, sandwiches and shakes. Hard not to find something here you’ll like. Staff is friendly and place is clean. What more could you want?

They take your order when you get in line. If you’re not ready yet, they’ll come back and take your order. They have a guarantee that you’re in and out within 8 minutes and they sure did not disappoint! They toast your sandwich and you can get a sandwich for under $ 6 that tastes amazing! I’ve tried their chicken with cheddar and their chicken salad and both were amazing. I wish they had these in the West. So much better than Subway!

My favorite potbelly’s since coming to Chicago. The workers know their lunch rush is coming and are ready for it, armed with iPads to keep the line moving. I haven’t had bad customer service yet, and am normally in and out within 5 minutes. All in all, it tastes like every other potbellys, just with better service.

I’m a pretty big fan of Potbelly. A good amount of food for a good price. A BIG(read their version of Venti /large) sandwich runs $ 5.70 + tax and tacking on some bacon adds $ 1.25. A small sandwich is $ 4. Steal. A better sandwich than Which Wich and definitely better than Subway for a good price. This location, despite being in a big office building in the loop has its own feel to it. A little nook over some booths, tchokeys all over the place — A chain that doesn’t feel like a chain. During the lunch hour its busy because of the location, but other times this place is a breeze to deal with. Closed Sundays. Definitely on Dearborn and not on Monroe, as claimed.

Points for being open on Saturdays. Seriously, lots of places in the Loop close on Saturday but this is not one of them. What else can be said? It is Potbellys. Food is pretty standard. I enjoy both the sandwiches and salads. I also enjoy the variety of beverages and chips. Staff is professional and pleasant. And if you work at 55 W Monroe you can eat here without having to leave the building. Very helpful when you forget to bring lunch and the weather is nasty.
