I’m saddened to know this place is closed. I actually intended on coming here this year again in order to enjoy what I had once enjoyed before. I came here a year or so ago with my fiancé and were surprised at the price of the food and the size of the plates. I had the cheeseburger and my lady had the jalepeno. WoW. We were pleasantly surprised with the taste. Unlike Dumont, where you have to pay seperate prices for the burger, it size and the sides, Williamsburger allows you to have sides with the order in one price. Also, the size of the burger is enormous. It was great to eat something like this. It was an experience. I wish they didnt close.

Was expecting a lot from a burger joint in Williamsburg called ‘Williamsburger’ and was slightly disappointed. The burger was good and as ordered but nothing out of the ordinary. Staff were pleasant and attentive but the premises was surprising quiet for a Friday afternoon. Good menu and drinks selection with reasonable prices. Overall decent but nothing special on offer here.

Had the Williamsburger here and it was good, but that’s all the praise I can give it — not ‘very good’, not ‘great’, just good. The onion rings were very nice, but BBQ sauce, cheese and the burger itself was very standard. The price includes fries(which were nice) and all in all it is good value for money. In short, the décor, staff and the menu are all ok but there is nothing about this restaurant that would make you go there besides the loud name, and that gimmick only works once.

I had the Williamburger. Was delicious. It had onion rings and bbq sauce. Plus a nice tall glass of blue moon. My wife had the basic burger topped with caramrlized onions. Also good. I enjoyed there fries. Very good spot for a burger

The California burger was amazing although they charge extra for substituting fries for a side salad and I thought that was ridiculous. I also thought it was stupid that there weren’t free refils for my diet Pepsi. Food is great but they need to not be charging extra for stupid things.

Good burger. Very good fried pickle spears. Decent service but the place was empty. I would return.

I heard some bad reviews on this place… So I avoided coming for a while… But I shouldn’t have. It was a solid burger and fries. Very juicy burger– finally a place with a reasonable price burger that isn’t over cooked and dry. This is one of those burgers that by the end the bottom of the bun is pretty wet… I’m a fan on that. A nice soft bun and juicy burger. Good deal. 13.07 for my burger and fries. Plus they have drink specials. Got a cider for $ 4. I would give it a 4.5 out of 5… Good burger for the value. Obviously I’m reserving the five stars for burgers from places like Luger and Zaitzeff.

Just meh. Came here on a rainy Saturday afternoon with some friends for a bite to eat. The place was pretty much empty but despite that fact, the service was very slow. I had the chili cheeseburger which I thought was underwhelming in flavor and my burger was overcooked. Fries were fine but nothing to write home about. Unfortunately for the price($ 14) and the taste, I will not be coming back.

I came to this place as it was recommended by a friend of mine who happens to be a New Yorker born and raised. He said«WilliamsBurger» had the greatest burgers n the area, so I gave it a shot. My conclusion is the following: * The hamburger wasn’t that great. It was okay, but not great. I don’t see why it would be the«best in the area» * Staff is friendly but rather slow for my standards. * Good collection of beer. * Prices are rather high. * But here is the thing: the Mac N Cheese is AMAZING. I just took it as an appetizer, but really, best Mac N Cheese I ever had. If you come to this place, skip the burger and try their Mac N Cheese, you won’t be disappointed. All in all 3 stars.

good spot to kill time and have a quick burger =) hands down they have the best fries, i always get their parmesan garlic fries an even tho i may have to worry about my breath afterwards it is soooooo worth it! They are so good! I ordered a burger called the williamsburger … so being that it was the burger actually named after the joint i would think the burger was amazing! Now it was, but i originally ordered it medium and it came out basically RAW =/… so i sent it back an asked for it well done. but besides that after the fix up it was really good. The mac an cheese is killer !! so good gotta try it. as far as drinks, pomegranate margaritas are very good! do not get a long island ice tea! its basically jus soda. dont think the bartender knows its jus a splash of soda. overall the food was good i would go back

*** UPDATED — MAY, 2010 Blah. Just came back from a quick«bite» there tonight. I had spoken to the owner about what I felt was a silly new rule they have(I won’t mention what). he went on and on in this patronizing tone about why the rule was enacted, while forgetting that I was a paying customer. Afterwords, my waitress then coped a slight attitude, as if I had offended someone by asking a simple policy question. I think I’ve finally figured this out. The owner just simply is not a people-person. Maybe he thinks he’s the soup Nazi of burgers? I couldn’t say. What I can say, is that I’ve had it with this place. if your only goal is food to put into your stomach to satisfy hunger, then by all means, go here. But if you expect ANY sort of customer service, or consideration that you are a customer, then AVOIDTHISPLACE. — Previous review: — «Even» I go to this place a bit as it’s so convenient. FOOD: I found the burgers generally decent, and the best part about the place. They’re a little messy and cramped in the picnic-y little plastic baskets they’re served in(which ends-up creating a lot of unnecessary garbage). I like that they’ve added to their menu quite a bit. And back in early January, I came often for lunch, and had a few decent soups. ATMOSPHERE: This is where Williamsburger needs the most help. They still can’t seem to shake off the ghost of restaurants past — «Fire and Ice,» a corny sports bar that occupied the same location previously. The new curtains are nice, but the loud rock and roll, and large TV — always tuned to sports — makes you feel you were somehow transported to a sports bar in New Jersey. The owner also keeps it a bit chilly too. SERVICE: I’ve only ever eaten there, having never ordered for a pick-up or delivery. The service has been even and pleasant. The owner is there often, and he seems like a nice guy, though If he were a little more extroverted, people might like the place better.

Was very apprehensive about dining at this spot because of all the negative reviews, but it was a short walk from where my family and I were hanging out and I knew my young’uns where starving. Apprehension turned into leeriness when I saw only one employee working behind the bar; there were only two tables being used inside and one outside, so we hoped for the best. We chose outside seating, I ordered the Asian Chicken Burger*, the hubby had the California*; Chicken Fingers* and Mac and Cheese* for our little ones. The chili garlic mayo and ginger slices on my burger made it uniquely good, though it wasn’t topped with scallions as per the description. The California was enjoyed by the hubby and I, but I am quite the sucker for any burger topped with fried egg. Mac and cheese was nice and gooey and the chicken fingers passed the«take-home left over test,» meaning — it didn’t turn into planks of chicken flavored cardboard when we ate it at home several hours later; it stayed crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, which was a nice surprise; I could say the same for the fries. The solitary employee took our order and delivered our food without a long wait; he was not amazingly friendly, but he wasn’t nasty and rude either(whew!). Again, there is the relevancy of the place being less than half capacity full. Maybe it was my low expectations, but I would go back and try this place again for the food, meant to order the sweet potato fries(slipped my mind). However, staff/diner ratio would be a factor in my decision to dine here, which should never be a Unilocaler’s concern. photo*
