DONOTMIXTHEOLDQUALITY&REVIEWSOFTHISLANONNAUPWITHTHECURRENT, ANDESPECIALLYWITHTHEDISGRACEFULONETHEYOPENEDUPONKENT. This La Nonna, up until about a few months ago had the best pasta dishes you would have ever had in your life. Now, the owners are selling disgusting quality food at through the roof prices, they give you four small frozen/packaged raviolis for $ 24 and all of the seafood is imitation and super cheap, horrible quality. Expect better shrimp in your fried rice from the chinese takeout spot or from a cup of noodles ramen because la nonna will now feed you that quality and the owner could care less. She’ll argue with you saying, «at least its real shrimp you’re getting» Its absolutely horrible what a dive this business has taken.

Affordable, some kind of a cross between creative authentic excellent italian and cheesy italian… but delicious nonetheless and BYOB!

Excellent food. Great service everyone was very attentive and eager to service you. Their penne alla vodka was awesome. The portions were perfect for the price. There seem to be a lot of locals and visitors. Highly recommend this place in Little Italy. My family truly enjoyed the experience

Great slices. I would never in a million years sit down and order pasts at the place. But the pizza is pretty good stuff, especially for a by-the-slice counter.

I’ve never had the pasta here but this is my to go place for pizza whenever I feel the urge after volunteer dog walking. $ 2.50 gets you a slice of thin crust, margherita pizza with a good cheese to sauce ratio and a sauce that for most of the time, is well balanced between sweet and tart and salty. The crispiness of the crust varies, but it’s a tasty slice all the same. The fresh mozzarella slice is also delectable, though for some reason tastes more unctuous than the regular slice. B rated or not, I like it. The staff is friendly and efficient, the place has an old Italian café feel with it’s dark hardwood tables and chairs. There’s a large TV, which served well during World Cup. My only complaint would be that for most of the summer, the A.C. was broken. Even with the place had the large glass doors open, the place was as hot as a boiler room, which did make me go somewhere else to eat sometimes. I don’t know how other Unilocalers tasted the Italian food. Every time I’ve gone, which is many, there’s been a sign that says serving pizza only. Unless perhaps it was only for lunchtime and the sweat coming down my brow blurred my vision. Maybe the B rating was for broken A.C.

This is a hit or miss, I have ordered in and eaten in, the food is the same. The pastas are OK and the pizza is subpar for the area. If you are in the area and want quick pasta this place is good. You will not leave with any fond memories of you meal, you might even forget you were there the pesto is and tomato based sauces are their best. BUT it’s not expensive and its convenient. Ordering in does take a while so make sure you have time.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I like their pizza a lot too, but this review is based on integrity alone. I left my bag WITHMYBOSS’S MACBOOKINIT here for about 4 hours.(Zero stars to me for intelligence.) But these guys found it, held on to it, and then made sure I knew what was in it when I came to pick it up, to make sure I wasn’t a random person coming to take stuff that didn’t belong to me. Thank you! People talk about service and they’re usually talking about whether the waiter smiles a little or whatever — but this is the best service you could ever hope for: when it really truly matters. Thanks La Nonna! I will be eating your pizza in gratitude for a long time.(Good excuse to eat pizza!)

You might pass here thinking, «oh a pizza joint.» True. The pizza is terrific howeer, and you can have a delightful, reeal-deal sit-down meal of pasta and other stuff, and its all quite delcious. And they are super kind and friendly. Its an oasis of normal in comparison to some of the ridiculous tudey places that blare music and serve uncomfortableness by the boatload. If you like simple tasty italian food, give it a try.

I’ve eaten at La Nonna several times and have found the food to be consistently good, and there is a wide variety of choices. The amount of daily specials they have is almost comical; but they tend to hit the mark, use quality ingredients and come up with some creative ideas at the same time(I enjoyed one dish which employed Manchego cheese, for example. Sometimes a large menu can lead to uneven cooking; but everything I’ve had here has been excellent and reasonably priced. A favorite is the Fagottini Piccanti which is from the homemade pasta section. Wines by the glass are inexpensive and good for washing down a plate of pasta. I haven’t yet tried the pizza, which is served from the counter like a typical slice joint; but there is table service in the room for you to order off the menu and have dinner. While the food is great, the place is a bit cramped; not a deterrent to repeat visits but that is the reason for the four stars instead of five. Recommended.

I’ve found my new favorite spot. The best Bolognese I had so far. I took the Cavatelli, home made fresh pasta(and trust me: it is home made fresh pasta) with the best Bolognese sauce I had in years. Now I should explain to my Mamma that her Bolognese is now in position number 2. My fiancé got the Ortolana salad(she lives on a diet and she doesn’t even imagine what she’s missing) with white beans, chick peas, radicchio, olives and balsamic glaze: OMG, I didn’t know that vegetables could be good AND healthy. All the rest was just fantastic, fresh focaccia as bread and the most friendly and attentive service without attitude typical of some place here around. As I said, my new favorite spot and they’re also opening the new location on Kent Ave. Can’t wait to check that out as well. Ah: I’m sorry I’ve to photo to show you but the food was so EPIC that I even thought about taking a photo of the plate. Next time guys, I promise. Nice job La Nonna, 5 stars well deserved.

It seems very popular place. I only came here to grab pizza between work. $ 2.5 for a slice of plain pizza, they taste good. It could be less oil for my liking but still you know I can take off some by myself :) so no problem. The inside looks cozy and with orangey lighting, cozy yet vey lively. I would love to try this place not to go but for stay sometime if I have a chance.

This restaurant is a WOW! Every time! I just had the special Arctic Char with Mashed Potatoes and Kale… It was absolutely delicious! I usually get pizza or eggplant parm(the one that’s stacked… it’s an appetizer), but this time I felt like something different. What a dinner! This is my favorite Italian Restaurant in Williamsburg. They even have gluten free items. So go… and enjoy! :)

This place was recommended by a friend’s husband. He and his father drive out of their way to hit this place every time business takes them from Philly, where they live, to anywhere in New England. Since they go so far out of their way, and they are Italian, as in left their family in Italy to move here and still go back to visit family every other year, I decided that was a suggestion worth following on my visit to Brooklyn. The pizza is really good. I had a veggie deep dish because the veggies looked so good, but should have stuck to a regular thin crust which is my normal preference. But the bruschetta, which was one of their MANY specials the day we went, and the Burrata appetizers were AMAZING. Burrata is always so good, but this place serves it with this stuffed bread that is different from anywhere else I’ve tried it. This meal, from this place, is now one of the best«meals» I’ve ever eaten(though it is rich so you can only eat so much at a time). Worth a visit, GOTRYIT.

We were super lucky since we stopped by here on a Friday night around 9:30pm and were seated right away. Man, the food was great! Service was mehhh, but oh well. Started with the eggplant pizza which was really good! Perfect fluffy crust, dripping cheese, fresh tomato sauce and eggplant. My friend and I shared it and we were pretty full after eating it, but decided to get pasta too. BECAUSEWHYNOT, ANYWAY? I got the gnocchi and LOVED it! Super filling, cooked perfectly and loved the addition of fresh tomatoes and mozzarella. Needless to say I was STUFFED after all this and couldn’t move at all. Whatever, it was worth it. Food was fab and I’ll definitely be back if I’m looking for excellent Italian food in the future. It seems like they have a dozen specials every night so there’s no way you can go wrong. Only thing I’d change was the meh service we got. Server barely ever came by and it was tough getting her attention to bring cheese or water. And, even when I did, she barely remembered anyway. But whatever, I’ll be back. DELISHFOOD!

Seriously… the food is worth the wait if you come for dinner. I can understand why people might complain about the wait or about the service, but the food is worth it. I don’t live in NY anymore, but when I come back to visit family this is one of my ‘must visit’ places! Usually I write a list or review for one of two items on the menu, but for La Nonna you can trust that whatever you get on the menu is absolutely delicious… and I have never said that about any other restaurant.

So refreshing to go to a pizzeria and know that it’s real Italian pizza and not a Mexican place making Italian food. The staff at La Nonna are all Italian and it has a really homey family atmosphere. They’re all really friendly and if you go there alot they get to know you. Usually when I go there’s a cute little girl running around helping out. It’s a great restaurant to go with your family or just with a group of friends. I always leave feeling full and happy. The slices of pizza look soooo good in the display that you could spend forever trying to decide what to get. Luckily my boyfriend chose our takeout order the first time I ate there so didn’t have to go through that ordeal. FOODGASM. Their vodka slice is the best slice of pizza I’ve had in NYC. And their eggplant parmigiana sandwich is amaaaaazing! Make sure you ask them to bread it though– I was really disappointed once when I got takeout and it wasnt. The eggplant juice soaked into the bread and it was really soggy. When its breaded though you can’t beat it! I think that’s my fave thing to eat here. For months I’d been ordering vodka slices from La Nonna until I discovered something that made me very sad. The vodka slice apparently had little pieces of pancetta under the cheese layer. Usually I scarf the slices down so I never noticed before but this time I was on the train eating and since the train light is really bright I noticed the pieces of meat. I’m vegetarian… that discovery made me so sad… I couldnt eat my fave pizza slice anymore! The staff at La Nonna is so great though that one of the guys who worked there noticed that I hadn’t been in for a while(used to go every week before the vodka slice discovery). I told him what happened and he said that he would make vodka slices without meat :-D WOOOOO La Nonna! I’ve never tried their pasta before but the dishes are huuuuge and look really authentic. They look so yummy that when I’m waiting for my takeout order I have to force myself to stop staring at what people are eating. I’d also recommend trying their cannoli. Delicious! There have been days when I’ve gone to La Nonna just for a cannoli One thing I wish was different about La Nonna is their size! It gets crowded on the weekends/dinner time so it’s a hassle to move around sometimes. Also, be careful if you ever walk to their bathroom and you’re not wearing sneakers… the floor is really slippery by the cash register! I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone bust their ass yet, I know I almost have several times.

La Nonna is a great neighborhood pizza spot. Food: Only tried the pizza thus far, the spicy sausage slice is great. Tons of fresh crumbled sausage with lots of flavor. The crust is great too. Grandma slice was saucy, garlicy and otherwise perfect. The large variety of pies all look great. Service: The main guy behind the counter is great, incredibly friendly and welcoming. Décor: large pizza counter with tables and chairs all around, nicer than a typical pizza joint.
