What a treat! Delicious food that satisfies without leaving you feeling unhealthy, charming service, and a pretty and classy but laid-back atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We stopped here last night for dinner after a family bike ride through Prospect Park. It’s the nicest, friendliest place in Windsor Terrace, tucked away on a quiet, tree-lined street, with gracious hosts. The food was fresh and simple and delicious, and prepared with care. We cleaned our plates and resumed our bike ride in blissful satisfaction.

I adore this place. The food is delicious. The coffee is amazing. The only problem is at night it’s too brightly lit. I think they would do more business in the evening if they dimmed the lights and added some candles to the tables.

I finally got here! Very pretty décor, nice(quiet) music. Outside tables for weather like today. I had fabulous coffee, and a sandwich I’m still thinking about: scrambled eggs and Pecorino on ciabatta. Simple, but somehow SO. delicious. Nice arugula salad on the side. The service was lovely and attentive. I will definitely be going back.

This lovely little spot on a quiet sidestreet in Windsor Terrace is like dining in with friends. Giuseppe and his kind, attentive wife/partner offer morning coffee and pastries(nice), but we went last night for dinner and had a meal that was both delicious and – well, serene. No waiter bloviating about a long list of specials, no pretentious menu citing the source of every sprig of thyme; a small but satisfying roster of homemade Italian choices, a red or white or bubbly available by the glass, and a peaceful country-ish little room in which to enjoy it.(And there’s a bit of parking available on street nearby.) The star attraction here is the house-made ravioli(I had the squash variety, silky and sage-infused), but my daughter’s tagliatelle with meatballs and husband’s salmon were also lovely. It’s a quirky spot – I would’ve liked to have been offered some pepper or extra Parmesan, for example – but the warm welcome more than made up for it. On a weeknight they were underpopulated, too – so the lack of a Soup-Nazi-ish wait adds to the relaxing vibe. Prices not cheap, but fair. They do brunch on weekends!

I simply love this place. I come here very often and never disappointed. It’s not a generic café and the food is given a lot of thought. Guiseppe(sp!) owned a restaurant in Sicily for 14 years and is clearly very enthusiastic to introduce the lovely food of Italy to the customers. He uses fresh ingredients and carefully chooses his meat and cheeses. You can taste the subtle flavors in the dishes he prepares. Of course this is a business for them but one both Ellen and G clearly love. Ellen and G are also very friendly people and always greet us warmly. I feel like I am entering into a chef friend’s dining room and kitchen. Yes it is super cozy. My daughter too loves the grilled cheese sandwich here and rubs her belly in great satisfaction! I highly recommend this place and encourage folks to try.

I am so happy I found this little place, what a gem! Its a bright, cheery and very homey place that I unexpectedly discovered one day walking a different route than normal. Great spot for coffee, lunch, delicious, quality food. I haven’t tried dinner but I would like to.

You could starve here while staring at the wait staff as they lean elbows on the counter looking out the window.

Super inconsistent depending on the staff available. Pretty great when it’s thriving, feels like a hidden camera TV show when it isn’t.

I love Savor. I’ve lived in this neighborhood – Windsor Terrace – for ten years, and I’ve been waiting for a great café the entire time. Savor provides a warm and inviting atmosphere for everything from a lovely macchiato to a tasty blood orange mimosa to homemade ravioli. The food is wonderful here. Giuseppe, the chef, personally makes all of the pasta by hand. The sandwiches are also influence by Italian ingredients, especially prosciutto, soppressata, and pecorino. In addition, he makes a beautiful plate of fish, touched off with engaging conversations about his native Sardinia. The pastries are also quite good. I took home a whole box of pumpkin muffins for a holiday with my family. I come to Savor often to grade papers. Helen and Giuseppe are quick to know what I need when I come in. A latte, a frittata, a taste of a new pasta. They are generous with their wine and with their hearts and welcome all who come through their doors.

I’ve walked past this place a few times in the past year. I finally came in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. It seemed like people stopped in for coffee and espresso but didn’t sit down. They have a counter to grab pastries and coffee and also enough room to get dining service. It’s a cute little space even though it felt too homey(i.e. there was a printer out, some books, the display shelf near the bathroom looked a lot like my cookware shelf(disorganized)). We sat down and we the only ones in the restaurant sitting. We ordered iced coffees and the chicken milanese. Both were delicious. The iced coffee was strong. The chicken milanese($ 14) was a large portion of chicken and salad and really hit the spot. It was definitely a hit with my boyfriend and I. The lady behind the counter was both the barista for the coffee portion of the restaurant and our waitress but the cook came out to place our entrees down and pick up the plates when we were done. Overall we were very satisfied with our meals. It’s a cute casual place to grab a bite.

Recently had lunch with my wife here and we really enjoyed it. My wife had the fritatta and I had the BLT. We both shared a soup. The soup was extremely good– very flavorful and definitely home made. The rest of the meal was great. For me, the meal was obviously put together by someone that cares about cooking and food. I’ve read the negative reviews, and I can’t really address them, but the owner was also the only person when we walked in and the rest of the tables still required cleaning/service. If you walk in knowing that this is a small local place without lots of help, then I think you come in with the right attitude. If you come in expecting someone to unfold your napkin and place it on your lap– then you’re in the wrong place. This is not on a major drag and there are not a lot of tables so I don’t know how diners can be surprised at the level of service. I was appreciative of the service, I enjoyed the tasty food, and I’m glad I came. I will definitely come back.

…Awful across the board. We came in on a Saturday evening; no other diners, and only one woman visible on the premises, so we asked if they were open. The woman seemed surprised by the question, and seated us, and then took 10 minutes to come and ask about drinks. And couldn’t remember the drinks order. And didn’t write down our dinner order. And took forever to bring silverware. I used to work in food service, so I empathize with waitstaff when the restaurant is shorthanded, but she acted like that was our fault — when she wasn’t moving through a fog of some sort — and was certainly in no hurry to, well, do anything. The burrata with tomato and arugula looked like she’d thrown it onto the plate from a height, which she probably had; my husband’s chicken came out ten minutes before my ravioli, and the side salad wasn’t dressed in any way, AND she came out to harass me for not eating off his plate while I was waiting, like, 1) go back to the kitchen and make the other dish, then, this isn’t MY fault, and 2) I don’t eat meat, lady, mind your business; the $ 16 ravioli was pretty small for the price, and I’m pretty sure the sauce was from a jar — B-minus at best, and it took for.e.ver. And then we had to ask for the check, no shit, four times.(We only got it when my husband followed her around and told her what we’d ordered, and did the arithmetic for her.) Here’s the thing: if you don’t have enough staff? Close for the night. That, or explain cheerily that you’re cooking AND waiting tables, and if diners can be patient, the first drink is on you. SOMETHING. Something that indicates that you want to run a restaurant, have ANY aptitude for it, enjoy people, and don’t think they’re too stupid to spot a cup of Prego that you didn’t even heat up. She obviously didn’t want to be there and didn’t want US to be there. Wish granted; we won’t be back. Another couple who arrived while we were there eventually got up and left without being served. They told us they’d been to Savor before and had a wonderful experience, that«the Italian guy» had taken good care of them. I wish he’d been there last week; I have to say I’m baffled by these reviews rationalizing the crap service. If you’re going to take approximately a month to serve average-at-best food, you don’t get to be a bitch on top of it. A fail so complete it’s almost hilarious.

l had an European style expresso with milk. In Italy it is macchiato and the old couple that owns this little Café has italian accent. I like them!

Great little secret spot on a beautiful street. The atmosphere is really nice(think European café/bistro) and relaxing. Big windows let in lots of sunlight so it’s cheery and sunny. I went for lunch for the first time and had the spanish style summer vegetable stew. The owner was sweet and served it cold at my request because it was such a hot day. It was so good and only $ 5.99! I heard the chef telling customers that he makes the pasta fresh from scratch and it sounded delicious and healthy. Lots of seasonal fresh vegetables were on the menu too. Seemed like a good balance of vegetarian, meat, and fish options. They have beer and wine too! I agree with other reviewers to just be patient and go for a relaxing meal or coffee. It’s not a rushed place but it’s such a nice place to sit that it’s no problem. I can’t wait to go back for dinner and brunch. This is just what the neighborhood needed.

A lovely, sunny spot in a neighborhood that does not offer anything like this. Hubby and I had a plate of fresh, thinly sliced bresaola, some olives, slices of pecorino, some sopressata and warm crusty bread. Following that, some home made butternut squash ravioli with butter and sage – delightful! A very small operation that ‘s off the beaten path. Small plates, nice wine.

What the??? I went in on a Monday around 1. A lady behind the counter pointedly ignored me, picking up random stuff off the counter instead of making eye contact. After it was clear she was not going to acknowledge me I left. A woman went in right after me and was also ignored. Prices extremely overpriced anyway. $ 4.50 for a coffee.

Given this place a few tries but the service is flat-out terrible and the food doesn’t come close to making up for it. The menu is pretty limited and the space is tiny, so it’s not clear why everything takes so long. I’ve never seen more than 7 or 8 other people there, and yet I’ve waited 10 minutes for a cup of soup(seriously).

I love this little quiet café in Windsor Terrace. It’s virtually empty most of the time and a great place to meet a friend for a quiet chat or a little work. I will add that I’m not thrilled always with the service — the owner isn’t always the friendliest… and it can take an age to get what you’ve ordered. A bit more charm from the staff would go a long way.

Best lemon poppy muffin ever… flavorful, full of zest, & moist! Looking forward to actually sitting down in this little gem for a meal real soon.
