This is a special place. Dr. Jonah gives old-​world-​style service (effortlessly gracious, helpful, detailed, unhurried and expert) and the selection of glasses is chic and contemporary. After looking unsuccessfully for a few weeks for a new pair of glasses I found several I loved at Spectacles. This is the kind of place that makes me feel that NYC is still NYC– a mom and pop place with a real human being behind it with great service and a very fine selection of wares. A place where you feel that you are in excellent hands medically and aesthetically and personally. A place you feel a natural desire to be a loyal customer to. Hurray!

My glasses of 10 years broke and I superglued them back together. I’d been looking for glasses, but was having trouble finding a good pair. Then I happened upon Spectacles of 7th Ave in Park Slope. I fell in love with a pair there but they were out of my price range. I emailed the owner to see if there were any sales coming up. He quickly responded back to me saying «come in and we will talk». Amazing! I went in, told him about my broken glasses, being in grad school… and he gave me a generous discount! His name is Jonah Bergman and he is an angel. I highly recommend this place for rad glasses and excellent customer service!

Bought a pair of eyeglasses on Monday 10 days ago. Was told that I could pick them up this Monday, but wait for call first. They called on Tuesday and said I could pick them up and I replied that I would try Tues. and Wed evening, but evenings were hard. Took of time from work this a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. they were not open. No signs anywhere as to hours. The business card I was give had no hours on it. The recorded answer I received when I call stated that they would not be open in the summers on MOndays. No one has returned my call yet and it is 1:15 p.m. So I am not happy with the service.
