4 stars for a dingy, hole in the wall? Yep, you are reading this correctly… **CASHONLY** We arrived to the city super late on a Monday night and were very hungry after traveling all day. I checked my trusty Unilocal app and couldn’t believe it when I saw that there was a 24 hour place about a block away! Now, they may be called«Mr. Gyros,» but this place is SO much more. They basically have anything and everything you could ever want to eat — burritos, hamburgers, pizza, philly steak sandwiches, etc. I had the gyro plate and it was delicious(and made to order!). The prices are very reasonable and we ended up eating their a 2nd time as well… Now, this is certainly no-frills — it’s a food counter with limited seating, but the staff was friendly and any place that’s 24 hours is ok in my book. I am legit surprised to see so many negative reviews — what the hell are you guys expecting? I was served a delicious, freshly made meal at a decent price(at 2AM!)…nothing to complain about.

Location by Clark and Division Well this is for the Hispanic lady in Mr.Gyros. I ordered or my lady ordered a 6 pieçe wings with fries with no salt on the fries or wings. Mild sauce only this call was made by phone. I was sitting next to her when she placed the my order with Hispanic lady on the phone. So, when I eat a few fries and yes it was(SALTONIT)! I informed the Hispanic lady that my Lady placed my order with no SALT on the fries or wings. Hispanic lady says no she didn’t. And I stated to the Hispanic lady I was sitting next to her when stated to you. The Hispanic says she only put salt on the fries and not the wings. Once again the Hispanic lady stated she only put salt on the fries and not the wings. So if my lady didn’t placed the order with no SALT on the fries or chicken. Why would you, Yes the Hispanic lady only put salt on the fries only and not the chicken? Hmmmmm-Doesn’t make sense does it? After the Hispanic lady with an sarcastic and always angry attitude stated that she only put salt on the fries not the chicken. She stares at me and I felt like I was going to get into a street fight, if I asked her to make another order for me. Yes, she has to be from the hard part of the(Hood). So, I asked for an refund and she gives my money back and says nothing. She didn’t say can she make another order for me. She didn’t apologize even though I was still nice to her and she still had an attitude like she doesn’t care because she going to get paid a check anyway if I buy the food or not. And not to brag, but I have been in customer service management industry for over 15 yrs. She has an attitude worse than cashiers in Walmart. Lol! But, it’s OK some people maybe having a bad day everyday. Smh;) I said to her it’s ok, she doesn’t have to be angry. And she still didn’t say anything. She just stares at me. Wow! (It felt like I was being served by an mean security guard in state prison). Following requirements to improving your attitude and customer service. 1.) Anger management classes will help improve her character and customer service. 2.) Remember customers are the ones that keeps Mr Gyros in business. 3.) Her angry and sarcastic attitude and character shows how she really is in life.(Scary) 4.) This is probably only business she can get away with bad customer service.(No write up) Smile.;) The guys who work there are great and there character shows that are business and customer service minded. (Meaning if they make an mistake they apologize and re– make another order for me and not give customers an attitude like they are uneducated and from the Hood.) I’m just saying!!! Smile;)

Best fries that I have ever had. Great staff – always quick and kind. This isn’t the kind of place you plan to visit, though you’re always happy it’s there when you need it.

Pretty cool place yet have the slowest service moving in the whole place, i don’t even know why, i can’t see any difference between the regular hours that has minimal costumers and the peak hours, slow slow slow service. Thought the food are way better than Mcdonalds or subways yet for me still not enough, most of the waiting too much makes me pissed off. Please Mr. Gyros do something about it.

This place is a good bang for your buck place. The food is good, cheap, and quick. Food: I’ve gotten the gyro as well as the philly cheesesteak. I would recommend the gyro. There is a buy one, get one free gyro deal everyday. Don’t be scared, the gyros are normal size. The gyro meat is very good and so are the condiments. In my opinion, they put too many onions on the gyro. You get a lot of fries when your order fries. I wish they would cook it just a tad longer though. Good for: quick, cheap, good food. Late night. It is open 24 hours. 3.5 stars

The gyros here hit the spot every time. Nothing fancy, just good fast food. Can’t go wrong

When in there for lunch the other week. They had a line out the door for this small place so gave it a shot. Fantastic!!! Although I must say, they don’t have it easy since the people don’t make it easy for them. The guy on taking a phone order was asking the same question to the other side of the phone. I could tell he was getting aggravated. Be nice and they’ll be nice. They know what they’re doing The food here is inexpensive, good, and fast, straight to the point. I haven’t been here at night yet, but so far, I’ve come for breakfast and lunch. The older man behind the grill works it the best. The younger man over there is very good looking I must add, and I see him there all the time. Gives your food the what you want it, sometimes even cooks it for you and you leave with a smile from him, what more can you ask! It looks like a family business and they handle it well. The whole crew there for everyone are all great. I recommend you try them out.

It’s easy to miss this place. It’s a hidden gym on division street. I can admit that it’s not easy on he eyes but the food and service makes up for that. The menu is a little confusing. They have the meals on one side of the wall but there’s another menu in the front. Take your time and look at all the options before making your decision. The prices are reasonable and the food comes out fast!

Didn’t try their gyros, but their French toasts for breakfast. They were very good for the price they were paid for. The people there were friendly and patient. And I got my order filled very quickly. The place is mainly for take-outs. There are no tables or chairs for you to eat in. If I’m in this area again, I’ll try their gyros. «Buy one get one free» sounds like a deal.

A fantastic cheap and quick gyro/hot dog/burger joint with fresh food and delicious fries– especially compared to pricier and/or mainstream restaurants on the same block. Will definitely return. Food: I ordered a cheeseburger w/fries. Overall the burger was pretty tasty, especially for the price, though they didn’t melt the cheese(my pet peeve with cheeseburgers). The fries were surprisingly impressive– thick cut, delicious, and served in a large portion. Environment: Has older décor which is to be expected in a dive like this. Standing tables with no chairs, but that’s fine because they’re fast and it’s expected. Service: Quick, very friendly– even helped an elderly woman order from outside because she didn’t want to go in. Provided me free tap water.

My fiancé and I ordered a chicken philly gyro meal with fries. The taste of the sandwich was pretty good but they barely give you any meat. They do give you a lot of fries. We also had a gyro which was nasty. pros: open 24⁄7 and they are friendly

I was walking around my new neighborhood(Gold Coast) and wanted a quick, inexpensive, bite for dinner. I didn’t want a chain fast food restaurant so I stopped at Mr. Gyros. The lady at the register was very receptive about offering me a recommendation on what she thought was the best menu item. And as any one could guess, she ordered the Gyro for me — what the store is named after. I also ordered fries. The fries were plentiful. Lots and lots for the price. Everything is made to order so they were piping hot and freshly salted. I loved them. The gyro… the GYRO! was SUPERB!!! the beef was shaven off that spinny thing, so it was super moist and fresh. The seasoning was excellent as well. It was NOT greasy which I also loved. On the gyro was tomato, lettuce, onion, and mayo. All wrapped in a fresh piece of pita. Literally the mergence of all of these flavors created an orgasmic experience in my mouth. The portion size was HUGE too. I only spent $ 9 and a little tax for a complete meal. And I got so much food. For about a 15 minute wait, I got the best«fast food» I have yet to have in Chicago. Please go! The only thing I didn’t like was there is no seating so I had to walk and eat. Super awkward.

Great tacos, on the spicy side, but the steak wasn’t fatty and the veggies are fresh! I would eat here again anytime.

Not sure it would pass a visit from a health inspector, and there is probably at least one drug deal occurring within 50 feet of the door at any given time. But if you are drunk and leaving one of the(awful) bars on Division St., stop in and grab some greasy drunk munchies. The fries are fantastic.

Food was cheap, tasty and fast, for a 24hr place given how late at night I go. Varied menu hell it takes up like three wall. The staff even is nice enough to give you one of the specials if you failed to notice it. 1 star off — Never managed to enjoy a full meal there, the other customers tend to be less than savory. Also not the nicest area for real late nights.

Had the burger and brownie. Both were fantastic, burger had lots of thick raw onions which I Love! Soda was flat and watered down and fries were soggy and too thick. All in all it was a good price for what I got and I was satisfied. If you want better quality food you pay for it.

Just to get it all out of the way, this place is a dump. But if you’re one of those types who can get past the lack of décor, clean floors, working heat and a general sense of safety on all levels, this place is pretty neat. I only had the 2-for-1 gyros deal, which clocks in at 7.99 plus tax and is a gluttonous affair for a solo eater. Would be pretty sweet for someone who burned some«happy herbals» and needed to cure the burn. In that regard, Mr. Gyros is great for that. That said, I wouldn’t go back. There’s better spots in Greektown but this was near my hotel so I went for it.

Prices are good just don’t expect a chair. There is an area, however, to stand and eat so you won’t be left high and dry(although dry would be nice on a wet day like this). Side Note: there is one goooood looking guy working that grill, he’s even got some of that ‘tough boy’ Chicago attitude which totally works on him but was still friendly with a smile at the same time. Any takers ladies? Two Chicago hotdogs Large fries Small drink For a little over $ 7.(Sweet)
