I ordered delivery from here one night because I craved a pizza and pasta(don’t judge me) and after reading the decent reviews I settled on this place. The margherita pizza was straight up soggy, like it wasn’t even a pizza at this point and the Rigatoni Bolognese was flavorless and had a strange texture to it. Maybe it’s just the delivery, and the restaurant is better? Who knows.

I’ve been having this place on my radar for sometime and finally went last night. I had meatballs as an appetizer and was completely underwhelmed with them, the sauce was salty and there were two big pieces of fat in them(I’m guessing they’re mixed with pork). I might be biased because I was born and raised in Williamsburg and there have always been many authentic Italian food establishments to choose from. I also had their Margherita pizza which was pretty good but I’ve had better in some of the around the way pizzerias in the neighborhood. Service was good and we were seated once we got in, my main complaints are for the food.

That may have been the best food that I’ve ever eaten. It was seriously delicious! Thank you for the amazing food, the great service and such a friendly and accommodating staff. Love you guys! We had such a nice dinner with 19 people! The pizza, pasta and entrees were sooooo good and the wine and beer were flowing. Highly recommend!

Very good pie with fresh mozz and basil. The thin crust was just not in the extreme excellent range, as it was too soft and not crisp enough. Great service by the staff.

Definitely(by far) the worst pizza I ever had in NYC. I love italian oven-baked style pizza which is why I tried their pizza since it’s close to home and looked good based on the Unilocal reviews. I tried the prosciutto pizza and it was gross! Not only the pizza was way too overcooked– almost burned– but the prosciutto was everything but prosciutto. It smelled strong and tasted smoky. The cheese looked and tasted like plastic. You could take out the entire layer of cheese at a time, that’s how weird the texture was. The tomato sauce was completely dry and looked like tomato paste! Really bad experience. I would rather stick to the dollar slice pizza!

Made a special trip and the pizza was worth it. White pizza with very fresh and tender clams and pancetta(though no arugula, despite what it said on the menu) on a very thin, almost see-through crust. Yum. Except at the edges, the crust was floppy rather than crisp, though that might have been in part due to the extra cheese I asked for. Caesar salad was standard-issue. Bomba tartufo was a satisfying dessert. Service was timely but a bit gruff and indifferent in attitude.

I’ve had this place bookmarked quite awhile to check out, mainly for the roof. The view wasn’t quite what I expected. Someone mentioned that you can see the East River? Maybe buildings have gone up since then? Anyway the roof was nice but a bit underwhelming. The B rating was not a pleasant sight when we arrived. The pizza was good and to me tastes exactly like Papa Gino’s(a New England chain) – not that that is a bad thing, just odd for a Brooklyn pizza joint. The staff was really nice and it is nice to dine al fresco when weather permits so I may be back if they bump the B to an A. I liked that it was hassle-free to get a seat at 7pm on a Friday night.

I think this is one of the more underrated spots in Williamsburg. Every time I have come here the food has been amazing and the staff is always so nice and personable. Pizza is delicious(recommend the white pizza!) and reasonably priced Also recently tried their penne vodka and it was SO good. Added bonus is the adorable rooftop in the warmer months.

TL;DR: beautiful rooftop, huge portions, nice place to watch the sunset Environment: why stay inside when there’s a rooftop? It’s breezy past 6, overlooks the east river and has their herbs growing on trellises and pots around the roof. Service was friendly but not overly attentive. Food: enormous. A friend and I ordered the walnut and pear salad to start and shared the eggplant rigatoni and Margherita pizza. We took half the pizza home because we couldn’t finish! The walnut/pear salad was delicious — just a bit too much goat cheese — the eggplant rigatoni was very rich, and margherita pizza a little burnt and thin(or just too much sauce and cheese?), but still tasty.

The wait staff was relaxed and offered personal suggestions, something that i always appreciate. Virgin strawberry mojito was on point. The food takes some time to cook but you can’t rush perfection. For our entrées, we order the clam pizza and the clam sauce pasta.

Came here last night for dinner. I previously bookmarked this restaurant because I noticed the cute upstairs outdoor seating. The main attraction here is the pizza but there are other options on the menu. I tried the margarita pizza and the Cesar salad. Everything was amazing my only complaint is I wish the salad was bigger. Delicious!

I’m so surprised by the reviews. I probably eat here more than I should LOL but this place is so tasty. Delivery on seamless is pretty quick. Only reason for 4 stars is the limited amount of bread they allow, if any, and food prep isn’t consistent — some times are better than others BUT always delicious. My fav picks are … Appetizers/side orders– meatballs are amazing Main course– I LOVE the Fiocchi de Pera. Penne vodka is super tasty too. Desserts– I pick either sweet cream and strawberries or ricotta cheesecake… or both… kidddddding people! I only do that if I can split with someone ;)

The entire experience was very disappointing. Not only was the waiter very slow and needed several reminders about our orders(he was nice though) but the food was way below average. The cheese and meat platter we shared as a starter came with three mini slices of baguettes. One tiny slice for each. Somehow I thought bread is included or that we would even get some bread and olive all for the table. The pizza had a nice thin crust but was waaaay too oily. And speaking about oil: That seems to be how the chef imagines Italian food should be. We also had the Gnocchi as well the Tagliatelle. The Gnocchi tasted a little less than ok but the Tagliatelle was awful. The pasta was so oily that I actually used the spoon to get rid of the oil. The cocktail contained nothing else but alcohol. I agree that for some people that’s all that matters but others like us prefer to enjoy the drink rather than getting drunk as quickly as possible. One couldn’t drink the cocktail. We left very disappointed.

I’ve been here twice. The food was mediocre both times. The service is terrible. Last time I came with a party of 5. Someone requested a drink to be altered to make it less strong. The server came back saying he put the drink in a new glass and put chocolate on the rim. The server also forgot to bring one of our salads, but at that point we didn’t want it so we didn’t say anything. He then forgot to bring someone’s pasta dish. We told him we were missing a meal and he didn’t apologize once. He just said that it was in the kitchen. After fifteen minutes when everyone else was basically done eating, we asked the server again. He just said«If you still want it, it’s in the kitchen. He was very defensive and inappropriate. We told him to forget it and we asked for the check. We were charged for our salad that we never got. When we told him he just said he’ll take it off. No acknowledgement that he forgot it or an apology. Honestly, I was wary of this guy from the beginning. He has a ponytail.

[inhale] ahh, the smell of wood burning from a oven. I really like L’isola’s wood fired pizzas and they also offer other italian dishes. A must to start out with is their calamari which was crispy and not oily which left us eating every morsel and crumb. Okay, so we were hungry but it was good. We ordered the margherita pizza with pepperoni and it was delish with the perfect amount of toasted dare I say burnt crust. What would be nice is if they offered a happy hour for their beers and wines as the area competes with their spirit prices but we came to EAT not drink.

Excellent pizza! Thin crust Italian style. The tiramisu we had was huge and enough for two. The rooftop area was nice and casual. The price for the food was very reasonable.

My 300th post(finally) :) This place is awesome!!! Came here with the bf after perusing some possible dinner spots in Williamsburg. We got here a little earlier than typical dinner time around 6pm and there was plenty of seating to choose from. We originally wanted to sit inside, but we were given a chance to look at the rooftop seating and decided to go with that. It was beautiful out with a nice view and fresh herbs grown all along the edges of the roof. In the inside part of the rooftop, there was also a TV. The tables had umbrellas and the place looked like it could be used as a venue for an outdoor bridal/baby shower or private event. The waiter we had was Liu and he was awesome! Really nice and efficient! We also had Roberto, and Christian who was was super friendly and attentive! We have since been here 3 times in the same week and again with the parents. We tried the mozzarella e corozza which was deliciously fried and filled with fresh mozzarella with a side of pesto sauce, black linguini with mussels, shrimp, clams and calamari, the shrimp and lobster pasta, the appetizer made with chickpeas, the mussles in red sauce, the clam appetizer, 2 different bottles of wine and of course the pizza! Not a thing we didn’t like! Everything was so great! The sauces made here are so authentic and fresh tasting and really separates this place from others. We look forward to coming again! This place is definitely going to become one of our go-to places! :)

A decent spot in Williamsburg on Metropolitan Ave. I like the fact that they have a rooftop/outdoor seating area so you can enjoy the nice weather while eating. The pizza is fresh and definitely Brooklyn style. It is thin crust. I wish it was crispier. My gf and I shared the Pizza Purgatorio. It had nice heat to it, and they piled on a good amount of meat too. However, due to all the toppings, it made the pizza a bit soggy since the dough is pretty thin. I should have known better and stuck to the good ol solid margherita. We also shared a plate of the linguine pescatore. For a pasta lover, it was the 1st time my gf ordered a squid-ink pasta. It was my 1st time as well. It was ok. I felt like the linguine was slightly overcooked. In addition, i didn’t really taste the«ocean» as most ppl say they do when they eat squid ink pasta. Overall the dish was taste and it had a good amount of mussels. The service was very hospitable and kept on checking on how everything was. Overall the place is solid.

This review is soley for drinks and atmosphere. We were walking on by when we saw a sign that said they had a roof-top so we were sold. Its a cute little area upstairs. We ordered a pitcher of sangria to start. It wasn’t on the menu, but they said they could make it for us. Already, that made me like this place. I also like how the sangria was not watered down. They gave us a full pitcher with no ice(which is a good thing) and then gave us cups with ice in them. The sangria was perfectly made and we were able to get about 2 cups each for 4 people. Some of my friends also ordered some beer. We did see people with their pizzas and they looked amazing, so I definitely would come back to try their pizza and have more sangria on their rooftop!
