tiny mom and pop, closes at 5. All the foods I have tried here have been fantastic. Great place to grab a quick lunch or take out for your crews, as the prices are hard to beat. Quality and prices are incredible. I like the open kitchen where you see the food prepared, it is comforting. Could use a coat of paint, but not going here for the ambience. The name has it right, SUPERTACOS.

Super Taco is a taco dive built into the side of a Mexican market on Ramon road and I have been meaning to try it for a few years, but never have until now. The«A» health inspection placard is prominently placed in the front window, but when you step into the room, you are instantly transported to a small taco shack in Mexico. It is not the cleanest taco shop in the valley and the room has no ambiance but you instantly smell grilled meats and chillies when you step in the door. The scent of good food draws you in. The menu is limited and it has a few very well priced items. The meat selection varies based on availability so the friendly man at the counter will tell you what they have when you step in the door. The sample consisted of carne asada, carnitas, lengua and an al pastor that was more of a pork adobada. The tacos were assembled with two fresh yellow corn tortillas per taco. The tortillas were not street taco sized, they were fairly large tortillas. The tortillas had great flavor but were not made in house. The tacos were very generously filled for the asking price of $ 1.69 each. Actually they were probably overfilled. It was impossible to eat the tacos without making an absolute mess. The proportion of cilantro and onions was just right for the amount of meat in each taco. The salsa bar had a fresh pico de gallo, a smokey charred pepper salsa that was medium hot and a jalapeño/tomato salsa that had a fresh garlicky flavor and was also a medium hot spice level. They also included pickled jalapenos, carrots and onions, as well as radish and lemon. The favorite of the bunch was the carnitas taco. The pork was perfectly seasoned with wonderful flavor and was perfectly tender with no major bites of gristle or fat. Next was the carne asada. Nice and tender with a great char grilled flavor and no gristle. The carne was perfectly seasoned and was not overly salty like many carne asada’s are. The Al pastor /adobada was next in our ranking, but it really was almost too charred. it overpowered the delicate flavor of the pork. Last up was the lengua which was dripping wet and made a mess of the tortillas, the plate and my hands. The meat was super tender and the seasoning was great but the game flavor was stronger than many of the lengua options served at other taquerias. Overall, I would definitely stop here again, especially if I was on a tight budget as this is serious cheap eats, but I would not go out of my way to have a taco here with so many other great options closer to me.

This place defines«hole in a wall,» since it’s tucked around the corner from a little market, but the carne asada tacos were big, tasty and only $ 1.69 apiece.
