Love HOTR, but unfortunately, it is closed! So sad. We really enjoyed going there with our kids. Major bummer for breakfast options in the area.

I’m officially a fan. This quaint restaurant simply made my day when I stumbled upon it because the place I was originally headed to was closed. My order: french toast and, yes, can I have some of those sweet potatoes and onions you’re putting in your omelet special. Oh and that fresh-squeezed orange juice. And, thank you, I will indeed help myself to the self-serve coffee bar. Everything that touched my lips was tasty. The coffee was perfect and the orange juice was so fresh I asked if they made it themselves. If I’m ever back this way, this will be on my list to revisit. Hopefully, I’ll try something new but I’ll likely be craving that french toast again. Quick tip: this is a cash only establishment.

The food was delicious. I ordered the french toast and loved it. The one drawback was that the service was very slow, because it seemed that there was only one woman serving all of the tables, and she may have been the main person doing the cooking as well.

My «go to» breakfast spot since I discovered it, 2 years ago. Unique breakfast choices with an eye toward a healthy breakfast that also tastes great. It’s not a fast food place or a diner so there may be a little wait. My husband and I go there when we have a little time to relax and enjoy a very tasty breakfast.

It’s an excellent breakfast place located in Black Rock if you like a friendly atmosphere and great food. It’s not a place where you get drive through service and woof down your food like other reviewers expect. Go for a leisurely excellent breakfast on a Sunday morning. Enjoy.

The reviews on here deceived me. My grandmother got an omelet and I got pancakes. The food was subpar. It’s something I think I could make better and I don’t even cook.

Wow! Great food! Small place on Fairfield avenue Not well staffed and busy so expect s little wait to get your food. But if you’re here for the food, you won’t be disappointed.

Been coming to this little Black Rock gem for years for breakfast and sandwiches/soup/salads for lunch. It is all healthy but consistently delicious! Meaning if you aren’t a health foodie, you can eat here too! Everything is cooked fresh to order. The sandwiches are inventive and have their own names. A neighborhood hangout for sure but people do come from surrounding towns(like us).

Stumbled up this spot last Sunday while waiting for my wife’s car to be serviced… what a great little spot! The food was great, and the owners were both very friendly and stood at our table and chatted for a while. We will be back soon!

Everything on the menu is delicious! Always fresh and tasty. Service is great. The owners are so friendly. It’s true, the service isn’t exceedingly fast, however it’s completely worth the wait. The specials are always creative and delicious !

Have been coming here for years, anytime I am in town. The owners are awesome and always remember my family. It is a homey place and the food is delicious. Also love that they often have the works of local artists on the walls. This is a gem of Bridgeport– support delicious local business and eat here!

The sign outside promises«real food fast.» I received neither on a recent Sunday. My order of scrambled eggs took 30 minutes(is that«fast?») and the potatoes were dry and flavorless(«real?») oh well, I guess it beat the one-hour wait at Harborview Café.

My boyfriend and I decided to try here for breakfast instead of the hotel buffet. We are so glad we did. This place is tiny, about 8 two tops, but really cute. Owned and operated by A husband n wife. Menu was short, but with some good options, including healthy stuff. They also offered specials of the day. I had a ham, egg, n cheese on a roll, with a cup of tea(that you serve yourself) and the bf had an all white omelette with Swiss and mushrooms with coffee. It came out fast n hot and was delicious. We were satisfied. The bill was about $ 17. We would def recommend for anyone passing through the area and we would eat here again.

Really great little homemade breakfast place in an unassuming location. We had an egg-white omelet that was fantastic as it wasn’t slathered in butter/grease/etc. Fiancé also had the French toast special(berries with a vanilla yogurt sauce on multi-grain) that was extremely light on the egg«wash». Overall, highly recommended. Walk in, grab some tea or coffee, and enjoy.

Very good! After a bad dinner the night before we went to Unilocal for a breakfast recommendation and it did not disappoint. The woman running the place was super friendly, she got a booster seat set up for our baby. Husband had the banana pancakes and said they were really good. I had an omelette that came with good potatoes and toast. They have a help-yourself coffee bar in a very homey, neighborhood joint. This is not a place to expect a quick breakfast, they make everything from scratch as you order it. It seemed to me more of a place that you come for a leisurely meal while reading the paper or having a nice conversation. Portions were not huge but I did not leave hungry and wasn’t miserable from overeating after breakfast. Cash only.

I didn’t give this place a hearty enough review because I am grumpy in the morning. Cheerful, hand-written specials greet us on Sundays. It’s also a hotbed of smart people –they are fun to listen to. A Weekend New York Times is almost always available, & sometimes even the Bridgeport Post! But you want to hear about the food. Homemade delicious breakfasts. I always hope that sourdough bread is available to go with whatever top-notch vegetarian omelette is available that day. Ingredients are always fresh and high quality. If they had a wc, they’d get 5 stars(they may have one, but I’ve never found it!)

Breakfast, especially in a small place like Home On the Range should be quick and inexpensive. This place is neither. You will wait for some time for your food. And their prices are fairly high, especially for being in a low income city, Bridgeport. The food portions are also small. The side of home fries can be eaten in a few bites and its gone. Home on The Range‘s only upside is that the food tastes pretty good. But for my time and money, I will not visit again.

Went here this morning for brunch while«vacationing»(aka cat-sitting) in Fairfield. The place is tiny, but cute; homey and cozy and very, very tasty. Prices are good as well, although it is cash-only. Our brunch was $ 40 including tax and tip; BUT two of us ordered the $ 9.25 specials. Regular menu items top out at $ 6(for pancakes, french toast, omelettes), and the breakfast sandwich is only about $ 2.50. Be forewarned; the side of bacon is $ 3 and is only three sad tiny slices of bacon, SO not worth it. Coffees were self-serve, in brightly colored ceramic mugs. I ordered the special french toast, which was made with a multi-grain baguette and topped with sweetened yogurt drizzle, sauteed apples, candied ginger, and maple syrup — plus a side of bacon. My two dining companions ordered the breakfast sandwich with home fries, and the pancake special; multi-grain pancakes with blueberries and cinnamon chips, topped with sweetened strawberry yogurt drizzle and fresh strawberries. My french toast was crazy good; I can’t wait to try recreating it at home. I can only assume my friends felt the same, as they cleaned their plates as quickly and thoroughly as myself. As far as I can tell, the food served here doesn’t taste like chef food; it tastes like food you make at home if you happen to be a really good cook, and that can be(and was) equally satisfying. Definitely recommended if you’re in the area.
