Super food, with the blackened crust on a Brooklyn style pizza like I like. The center of the bottom was wet with ingredients, but after I knife-and-forked that part away, it was easy to pick up. The kale salad was huge, and could be a portion for two. The meatballs appetizer was heavenly and hot, with tender meatballs like a warm hug for your stomach, given by an aproned grandma still hot from the kitchen. Nice local beer selection, too. Try both local and seasonal, you won’t be disappointed. The décor is very clean and current, with nice marble bar, and an organized-but-small pizza kitchen open in the back. Not your Brooklyn Bridge, checked tablecloth type place. I’d come back, absolutely!

I was in town on business and I’m glad I decided to try it. Food was great, staff was friendly and the neighborhood was a great place for a walk before and after dinner. No regrets. Wish this place was in my neighborhood.

I’ve passed this place many times, sometimes considering going in, but for the most part, just imagining how other Italian places would provide a more unique experience. There is not much street appeal to draw in the unassuming pedestrian, but the simplicity of this pleasant pizza café makes the dining experience all the more memorable. I initially walked in asking if they had coffee and they responded«No, but we have espresso». That’sx‘ when I knew… Everything about this place was right. Authentic, genuine, and artful from the service to the band of goombahs tossing dough by the brick oven. How could I have overlooked such a charming establishment? There is only one person to thank for bringing Dellarocco’s to my attention and that is the lovely blonde-haired boy/man who felt so inclined for some pizza on such a hot summer day. The boy/man chooses to withhold his identity due to the contention of this Unilocal review. Anyway, the indulgence of his presence may have skewed my perception of this culinary exploit. As we shared our prosciutto argula white pizza, each bite became more enjoyable with the lightness of our conversation. I could go on with the irrelevant details of my company, but for now I can only advise the creatures of the Unilocal realm to not simply glance past the average appeal of the Dellarocco awning. Maybe instead take a step inside, even sit down(!), and let the enchanting Italian service and fresh oven feels take you away! Thank you

3.5 stars. A couple friends and I decided to have an early dinner here on a weeknight. The set up of the place is pretty cozy despite having more space on the other side. Service was good and the food came out quickly. There’s a good amount of pizza options on the menu, but not too many options to make your head spin. We ordered 3 pizzas(Margherita, Dellarocco and Burrata Parma), cheese and salumi board and a Radicchio salad. The cheese and salumi board was pretty good, but nothing amazing. You can skip it if you want to save some stomach space for pizza. The Radicchio salad was good, everything that went into it was very fresh. The pizza pies weren’t cut all the way through and weren’t cut evenly, odd. My favorite was the Burrata Parma and as one of my friend’s pointed out, it’s the Raddicchio salad in pizza form; the main difference was the cheese in the pizza really balanced out all the flavors. I’m usually not a big fan of margherita pizza, but they make it pretty well here, not too heavy. The Dellarocco was just ok, didn’t really stand out to me despite being their signature(?) pizza. Overall, this place might not comparable to the more popular pizza joints in the area, but still a nice option to have if you just want some good pizza.

If you’re looking for great pizza in Brooklyn Heights look no further than Dellarocco. The space is cool and comfortable, and the ambience is friendly and hip. We had the Capricciosa and the Tartufata which were both fabulous creations. Definitely going back.

BESTNEAPOLITANPIZZA I HAVEHADOUTSIDEOFNAPLES(ITALY), but most expensive beer I have seen in my life. I am torn on my rating for Dellarocco’s because the pizza was wonderful with a thin, soft, yet firm dough, perfectly baked with just the right amount of burnt spots from the 800+ degree brick oven. The service was excellent. Sabastion, our server, was attentive enough without hovering or interrupting our conversation and the pizzas arrived post haste as they should from an 800 degree oven. The décor is rather modern, sterile, and boring, not what I would expect in a Brooklyn pizzeria. I ordered a pint of IPA, but am glad I specified a pint because Sabastion, our server, was nice enough to tell me the $ 6IPA was closer to a ½ pint than a pint. Where we come from a pint of craft draft ale runs $ 4-$ 6, so paying the equivalent of $ 12 a pint is a non-starter in my book. No beer is worth $ 12 a pint no matter how good it is or where you are … «We’re not in Kansas anymore Dorothy!» Wine is equally overpriced by the glass, although there were several bottles in the $ 30 range, a more reasonable investment. The toppings on the«Dellarocco»($ 16), smoked Buffalo mozzarella, broccoli rabe, sliced sweet Italian sausage, red pepper, garlic, and basil were reminiscent of pizza Napoletana, not too much, not too little. They even had olio picante(EVO infused with red pepper), the perfect accompaniment to my salsiccia e friarielli pizza … buonissimo. This is my go-to pizza when in Naples, so my expectations were not high, however, the Dellarocco was THEBOMB folks! My wife had the«Zucchini»(also $ 16) with the same superb dough topped with a wonderful zucchini cream, mozzarella, thinly sliced smoked prosciutto, and extra virgin olive oil. It was also delicious, light and flavorful with just the right amount of ingredients so you could taste each individually. The pizzas are even the right size for pizza Napoletana(about 13 inches), unusual in the States where most places serve a 12 inch individual pie. An inch makes all the difference folks(I’ll leave it at that). Their prices are nearly three times what you would pay for a similar pizza in Naples, but this is NYC(Brooklyn actually) and I have seen prices for an individual pizza ranging from $ 20 to almost $ 30, so I do not consider Dellarocco’s pizza a bad value. The beer is a different story because I found another place in Brooklyn with several excellent craft draft«pints» in the $ 6 to $ 7 range, so stop gouging your customers and lower your beer and wine prices a little. Heavenly pizza! The lively dough is shaped when you order into a 12″ round which is remarkably thin. Our Pizza Dellarocco was delicious with sausage, peppers and broccoli rapini while a second house special was spicer and even more wonderful. Service was prompt, and gluten free is also available. The place has a broad and exciting menu of salads and starters as well, but one look at the big red hearth oven made pizza irresistible.

We stayed in NY for the first time with a goal to find the best pizza. And we found it! We came here for dinner and the service was fast and friendly and the pizza was seriously something to come back for! The margarita pizza was the best we tried. I will actually miss it when we return to CO.

closer to 3.5, but oh well. We popped in for lunch while in Brooklyn walking around the neighborhood and had the arrabbiata pizza and an order of the meatballs with shaved parmesan, tomato sauce and fresh basil. The pizza had a very tasty charred crust and was a good size to share, but the middle half of the pizza was extremely soggy. Even when folding the slices in half to pick up to eat the tips of the cheese and topping sloughs off and leaves you with wet dough. The flavors of the cheese, sauce, toppings and dough however were otherwise quite good. The meatballs were enjoyable, especially with the slices of shaved parmesan and fresh basil in each bite. Prices were on the medium to high side, and the ambiance of the place was pretty bright and cheery I thought. Not a bad spot, but definitely not a must visit spot or a place I’d go out of my way to return to before trying other spots for pizza in Brooklyn first.

The staff was friendly and the pizza was delicious. I came in with a co-worker and we ordered the Tartufo Pizza(Truffle Cream, Gorgonzola, and Mozzarella). The flavors were not too overpowering and surprisingly light! My co-worker ordered a side of red sauce to go with it and it was an excellent choice. Definitely worth checking out.

I can’t believe I waited this long to try this spot. One of the few establishments in the neighborhood with truly delicious food. I was here with the b/f last Friday. I ordered the 4 flavor pizza and he ordered the 4 cheese pizza. Both were excellent. I’m excited to go back to have an entire zucchini pizza– SO delicious. Love the atmosphere and the service was on point. Reasonable wine prices. And what really puts the cherry on top is that the homemade tiramisu is made with mascarpone-as it should be– and it actually came dangerously close to my mother’s. This will be a new date night destination. If you are in the neighborhood you have to eat here!

I love pizza. I will eat pretty much any pizza, even frozen pizza is edible in my book. How unbelievably happy I was to discover Dellarocco’s and it’s a block away from my apartment. I ordered delivery ffrom them a couple of times and was like«wow, this is good pizza». Last week, I finally went with my daughter to celebrate an occasion and ate at the restaurant. It is a comfortable space, with very attentive servers. We ordered the Tartufo pizza which has mozzarella, Gorgonzola, shiitake mushrooms and truffle cream. We were both in heaven and vowed it was the only pizza we would ever eat again. The other notable menu item is the eggplant parm… it;s like no other — truly the best I have ever eaten. We took what was left over, which was not much, and ate it cold the next day. It was that good.

Friendly staff, cozy place, nice neighborhood, really nice food and awesome pizzas! We had a white pizza(i.e. no tomato sauce) and it was super good! The bread and crust was perfect and the toppings fresh and taste. Even the arugula(or rucola, as I’m used to call it in Europe) was crispy and tasty. Staff seated us immediately(no reservation), were very attentive and delivered the food immediately. Overall, a really nice experience — recommended!

We were here for the Photoville exhibit and were hungirily looking for a nice place to eat. We got the margherita and Siciliana pizzas. The margaherita was not as good as I have had before but good nonetheless. I really like the Siciliana pizaa which my mom got. Will def go back if we are in the area.

I went on a Saturday afternoon around 3:30p to avoid crowds, and the place was empty. Margherita STG: it was supposed to have mozzarella di bufala and it didn’t. The cheese was hard and not milky like it’s supposed to be. When confronted, the waiter confirmed it «was» mozzarella di bufala. Absurd. Just look at my picture. Dellarocco: it was burnt, above and below. Just look at my picture. Nothing else to say, other that the ingredients weren’t fresh, especially the sausage. I have no reason to ever go back. Felt like I was treated like a tourist.

Sehr leckeres Essen in angenehmer Atmosphäre.

I had a really good lunch here today. I started off with the spinach and goat cheese salad. My bf ordered the meatballs. Both were amazing and were much bigger than we were picturing because we weren’t very hungry for our pizza. We ended up getting the four cheese pizza and overall that was good as well. I would have been full and happy with just the appetizers. Would definitely eat here again.

Cary C. took me here during my birthday week to celebrate. We got the gluten free White Pesto pizza to share. The portions were tiny but full of flavor; we debated getting another pie but opted to share dessert instead. Dessert was meh so I wasn’t too thrilled w/it. Dellarocco’s interior design is really airy and spacious with generous gaps between tables to move around. We we seated near the ovens so it was very warm during our meal– an overhead fan might be a good idea to install near the kitchen. Bathrooms were clean and sufficient. Pizza was really delicious but super $$$ for the size. Brooklyn really has gone the way of the 1%. All political statements aside, it’s a place to get good gfree pizza.

Visited Dellarocco’s last after a brisk walk through Dumbo and BK Heights. What’s better on a cold night than some brick oven pizza? This trip we started off with the same salad as before — Spinaci(spinach, goat cheese, mango cubes, pistachios and balsamic vinaigrette). It’s still $ 10 and still a fantastic salad. Next up The Salsiccia ‘Red Pizza’. Yeah yeah it’s the same pizza I ordered the last time I went but why mess with something that’s so good?! After we finished the delicious sausage pie, Hubs looked around the crowded dining room, and over at the table next to ours and said«wanna order another pie?» Pshh yeah I do. For our 2nd we ordered up the Four Cheese option. I told you in my first review I’d be back for a ‘White Pizza’… it took me a couple months to get back but it was so worth the wait. The Four Cheese is fantastic. Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, Provolone, Parmigiano and a dash of basil($ 13). Despite it not having any sauce it was so creamy, and this cheese combo was crazy good. It was a little nutty but salty, and had a kick to it. Crust was great, a little chewy but thin. Hubs commented that the pizza wasn’t heavy. Our whole meal was really light — and we left with happy bellies. Such a good meal! Great service & atmosphere too. One of my new fav pizza spots in NYC, I’m totally loving Dellarocco’s!
