Honestly was extremely disappointed with the Caesar. It was insultingly small, with almost no dressing. My friend got the lobster and crab quesadilla and it probably contained less than 20 calories it was so small. Fish tacos and burgers were delicious. Sizes of plates were offensive.

Came here twice during our stay. The salads are great serving sizes. Had the fig & prosciutto pizzette. Wasn’t as described on the menu — the prosciutto was fried as opposed to in its sliced form as anticipated. Overload of arugula on top. Get some extra fig spread on the side because there’s definitely not enough. The Brie on it added the perfect balance with the fig flavor. Also had the pesto and mushroom pizzette with fresh ricotta. Amazing. The carbonara, while a huge serving, was tasteless and bland. The special of lobster raviolis is described as being in a vodka sauce but it was definitely more like an Alfredo. They were delicious, but the inside of the raviolis was dry, they should have added some mozzarella or ricotta to the lobster. Salmon was overcooked.

my wife and I have a house in Chatham so this is one of our«go to» spots for lunch… Which is always good. The 4 star rating is for the consistent terrific service we receive, and the good lunches we have always had; however this is the second time we’ve had dinner, and it was not good and should really get more like a 2 or a 3 star rating. It started with a Sam Summer ale in a warm glass with cold beer… So after a short time my beer was room temperature… Not good! Our waitress Elaina is super sweet and was«in the weeds» or I would’ve complained more on this evening. I started with the Cape Codder salad — they used to much fennel in the salads and it had an overwhelming taste of licorice. And then had the cod, which was baked with the typical Ritz cracker crumb topping, a beurre blanc sauce that tasted of citrus(but was cold), a couple of veggie sides — overall just not worth the $ 27.95. What really surprised me was my wife’s lobster roll — that came on a hot buttered roll, lots of fries… but the lobster was frozen. We are in Chatham A stones throw from the fish pier and were eating frozen seafood? Totally unacceptable quality! If the waitress wasn’t so nice I would’ve absolutely sent the lobster back and refused to pay for it. My wife seemed to like it, but to me it was one of, if not the worst lobster roll I’ve ever tried. I’ll keep coming back for lunch, but this was the last time for dinner. Long waits and subpar food… not worth it!

They do try. And the service is wonderful. The food, however, is hit or miss. The overcooked swordfish served on a goopy bed of beans and mayonnaise was ghastly.

Always a fabulous experience. Food is consistent, wait staff is always friendly. The best value in Chatham for the high level of food quality. By no means is it a typical Cape«tourist trap.» Favorite item on menu are the fish tacos!

I’ve been going here forever. The food is great! There is usually a good amount of seats, but get a reservation in the summer. Get the goose fries and the crème brûlée!

Pros: Nice room(good light). friendly, attentive waitress. Quiche du jour was creative and delicious. Solid chowder with good consistency and flavor. Buttered goose was tasty. Cons: no place to change a baby(had to change babe on the floor…), and quesadilla was subpar(tortilla was weird and cheese was wrong).

One of my favorite lunch spots! Love their chicken burger. My husband always enjoys the club sandwich. The fries are very good. Open year round.

Lunch outside in mid-December in Chatham. Awesome! That aside, our food was excellent. I don’t think you’ll go wrong here. 1) Swiss burger well done with fries for me. 2) Brie apple bacon on a croissant with home made potato chips for my wife. The fries were perfect, but the potato chips were even better. Really nice atmosphere. The staff was friendly including our waiter. Although the service was a bit on the slow side. We’d definitely go back.

Wanted to sit along Main Street on a summer night and take everything in with some refreshment, and this place was the clear spot in Chatham to do so if you want to be waited on(versus sitting on a bench). The drinks were good(2 beers and a mixed drink); the food solid(raw bar items and truffle fries), and our waitress friendly and attentive. You couldn’t sit outside though without ordering food, which was a minor downside for us. Also, the bartender when we first got there seemed a little indifferent to us, which at first made me feel taken aback but everything else was good!

Stopped in here for dinner while staying in Brewster for work. Sat at the bar and got the lobster roll and subbed the fries out for asparagus. With a diet coke and tip, total bill was $ 36. I was surprised how much lobster was on the roll, that alone made it worth the price! Bar tender was great, didn’t rush my but had my check ready when I asked.

We tried this our first night and the food was awful. We got a special that was some sort of surf and turf and everything was dry and flavorless. Thought maybe we just ordered wrong, so came back for lunch later in the week but the food was equally bad. Not many other options on the main drag but we will definitely never come back here

Wasn’t that busy yet the waitress took way too long to take our orders, serve out drinks/meals and get us the bill. I feel like the meals lacked the protein component in both the fish tacos and lobster/crab quesadilla my SO received. Price did not match quality nor portions. Pluses to include cleanliness, location and very friendly.

It’s really a toss up between 3 or 4 stars. Our waitress was friendly and very pleasant, but unfortunately not very good. We had a number of problems with service that were easy enough to get past, but took away from the overall experience. Food was solid and we were glad we ordered some goose fries. We had a party or 8 and they were able to sit us relatively quickly for a late lunch on a very busy weekend in Chatham(Art Festival). A/C on a hot muggy Saturday afternoon was a treat for all. It was just adults I think we would have taken and really enjoyed the outdoor seating!

So so. We were seated in the small front room and it was super loud. The acoustics are awful in there. Our waiter was mediocre at best. The food was good but not great. It was also Chatham expensive. Weak beer list too. The clam chowder was excellent.

I ordered the shrimp and grits– excellent however a small portion. 5 shrimp and maybe ½ cup of grits. Not enough to justify the $ 26.00 price even though it was good. My wife had a simple baked scrod over mashed. it was served with 5 or 6 asparagus stalks. The cod actually had a piece of paper between the fish and the potatoes. She told the waiter who apologized but did nothing else. She should have sent it back but she is not like that. For such a supposedly good restaurant I cannot help but wonder what is would take to have the waiter get the manager. In NO hurry to go back.

Delicious food and a great view. I had the tuna salad sandwich and my husband had the clam chowder. All very fresh and quick, wonderful service on top of that.

Descent spot to stop while shopping in Chatham. I believe the tavern is part of an inn, and it definitely has the feel of a hotel bar. Not bad, but not great either. Older crowd. Dated carpet. Friendly staff. My husband and I stopped here during a rain storm for a couple drinks. We ordered Goose Fries, which are topped with melted Gouda, scallions and bacon(we skipped the bacon). Great vacation food. Probably would not get a meal here but it did meet our needs and exceed expectations of a hotel bar. Bartender(Carlton? C– something…) was a super nice and knowledgeable.

So on our way back from P-Town we were craving lunch and stumbled upon this gem. People trashing it, it says something about their taste. We walked in there with no expectations and wow! Service: amazing. Seated in a good table, our server was kind, friendly and diligent. He actually recommended a choice that wasn’t the higher price of the two because he said it was amazing, it was. Drinks: amazing brunchy drinks and Irish coffee. Food phenomal, big portions. I got the macaroni and cheese because I needed a carb and cheese and it was the best ever. I also had 75% left at the end. Everyone was so thrilled. Go here.

This past weekend I was in Cape Cod for the holiday weekend. First time there, and a short stay, but was able to squeeze in some delicious food at Wild Goose Tavern in Chatham. Set in a classic, beach meets yacht aesthetic, this casual restaurant serves fresh, local seafood and American fare. To start, I ordered a Margarita. I know, it doesn’t scream Cape Cod, but, hey, I wanted one. It was light and refreshing, no complaints here. Then, for the table to start, we had the Smoked Bluefish(smoked in-house, horseradish cream, crackers). This was really great. The fish had a light, flaky and meaty texture with a perfectly balanced smoked flavor. Paired with the creaminess and slight bite of the horseradish cream, and the saltiness and crunch of the crackers, it was a great combination for an excellent starter. For my entrée I ordered one of their specials that night, the Swordfish(grilled Atlantic Swordfish, kalamata olive mashed potatoes, asparagus, roasted tomato, red wine jus). This was an incredible dish. The portion was perfect and the entire meal was flavorful and well balanced. The fish was perfectly cooked, giving it just the right texture, and rich in flavor from the jus. The potatoes were creamy and buttery, and the olives, similar to a tapenade, added a nice saltiness to counteract the richness of the potatoes. Then, for some fresh crispness, the asparagus was just the right touch, and a bit of added acidity from the tomatoes balanced out the dish very nicely. And then, dessert was a must. Now, I didn’t order the dessert, and couldn’t find it on their menu afterward, so, I can’t say with 100% certainty what it was. But, I will say that it was ridiculously good. It was almost like a warm, rich, cookie pie served with vanilla ice cream. So, dessert, whatever you were, you were delicious and I loved you.
