Totally delicious! And baby friendly at 9am on a weekday. Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, fruit, and pancakes. Try side orders because portions are plentiful! The only coffee served is French press, but it was very good, so no complaints. Looking forward to next time.

Adding butter on top of fried egg is not a «nice touch», it ruined it. The eggs comes from local farms? Let it shine. You only cover up bad eggs with that kind of stuff. The grits were terribly bland. Totally skip it. The ham biscuit was more like prosciutto so you’ll have 3x the recommended salt intake from that.

Service was excellent. We had the Biscuit and ham with fig jam + egg and also the pancakes. The pancakes were typical, but the biscuit was outstanding. Definitely worth the $ 2 for the upgrade to cheese grits.

Clean crisp atmosphere, comfortable noise level with background music. French toast, caramelized grapefruit with mint, hen eggs, bacon and ultrathin pancakes. Everything was good.

We don’t go during main brunch hours, we know better! We’ll always go before the large groups come and we always get good service. If you go during a weekday it’s great as well, really easy to get a seat. Love the vibe and décor. Clean, a bit of industrial and woodsy. Food is amazing!!! The biscuits and gravy are so so good! A bit on the spicy side but I love that. It is very hearty so make sure you have room for it. Love the grits, quality of the pork sausage and perfectly cooked eggs! Love that water is already out on every table. They even provide crayons for every table for the kids and A.d.d. people out there(like my husband)! French press coffee and cream is a really good cup of joe. End of the day Egg is a solid neighborhood staple. So glad it’s available to the community and hope It stays for years to come!

Cute place in Williamsburg. Came here for Sunday brunch and it was fairly packed. It’s got good vibe and good food :) We had the egg rothko, pancakes, side order of scramble eggs and hashbrowns. It was a delightful morning catching up with my girl and drawing on the table cloth with some crayons :)

It seemed to be very popular by local people. I visited during the weekday after lunch hrs but people kept coming. It looked like an urban café but they serve pretty good foods and drinks there. I did not eggs but the kale soup which came with a corn bread. The corn bread was good! Glass wine was decent as well.

We ordered the Biscuits and Gravy which comes w/mushrooms or pork sausage. My brother is a vegetarian and truly enjoyed this meal. I ordered the Grafton Cheddar Omelette w/broiled tomatoes and added a side of col. Bill Newsom’s country ham for $ 5. The ham was very nice, it seemed a bit prosciutto like. The tomatoes didn’t seem broiled, I could have done without. The hashbrowns were delicious! We also had the 2 Eggs any style(perfectly over medium) comes w/toast and hashbrowns and added homemade pork sausage for $ 4. The only downer was the service. Our server did not seem to want to be there. She didn’t introduce herself and never came back to ask how our meal was coming along. We had to flag her down to order a second coffee and second mimosa.

Egg NY Manhattan Williamsburg North Side 7pm Tuesday 22nd March 2016 Four Stars Gastronauts Elk dinner for their 10th anniversary. Course 1: The Elk Tartare was best that I have had in a long time. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender which balanced with the taste of onion and sea salt. The texture paired delightfully agains the crispy crostini and a root chip. Course 2: The elk and duck liver pâté was equally delicious. The elk gave an intriguing«foot funk» but the duck gave the traditional creamy elegance. The mushroom gave a chewy contrast to both the toast point and the mousse. Course 3: The Elk Tongue was most inventive dish. The appendage was fried crispy and had a Pastrami seasoning. It was«served with its diet» meaning the foliage that a deer would consume. Course 4: Elk Ragu with Pappardelle pasta. The pasta was al dente. The meat was fatty, salty, and filled with flavor. My only complaint is that I wish that there was more. Course 5: The Elk Steak was seared with bright red center. They left a piece of fat on it which made all the difference for me. It was tender, moist, and packed with interesting nuanced flavors. The Parsnip Tater Tot was a bit sweet and less crunchy than its potato cousin but was overall tasty. The Pistachio purée had a nice creaminess to the dish. Course 6: Farro Ice Cream with Orange Zest. It was basically vanilla with some puffed cereal and hint of orange flavoring. Good but nothing special. The service was out-of-this-world good. The staff greeted me upon entry, offered me a drink before sitting, tray passed appetizer with a systematic precision, offered a choice of Cote du Rhone or Reisling before the meal, served and bussed plates attentively, refilled wine and water without prompt, and were overall friendly. I will have to come back here for Brunch.

Came here for brunch this morning and was really disappointed. My boyfriend is from the South and we were searching for a local spot to satisfy his country ham craving. Based upon Unilocal reviews, Egg should have had everything we wanted and more. However, they were fresh out of their complimentary donut holes at 12:30pm, the chai tea was weak, the cheese grits lacked flavor and texture, and the country ham on biscuits tasted more like chewy prosciutto. The only positives from our visit were the fact that we were seated within 15 minutes of arriving, how nice the servers were, and the bright décor of the restaurant.

I have wanted to go here forever but won’t wait on long lines. So happy by serendipity Walked by at 3:30& went for late brunch. Would possibly give it 5 if they were more attentive at the door z yes it’s totally hipster as the others say. Who cares it’s Williamsburg, everything is. It’s a big bright space with high ceilings not too loud. We got a great seat in the back room. A lot of the menu options had one item added that seemed odd to me. This is after all Egg. I’ve heard the best simple egg dishes. And biscuits! Which surprisingly wasn’t included in many dishes. So I created my own, the most simple request of soft scrambled egg bacon & cheddar on a biscuit. The waiter was very happy to do it and was attentive . And it was PERFECT. It is not the same as any diner as someone suggested. Please show me that diner. Unfortunately, unless I could make a reservation or come at an odd hour it’s unlikely I’ll get back here soon . But it lived up to the hype for the perfect Eggs.

I really can not comprehend some of these negative reviews. I have always enjoyed my breakfast here. It is sort of my once a month treat for myself, seeing as I have to come from Bayside Queens. The one thing I will agree on, is the not so nice waitress at the bar. I don’t know her name but she is a female W/late 20’s, a little on the heavy side. She really was not friendly at all and for some reason seemed even less friendly as I requested the bill. Other than that, it’s still my favorite spot.

Went here the day of the NYC marathon for brunch, so my friends & I were lucky to get a table without having to wait very long. All of the food was delicious and the portions were huge. Standouts were the Eggs Rothko and French Toast. This place is really solid if you’re looking for classic brunch staples and has a charming and cozy atmosphere. Stop by if you’re in the area and lucky enough to get in without having to wait a long time!

This place always has crazy long waits for brunch, which is why I hadn’t bothered to go until a blizzard struck and no one was out. No issues at all with the service(perhaps because hardly anyone was there), but the food was poor to average, I would say. My boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy, which tasted as if someone had dumped an entire container of pepper into it. Also, despite being slathered in gravy, the biscuits were incredibly dry. I ordered the 2 eggs any style(scrambled in my case) with toast and hash browns. They do say on the menu that they soft scramble their eggs, but even with that warning, I thought mine were too runny. The toast was OK, although one slice was sort of burned. The hash browns were unremarkable. Honestly the best thing I had was the orange juice. In addition, I feel compelled to note that the music they were playing was seriously some of the worst music we’d ever heard – terrible ambient crap with ridiculous vocal wailings that sounded like a combination of whale songs and someone yelling«yoo-hoo!!» over and over again. Pretty much all we talked about during the meal was how godawful the music was. There are far better brunch options in the neighborhood with less annoying music. No need to come back here.

I came here on a holiday weekday. I wasn’t interested first because of all the bad reviews. But I was too cold to go anywhere too far. Surprisingly, the service wasn’t bad at all and the food was good. Just heads up, all the chicken sandwich stuff are only available after 1pm. I ordered the egg Rothko. It has brioche with egg inside and cheese on top. It’s crispy and melting. I love it. It comes with tomato, and a side of meat or kale. My friend got chorizo with toast, pickle, and egg with your choice. All the dishes are around $ 12. Only French press coffee is available, no latte. Anyway, it’s a good place to come if you are nearby, but def doesn’t worth a special trip or long hour wait.

Last Saturday I went to Egg for breakfast. Those doughnuts at the start of the meal set the tone. I had the eggs, hashbrown and bacon. My boyfriend had the pancakes and sausage. My meal was delicious ! I could’ve done without the french press coffee but that could be my pickiness coming out. Either way I’ll be back next week!

Slowest service I have ever had in NY. The help is rude and to call the food subpar would be generous. Furthermore, the door man is a sourpuss. The biscuit(s) and gravy is just one biscuit, I figured biscuits being plural implied more than one. I would never come back here.

What’s the difference between going here or your local diner?!? Really not much except for the organic and locally sourced ingredients. Do they taste the same as your local diner… Yes! Are they cooked like your local diner… Yes! Do they cost the same as your local diner… No! We really wanted to try their duck hash and were sorely disappointed that it was not available on weekends. Instead we had the chorizo and eggs, chorizo was too salty for my taste but the eggs were cooked as requested. The candied bacon was excellent and french press coffee was satisfying other than those two items everything was just okay.

Popped in there at about 3pm on Wednesday on Dec 30th. It was busy but we got seated right away. Super friendly service, our waitress/manager was very excited about and proud of the quality of the food! We ordered two hamburgers with grass-fed beef and cheese. They were perfectly cooked, juicy and so so yummy! My only wish is for this place to get a gluten free alternative for the bun so I can enjoy the delicious pickles and roasted tomato with my hamburger. I had to eat it without the bun and it was still amazing! The organic cheese grits were just ok but I’m also not a big fan of grits in general. My bf liked it. They also have a great cider called Naked Flock. It is crisp and organic! And! They always serve their super delicious organic eggs all day long! Overall, it was a super pleasant brunch, we shall certainly come back!

Our experience was disappointing, to say the least. We came to Egg for brunch on a rainy Friday a few weeks ago. After being seated(the wait was about 10 minutes), the waitress gave us the menus, and disappeared for a while. My guess is that staff is trained to act pretentious and uninterested to complete the vibe of the restaurant. We ordered duck confit and eggs with bacon, which took forever and ever to come. At least we had the colorful chalk to express our frustration in drawing. When the food finally arrived, it was nonetheless delicious. Sadly, our eggs weren’t poached correctly. The portion can be nicely called«light» or if you’ve been waiting for thirty minutes — too tiny. The verdict — pricey, really small portions, not worth the wait.

Solid breakfast experience. Had the eggs and chorizo plate. Both were great and the chorizo had a delicious homemade pickled jalapeño sauce on it. The plate came with toast and tasty berry jam. The free beignets that arrived while we were waiting for our food was another plus. Will be back again to check out other options.

My experience at Egg was more than wonderful! My friend works there and it was a great surprise to see her as it was her off day. After waiting about 15 minutes, we were seated and my friend gave us an overview of the menu. She recommended we get the french toast with hash browns while I got the Rothko toast with tomatoes and kale on the side. The tables have white sheets on them and crayons on the table. You can draw and color while you wait for your order! I honestly felt like a kid again. Although it had too much cheese, my rothko toast was delicious! It was soft and had the right crunchiness on the crust! My only downside would be the excess in cheese and kale. I also ordered tea which came in a personal pot. The prices were OK, as our orders cost $ 12 each. Although they taylor the price to the amount you get. My friend asked for a half serving so she only payed half the price. Additionally, we received a friends and family discount and did not have to pay our beverages! Overall, I recommend you come here.

Three and a half? I suppose I’m holding back the last half star because it was soooo pretentious. I mean, I know we are in Williamsburg, but still, you don’t have to be that hipster ALL the time. I got the eggs with cheesy grits and kale which really were quite good. Eggs were well cooked(surprising that people can mess this up, but they do!). Grits were the best — well seasoned but not over salty. Kale not over cooked. The coffee was ok. For a $ 3 single cup French press I would have hoped for more, but it wasn’t bad. Pretty busy. Even on a Wednesday morning. So that’s a thing to know. Generally a clean and light atmosphere.

This place was the bomb. It is a little pricey but the food was really good and filling. The tomato soup special was a bit pricey but it was good even though the croutons were very soft, my preference is that they be hard but they seemed soaked in. Other than that they had great service and split the check for us even though we should’ve told them beforehand. I recommend getting the toast or the pancakes because those fill up the entire plate and your stomach.

Dommage…

Egg is designed beautifully. It’s all white with light wood. The seating area in the back is very roomy. There are booths along the sides and larger, bench-like seating in the middle(good for groups). I also appreciated the paper on the table with crayons to draw. Our waitress was very sweet and great. I’ve never had a mimosa with grapefruit juice, so that was lovely. I ordered the Organic Eggs & Grits with kale. The grits was so good! I liked how it had chunks of grits throughout. Might need more buter or salt though. We shared an order of pancakes. They were OK, not the best I’ve ever had, but the syrup was awesome! Overall, Egg is a great place to get some breakfast. There will always be a bit of a wait on the weekends, but I recommend trying it.

New space is huge, didn’t even have a wait! It has been very hyped up, but they deserve it. The staff is great, the décor is simple and inviting and the crayons on your table can’t be beat. The food is amazing, the HAMMMMMM you need that ham and the gritts are delish skip the veggies because so much other stuff is a musty try, you can make your own damn veggies! Also personal french press and fresh squeezed oj?! No you aren’t dreaming

It’s a perfect brunch spot. The restaurant is refreshingly open and spacious with a pleasant, minimalist ambiance. Expect a wait anytime between 11−1pm and don’t crowd the entrance area or else the hostess will scold you! My favorite thing about egg is that they cover the tables with white paper and provide crayons to doodle on it! I don’t care what anybody says; you’re never too old, cool, or hipster for coloring. It’s an unexpected and fun way to pass the time while you wait for your food. I had a mimosa, which I promptly knocked over not more than a minute after they brought it to me. They were nice enough to bring me a new glass and only charged me for one. My bf had a bloody mary. For food, we started with the caramelized grapefruit with mint, which was basically candy. As a main dish I got the hot ham and pimento sandwich(country ham and home-made pimento cheese grilled on baguette w/a salad), and my bf got the chicken cutlet sandwich(fried chicken breast with spicy cucumber relish, lettuce, and mayonnaise served on a roll w/a salad). Everything was delicious. We wiped our plates clean and left feeling happy, full, a little tipsy, and wholly satisfied.

Mixed feelings about this venerable Williamsburg establishment. During the week it is a locals gem. The service is attentive, the food comes promptly, you can taste the greens and know that the farm is not far away. On the weekends however, it’s like a Metronorth station on a holiday weekend. If you have to go, arrive early and be prepared for understandably disenchanted service. Hopefully the hash brown will cheer you up, or the grapefruit, or the babies in carriages. Take your pick. It’s an institution, so you have to submit.

From looks alone, egg is the perfect brunch spot for me. Lots of light, everything is painted white, the seating area is huge AND they give you crayons to draw for the inner child in us all. That being said there are things I love about egg and some major aspects that lessen the experience. The love: 1) Hashbrowns: a must! Perfect crispy outside and delicious and soft on the inside. I could eat a few of these golden, fried goodies everyday. 2) Service: wonderful, speedy and waitstaff always asks which condiments you prefer which is a huge plus for me because I need my hot sauce! 3) perfect for groups: so much space and nice communal table in the back seating area! 4) French press coffee!: Love that they bring you french press even for individual cups of coffee, makes for a fun brunch experience. The ehhh: 1) Food is just okay. They do seasonings really well and they do have some interesting things on the menu that are delicious(try the duck sandwich) but overall brunch food is done better in many other spots on the area. 2) The egg and chorizo sandwich: VERY misleading. This is basically a sloppy joe made with chorizo. Do not expect seeing an actual egg or sliced sausage. The taste is still quite good but totally not what I was expecting and good have done without all the messiness. — that being said, I still want to come back when I’m in the area because I love the spot and I’m willing to try more of the menu to see if some menu items are better than others.
