Craving answered and satisfied in a major way… I have found my spot for a great Philly Cheese… never realized how close they were to my job… and the best part, they deliver up to 4am for only $ 3 with no minimum ordered!!! The name suits them, they are the best in my opinion…

I’ve been waiting to try this place for a couple of months and I’m totally disappointed. I had a $ 12.49(large) Philly Steak with white cheese. Horrible, meat was chewy.

First time there ordered a 8″ philly cheese steak, was good but very small. I don’t think it’s worth $ 9 not what I seen in the pictures on Unilocal

Ordered a Phillips cheese steak with… no bun. I could tell from the reaction that it wasn’t common, but they allowed it! Got some mushrooms and peppers to top it off. The meat was a little dry but that may have been to the lack of soggy bread. The Buffalo wings are crispy and tangy. I would go back for both so it gets a 4 star. Pick up took about 15 minutes.

I have been craving a Philly cheesesteak for sometime now. With all the great reviews on Unilocal! The last time I had a superb cheesesteak was at Big Al’s in Delray Beach, FL. Other than of course Pat’s or Gino’s. I walk into Philly’s, after finding street parking. I order a small cheesesteak wiz, grilled onions, and ketchup, salt and pepper. They serve Amoroso buns too! I opt for the garlic version, cuz hey why not. Avoiding the Greek vampires that day.(I’m in Greektown). I go to use the bathroom. Updated and spotless. Love it. Huge kitchen in the back, and open, so I can catch a glimpse of the cook. Plenty of inside seating. My cheesesteak is ready in a timely fashion. I open it up, wow! I can’t wait to dive in and so be it if my cholesterol goes thru the roof. I could die happy. The bun is soggy and falling apart, I can’t figure out why??? I would like it soft on the inside and a bit of crust outside. No go. The flavor of the meat? Not so much. Granted the wiz and the grilled onions were on point, the meat lacked any juice. It was really dry. For supposedly being shaved ribeye meat, there is ZERO dripping meat factor. I have serious sad face. I think I would have liked the sandwich better had I come here drunk hungry. Disappointed. Maybe coming in at 3pm is not their shining(juice dripping) moment.

This food is exactly what you want it to be. When you have that late night craving or just want some amazing fries this is the spot. We had a chicken Philly and seasoned fries with cheese on the side. The chicken was tender and flavorful and the garlic bread was very fresh. I could tell all the food was cooked at that time. Fries were super crunchy and well seasoned. I prefer them over Mr. Greeks any day!

Wanted to give this place one more try, and now they can’t even get a simple sandwich order correct. When you make an online order and the options says NOONIONS in all caps, you would think that they could get that right. Sadly, you would be wrong. So, now I have a $ 12 sandwich that I don’t want to eat and when I call to complain, all I’m told is that I have to wait and call back when the manager is there.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. If your want chicken beaks in your meat, absolutely order from here. Otherwise, save your sanity and cash… as well as the mind EF game of.“who gets to bite into the chicken beak?!“ Normally, if I was unhappy with a delivery I would talk to the restaurant myself, but this experience was far too disgusting. Just take a look at the pictures

Woke up at 100 am hungry on a Thursday night. Wanted a cheese steak, but didn’t want to wait for delivery so I got dressed and drove over there. 1 on garlic bread, grilled onions and American. Seasoned fries. Hit the spot and I’m back to bed. My only complaint is the parking sucks. The only improvement needed is bikini valet service

I went to a party on Saturday night and lets just say we were hunnnnngry afterwards! This guy I met recommend Philly’s Best so we headed over there around midnight. The place was packed!!! Of course we got the Philly Cheese Steak and it was delicious. I’m not sure how much it cost, but the size was perfect and I was definitely satisfied. It’s great to discover new late night spots and have more options to visit. I will definitely come back here if I’m in the neighborhood.

TLDR; I remember this being 5* in college, but after more than a decade, I have to say the roll pretty much disintegrated to the touch(not the Amoroso’s I know in Philly). That being said, it’s delicious so it’ll drop it down to only 4*. — — - Regular followers know that I’ve never really been a fan of the majority of Philly’s cheese steak joints. There’s either not enough cheese or the meat is really dry. That being said, my Center City /South Philly favorites are John’s Roast Pork, Ishkabibble’s, Mike’s at the Comcast Center, Tony Luke’s, and Jim’s. Heck, I’ll even throw in Gooey Looie’s for the sheer heft! Hmm, maybe Philly has grown on me over the years(more on that later)? Admittedly, I may have had some bias because the first«Philly» cheese steak I had was at college — in Chicago. After a late night and even the next morning, there was nothing better than some cheese steaks from Philly’s Best. They were always juicy, dripping, and satiating that inner craving for grease, meat, and cheese. Granted, I’ll admit most of my faculties were probably not up to snuff when I ate them. So when I came back to Chicago for a work conference, the first stop I made(even before the hotel!) was to the Greektown outpost of Philly’s Best. It was late and midweek, but there were still plenty of folks from nurses to the gentlemen in blue — all stopping by for a cheese steak. You couldn’t help but notice the Philadelphia Inquirer articles adorning the walls and the pride they had in using Amoroso rolls! Cheese Fritters [$ 5.99] I started off with the cheese fritters. I can see these being decent hangover snacks, but I couldn’t help but compare them to fried cheese curds. While the fried cheese fritters were decently buttery and nicely crisped, there was no stretch from the cheese and frankly, you couldn’t really discern what was within. It came with a pat of marinara. But no matter — the fritters were just an attempt to satisfy my inner fat boy. I obviously came here for the cheese steak. Large Philly Cheese Steak [$ 13.24] Whiz & provolone, ‘wit, garlic bread These days, I have to order mine with both whiz and provolone — ‘wit and on a garlic toasted roll no less. The mélange of meat, cheese, and onions was just as I remembered — incredibly juicy, inundated with fried onion flavor, and well-seasoned. This isn’t clean living — the taste will be on your hands ’till the next morning. The only downfall? No idea why the whiz was put underneath the steak and thus, on top of the bread. That’s a huge pet peeve of mine. In what world should the roll be breaking apart from the liquid gold? Good thing I didn’t ask for delivery because that would have been a bigger mess. In retrospect now, structural integrity is something that Philly definitely has in spades. But I still have to give it to Philly’s Best(in Chicago!) — there’s something about their combo of meat, cheese, and onions that makes for the perfect bite. Combine that with a fresh roll that holds up to the heft — it’s definitely one of my top gustatory pleasures.

Finally a place outside of Philly that actually makes cheesesteaks that taste like real«Philly» cheesesteak! 5 stars for this place. Being that I was born and raised in Philly I know what a cheesesteak is suppose to taste like, so in 2009 when I heard about a place calling itself«Philly’s Best» I had to check it out. I was shocked as hell to discover that the cheesesteaks here actually taste like the cheesesteaks I grew eating. I’ve traveled this country and have eaten so called Philly cheesesteaks in numerous cities and after the first bite I’ve always said, «this ain’t no damn Philly cheesesteak!!» Thankfully, I did not have to say that after eating here. I’ve had relatives and friends from Philly visit me and everyone of them have stated that the cheesesteaks here taste like the ones you get back at home. Not the tourist trap places in Philly like Pat’s, Geno’s, Jim’s or the cheesesteaks sold at Reading Terminal Market… but the places(corner stores) you find in neighborhoods all over the City of Brotherly Love. Reasons why Philly’s Best cheesesteaks actually taste like the ones in Philly: 1) They don’t put marinara sauce on their cheesesteaks. I hate when places put marinara sauce on a cheesesteak and call it a Philly cheesesteak. Everyone from Philly knows that you don’t put marinara on a regular cheesesteak… you only get marinara sauce on your steak when you order a pizza steak. 2) They use Amoroso rolls. An Amoroso roll is a must for a true Philly cheesesteak. 3) They offer the right type of cheeses: American(white), provolone and whiz. 4) The founder of Philly’s Best was born in Philly so he knows what a cheesesteak should taste like. I highly recommend ordering a cheesesteak from here or one of their other locations. I order mine the way I’ve been doing all my life: American cheese, salt, pepper, ketchup, fried onions and pickles.

Huge disappointment! If this is how real cheesesteaks taste, I want no part of it. I paid $ 10 for one original steak sandwich & seasoned fries. The sandwich tasted like ground up White Castle burgers on a bun. The seasoned fries were terrible too. More like crusted fries, not seasoned like Popeyes or Checkers but had a crusted outer layer. All in all I ate the food because I was starving but was expecting better bang for my buck. Will possibly be back to try a sandwich with Cheez Whiz which I here is the way to go, but then again I dont like Cheez Whiz. Guess I’ll jus stick to Great Steak & Potato ;)

They have by far the best Philly cheese steak ive ever had! You have the option of customizing it by adding other ingredients like mushroom, black olives to your original philly steak.

Closest you’re going to get on this side of town to Phily. They’re very consistent in their product and menu. Although, I wish their staff was on top of the menu. There is the Original, steak, cheese and onions. They now have one made with chicken, called the Philly Chicken okay simple enough it’s made with chicken, got it. We step up to order, my husband says I’ll have an Original, the guy behind the counter then asks, you want steak or chicken. My husband says the original, otherwise I would have ordered the Philly Chicken. The guy once again asks the same question, so my husband says have you read your menu? Then there is some other small talk. I speak up and say, steak we’ll have the steak. Really now, I’m just too hungry to worry about the menu and how familiar this guy was with it. When it comes to fries if you want them to have a bit of a crunch order them crispy. We also prefer our steaks on the garlic bread. No real complaints, good product a bit on the pricey side, but then again they don’t have much competition.

Philly’s best has an item on their menu that you should not be sleeping on. THEPHILLYSTEAKROLL! It’s an egg roll with philly insides steak and onions. So freaking good. The onions are not obtrusive. They have a pretty great philly sandwich and their fries are JUSTRIGHT. Sometimes I feel like just ordering their fries if I order from another place that I am in the mood for but has garbage fries(too many places to list).

If a person from this restaurant ever in their life tell me that a Philly Cheese Steak Pizza is only Philly Cheese and no meat. DA Fuq you making this pizza for son? Da FUQ! I used to order from them all the time, but this debacle after this last pizza order. I can’t deal with you any longer. You will not be getting any more of my money. Those were same good pizzas too.

My sister and I came here for dinner. The guy was nice and let us take our time to look over the menu since it was our first time. South Street Beef Grinder — My sister opted for this on garlic bread and seemed to enjoy it, but she did say she would get a different kind next time. Small Philly Cheese Steak with Cheesewiz & Onions — I enjoyed this, but will maybe try it on garlic bread next time. Although a bit salty, but I think it was because of the cheesewiz. Large Seasoned Fries — These were okay. We both really enjoyed the bread here. Would definitely be back to try more. Not a fan of the bathroom doors… makes me feel uncomfortable with those type of doors.

Lies. Oh the humanity! Ain’t nothing philly or best about this joint. Guys, if you are very desperate for imitation cheesesteak, this will totally do the trick. It’s not gag worthy or anything but I’ve certainly experienced much much better. This happens to be around the corner from where I stay and I agree that it’s perfect drunk-night food. Not too oily but enough carb and protein to soak up that treacherous booze. Just don’t be fooled by the name. False advertising at its best.
