Grand Ferry Tavern NYBK North Williamsburg 7pm Thursday 28th January 2016 Four Stars Located on Kent and Grand, just off the water, the Grand Ferry Tavern is a throwback bar with a hipster population. Everybody is wearing a beanie inside and has a beard with half of the population wearing glasses. The long L shaped Bar seats 15 with some scattered standing room and restaurant atmosphere in the back. I used my whiskey passport to get their signature Manhattan #2308 which features their own single barrel 101 Proof whiskey. They also had a $ 5 Oyster upgrade to sample their four types of oysters. It came the classic accoutrements of cocktail sauce, minette, and malt vinegar. The oysters were from Massachusetts and a Rhode Island. Overall it was a fun bar.

the menu, food, and drinks are fantastic and the staff are so friendly! The most charming atmosphere. If you’re hungry, I suggest ordering a few sides with your main course. shockingly never seems to be too crowded– the perfect place to bring a group of friends or for a date night.

This place is never filled, but should be. I’ll never understand why a place that so consistently delivers great food and great cocktails can be so overlooked. If you’re reading this and have never been, do yourself a favor and go immediately. Even in a neighborhood overflowing with great places to eat and drink, this one stands above the fray.

I really hope people start giving this place the business it deserves because I think it’s fantastic yet is located in a bit of a low foot traffic part of Williamsburg. The owner is a friendly young guy who also runs The Richardson and judging by my three trips here is clearly someone who knows what he’s doing vis a vis the customer dining experience. The drinks are top notch, oysters delicious, and service very friendly(albeit a tad slow sometimes but you don’t mind because this is one of those places you feel like savoring for a bit). But the main selling point for me is their clam chowder. It is an absolute knockout. Grand slam. Never had a chowder like it. Ever. Worth price of admission by its lonesome self. I’m running out of cliches. Go here and eat it!

My bartender Dave was a total champ. He spent some time teaching me about various kinds or rum and made me the perfect Gibson. They apparently make their own cocktail onions in house and are the best I’ve ever had. He recommended a brisket sandwich and I’m dying. Perfection! Cocktails on tap. Fuck! Can I just live here?

Emily, the bartender on Tuesday, made a superb Aviation and excellent conversation, proving that one can be serious about cocktails and still have a sense of humor. I’m looking forward to returning.

Came for happy hour oysters, but will come back again for that blue cheese fondue. Seriously, it’s so good. Service could have been better, there was one dude working both the inside and the patio, so we felt very low priority.

I came in on a Wednesday evening for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the ½ bottles of wine Wednesdays special. The barman helped us pick out a lovely Beaujolais that paired perfectly with the fantastic vegetable shepherd’s pie. The cheese plate appetizer with honey and warm bread was well composed. The ambiance is charming and the perfect setting for a weeknight dinner date. We found our new Wednesday go-to place! Looking forward to exploring the extensive brown liquor menu!

We came in on a Tuesday night and it wasn’t busy. Emily took excellent care of us, making good drink recommendations. She was very friendly and knowledgable. We had the fresh oyster sampler, 3 of each variety they had that day. They were all very tasty and fresh. The restaurant itself is elegant and the bar is pretty big. There is also a nice little outdoor patio. We would go back for the cocktail list, food items, service, and ambiance.

The best. The best cocktails. The best food. The best bartenders. We moved to LA this year and I get homesick for the burger and the negroni at least once a week. Mat and Sarah miss you, Joel!

As regulars of the Richardson we decided to try this place and it is as nice as it’s cousin, maybe even nicer. They also offer a full menu unlike the Richardson and a similar beer and wine selection and of course well made cocktails.

Dinner this evening at Grand Ferry Tavern and as usual such a wonderful experience. My waiter was so polite and knowledgable it made me remember what excellent service really is. After a very long work week it was my pleasure to dine at Grand Ferry and have such a delicious meal and lovely ambiance.

My husband works across the street from here, and we’ve become such regulars that I had to write a review. The service here is amazing. All of the bartenders are extremely skilled, and will bend over backwards to make you happy. We’ve tried almost everything, and we have always enjoyed every meal. I don’t eat oysters, but have heard great things from others. The menus(food and cocktail) are always changing, so it gives you a good reason to keep coming back!

Oyster Happy Hour is one of the greatest inventions ever. I have also had the fried oyster sandwich, which was really delicious. Good drink selection too.

Wonderful spot on the Kent Ave waterfront in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with a vibe much like it’s pier establishment the Richardson. With an impressive cocktail and beer selection, very friendly and accommodating staff and vintage décor it is a great place to relax and catch up on conversations with friends. Certainly worth the short walk from the Bedford L.

Great old school vibe. I can see Boardwalk Empire filmed here. Extensive Whiskey menu as well as mixed drinks. We did not eat so I can not comment on that.

The server was very nice but slow. We had ordered burger with no cheese and 25 mins later we got one with cheese. They insisted on making us another one if we wait 25 minutes longer but we just ate fries instead. The server said we would get 4 delicious oysters and instead we gotThree salty oysters for 12 $. I am disappointed in this place. I gave this place two stars because they didn’t charge us for the burger and the fries were good.
