Not a bad place, nothing special. really hit or miss when you go here. Just moved to Chicago and found an apartment in the west loop. Going to check out all the bars in this neighborhood and this one will be a solid choice if no where else is open/too busy!

Came here a few times in the past and the food was very decent. Now, no fish on the menu, less than average bar food. The staff is nice enough and lots of TV to follow sports makes it a good local dive. but the change in menu was a real disappointment. I can’t recommend but suggest you give it a try.

I can’t believe anyone would eat here. It stinks like bathroom disinfectant even with the windows open. My friends got some pitchers. They seemed pleased with the price point. Cheap beer… if that’s all you’re looking for…

WOW! We were here for GREEKFEST and the food was AMAZING! The lines were down the block all day and night. We had the most succulent lamb chops. They were tender, and delicious. They were made on an open charcoal grill. My husband told me his father, who was from Greece, made them the same way.(special charcoal) Everyone that I spoke with,(I love to talk) said it was the BESTFOODATGREEKFEST! I also love many dishes at Spectrum. My whole family loves the Pork Kebobs, they have Greek seasonings, and I put lots of lemon on them. The Greek Salad and Greek fries are the bomb, such delicious Feta cheese. The owner Andreas makes these Special Meatballs. They are off the charts. They only make them on the island he came from, so you won’t get them anywhere else. You have to try them. Thinking about the food makes me want to go there as soon as possible. Spectrum is all about the food and drinks, and my Family loves it!

This place could use a makeover something fierce, and plays the worst music known to man, but I’m pleasantly surprised by my first visit. The food was damn decent. Good $ 1 tacos and $ 2 beer held up to a $ 12.00 tacos place down the street. Nice bartender, open air front is great. Now I LOVE a good horseshoe bar, But someone please call Bar Rescue and get them makeover.

My husband came here two nights in a row while on a work trip, and I joined him here the second night. It’s sort of a divey sports bar and seems like a fun local hang out. They have a full menu of food, which is better than typical bar food. The staff was hard working and friendly, and even gave my husband a free shot when he said he was new in town. They had the Blackhawks game on all the TVs when I was there, and we ordered Greek pizza and Greek fries(when in Greektown…) which were good. I’d recommend it for a chill place to watch a game and get decent food.

I am happy that I found this place that’s so close to my house that stays open till 4am and serves food. It’s your typical bar joint. Don’t expect any fancy music or environment. You make your own fun here. They have a mixed crowd, and most people are really chill.

Want to hang out with some of the most pretentious people you will ever meet and not get waited on? This is the place for you! I was looking for a nice place to hang out and have a cold beer but ended up seeing some a side of people that I didn’t know existed. All of this occurred while being ignored by the bartenders over and over and over. The place wasn’t that busy either. GOELSEWHERE!

Ended up here at about 2:30am on the 4th of July. I had no idea that this place existed. There was a live Blues band and they rocked! I can’t wait to come back.

Husband and I always end up here for some late night grub. The food is amazing for the price– some of the best greek food I’ve had in greek town. The souvlaki and halloumi are our favorites. They have live blues too late night on the weekends and this place gets packed!

Walked in here and the place was completely empty. The waiters seemed to have a problem that we walked in. The fries and feta were good. The cocktails were ok.

Besides the slow wait for food, it wasn’t off putting at all… until I got my check. For a small bar, you’d think they would ATLEAST have table numbers, or a solid memory for the 4 people in the bar on a slow Monday afternoon, instead of labeling me as their ‘Asian’ customer on my receipt. Rude.

The following is written in a satirical fashion. Please read in the voice of an 80’s electronic store commercial, kinda like from Short Circuit II. Hey bluesman! Don’t want to hang out with college students atKingston Mines, and don’t want to pay a $ 20 cover to get it to any of the other north side blues bar around??? Well I have a place for you! Come on down to Spectrum Bar and Grill. NOCOVER! GREATBLUES! NODOUCHEBAGS(some weirdos, but they keep to themselves)! HURRYHURRYHURRY! PS — Tip the bluesman on the way out

Day-of-week seems to matter when Spectrum is deciding what level of service to provide patrons. From the bartenders, I’ve had friendly/solid service and, alternatively, brusque/inattentive service. I’ve been here twice and since I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt, I’ll give 3 stars now and let my next visit be the tiebreaker.

They get a late crowd due to the fact that they stay open until 4−5am. I arrived at approximately 1:30am, because I like to party. There were only a few people, but many others swarmed in shortly after. I enjoyed the fact that their kitchen seemingly stays open as late as the bar itself, so all the booze hounds can order something to grub on. I had a gyro plate with fries, and it wasn’t exceptional, but pretty good. I witnessed the live blues band, who only sang about the women who betrayed them. I can get on board with that! Which is rare because I seldom care for live music. I wasn’t too thrilled about the service, however. Particularly, the vacant responses we recieved whenever we asked for something. It was clear the bartenders/servers couldn’t give negative asses of rats about anything. Too much jerk face also. The beer selection was weak. Where is this cheap beer people keep talking about? I overheard some guy order a bottle of Miller Lite, and it was $ 5(WTF?). I would have been fine paying $ 5.50 for Blue Moon in 2006 when everybody thought was the best beer ever made, but those days are over. Not a place I’d want to spend an entire night, but for an after hours place, it’s still okay.
