Plaza Cleaners

I was so incredibly disappointed by Plaza cleaner on Montegue. I went there because I saw that it said organic — But I don’t really know if they use organic cleaning supplies. They seem so disengaged with their customers and quality of cleaning that I can’t imagine that they would care enough to use organic supplies. I recently cleaned 2 dresses there and put in a pair of men’s slacks to be repaired after a hole was left in them. The dresses came back starched and discolored. But the most upsetting was the pants. They had been so badly mended it looked as if they were used as scrap material for someone to practice sewing. I would have posted a photo but I left them with her to to fix and when I came back (They were there for 3 weeks) she had the seamstress undo all the threads and claimed that nothing could be done. So not only was I left with the pants still ripped but now they had horrible stitch marks all over them, were ripped so much worse, and they left on extremely messy leftover stitches and one random patch on the side. These were very expensive pants that belong to my boyfriend, he was so upset. The owner Kris a women with long dark brown hair who is there every day was the one I worked with the whole time– she was very unapologetic and rude. So obviously I won’t be taking my clothes there anymore and I rarely write bad reviews. I would just like to let people know so they don’t have there clothes ruined as well by these careless people. Another word of warning they will try to charge you more for things after they clean them. They didn’t get away with this with me, because I refused to pay– especially for damaged clothing. But if you do bring your clothes keep your tickets because when you bring them back they will say they need more money from you for the item being cleaned, mended after they already told you how much it would be. If you are new to Brooklyn Heights which I am, there are much better cleaners all over the area.

I visit this Plaza Cleaner location at least once a week for dry cleaning and/​or wash & fold service. They’re a bit pricey, but honest and reliable. I have yet to be disappointed.
