Went to the château for the first time today. Upon arriving I noticed the ambiance to be pleasing and all of the staff were friendly which is why I gave the one star. However the rest of the meal was just about awful. My boyfriend ordered a glass of wine which was about half full, which is weird for $ 6. I ordered chicken parm and he had the eggplant parm. The portions are quite small for the price, definitely enough for one meal but not enough for leftovers. The chicken was rubbery and the sauce tastes like something out of a can. I also have never been to a legitimate Italian restaurant that lacked espresso drinks. I also ordered the tiramisu and then it dawned on me that if they do not have an espresso machine then the tiramisu certainly certainly must not make the dessert fresh in house. For the prices the food was certainly not up to par. Overall very disappointing. There are wayyyy better Italian places and we probably won’t be back here.

Why do people go here? I had my first and last visit yesterday. Ordered online for pick-up at 6:00 p.m. Arrived at 6:05 p.m. and waited til 6:30 for order to be ready. There were quite a few diners there so I expected they were all here for good food. I was home and began eating not even 10 minutes later and everything was ice cold. How can that be? The stuffed mushrooms were tiny and tasteless, the penne pasta was bland, the chicken piccatta was fair. I heard the toasted rav’s were amazing and they were cold and chewy. What a waste of time and money.

After our visit on the 19th, I got an e-mail from the GM about the write-up. She apologized and explained why things were not right. A couple of days later the GM called me while I was in the car, which means she was on the hands-free speaker system. My wife sat there while we had a conversation, again, about the service. On multiple occasions during our conversation the GM tried to get me to agree that the bad service was OK. I would not agree to that. My wife thought the GM’s approach was very strange. The GM also told me to be sure to identify myself next time we were in. On the 17th of May we again visited the restaurant and identified ourselves to the GM. She was very nice and said to have a good meal. Now, I certainly would not have expect the entire meal to be complementary(and would not have accepted it), but considering we didn’t get our appetizer last time, I kind of expected the appetizer to be complementary this time, just to show some customer appreciation. I was in the information technology business for 45 years. My success rate was around 97%(no one is perfect, including the Château). But when I messed up I found a way to make it up to the customer, to show that I appreciated their continued business. Not this GM. We got the opinion that it was just a given that we would return once again. Hopefully there is a lesson to be learned in this Château location. On a closing note, our server was very nice and the food, as usual, was very good. Only because of these two items did I rate our repeat visit as a 4.

Food is fire and the music is unmatched. Head there for the jams particularly at lunch time. My friend is a workout junky and swears he looks good because of the food here. Comes everyday. If you see Paul say hi.

We just had dinner here because they closed down bugaboo(sad face). We went around 5pm and it was busy but we saw a lot of empty tables so I’m assuming they were reserved. The place looks decent and I do like the ambiance. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip and large mussels in garlic and oil to start. They gave us plenty of chips with side of toasted bread to dip and we had a lot of leftovers of it– not so much of the dip. My husband ordered the 14oz NY steak with side orders of broccoli and potatoes; which he had no complaints of(but also no compliments either). I got the pick two: NY steak tips and salmon with side of sweet potatoes fries and butternut squash. I felt like the portion was too small for the cost and taste. It only came with 3 tips by the size of my two fingers combined. The salmon wasn’t all that either which I barely ate. We got our toddlers spaghetti with meatball kids size and the portion was BIG. Came with 1 big meat ball but taste wise– it wasn’t anything special either. They looked and tasted quite bland as well but hey, they seem to enjoyed it so whatever. If we had known it was going to be THAT big, we would’ve just ordered 1 kids meal. Our server was really nice and knowledgeable. She got our orders in right away and everything came out unexpectedly fast. I’m giving 3 stars for the ambiance and the wonderful service we’ve had on a busy night but the food was not worth the cost.

The service and food are okay. Could be better.(We found a little hair in our plate) it was a bit gross and we lost our appetite. My glass of water also was dirty and had a few things stuck on the outside of it. We showed the server and she gave me another glass of water. Server gave us the wrong drink– something we didn’t order, she also forgot when we asked her for something. Over all it wasn’t a great experience.

Been to the Château many times. We were disappointed the last time. Portions are smaller, prices are higher. The food is still decent. This place is always busy and we waited about ½ for a table. I think they may have been short staffed. The onion rings were ok not like they used to be, crispy and done right.

There’s usually one bad meal that gets people to start reviewing on Unilocal. The Château did it for me tonight. For apps, the fried ravioli was decent but the calamari was cold and soggy. The shrimp scampi was awful: 5 overcooked shrimp, a bowl of overcooked pasta, and a garlic butter sauce that tasted like the boiled water that was used to make the overcooked pasta. No flavor at all and a total rip off at $ 35 per person without drinks. Don’t ever come here, you can get a better meal at the Burger King next door.

The Olive Garden(or even worse), but without the free salad and breadsticks. I don’t expect this place to be anything like a trendy North End Italian establishment, but don’t give me something that’s akin to my college cafeteria. I went for a lunch combo with included three different types of pasta. The fettuccine alfredo was watery and flavorless. The chicken parmigiana was also devoid of flavor and the texture of the chicken was tough. I wouldn’t be surprised if the chicken was previously frozen. Lastly, the toasted ravioli was cold, which made if difficult to eat. Overall, nothing was all that warm. Service was incredibly slow. We didn’t have a server attend to us until 15 minutes after sitting down. The décor doesn’t really match the cuisine. Walking in, it seemed like a lodge that would have apres ski food and steak.

My company ordered food for a luncheon and all i have to say is thank goodness i didn’t have to pay. Food really had no taste. The lasagna consisted of sauce and a few noodles and sprinkles of clumped up cheese. The ziti with broccoli and chicken was beyond tasteless. No sauce or flavor… it really was dried up pasta wth boiled chicken. Glad it was on the company dollar bc i would’ve been upset.

Definitely don’t go by the hype. Mediocre food. I had pasta and shrimp. I had a rock in my pasta and the shrimp was burnt. Got really dry fries. The only good thing was my beer and I am glad that it wasn’t them making it.

This is an underrated chain where you can order anything on the menu and be satisfied, the service is always good, the ambience is pleasant and of all things it’s on the South Shore

I love this place. The bread is fantastic and whatever they put in the sauce is so good. Waitstaff can be hit or miss, today’s was excellent. For some reason they don’t have the two plate combo meal anymore. Make sure to try the toasted ravioli

Don’t know how they stay in business! Rude staff, horrible food! Confronted by 2 guidos that are management, well one was, the other was his tough guy son! Even the bar waitress said they’re hoods! Sad, very sad, as this place given the right management could excel!

Ok here’s my assumption — chicken parm is made with 1) chicken and 2) Parmesan cheese. Having made this dish myself at least 100x, I know this to be true. After ordering this, I realize the Chateu’s assumption is much different than mine I’ve visited this place in the past, swearing never to return. However, today I was headed to Braintree T and this place is the closest stop for a beer and keno. I do not recommend making a food decision on this basis. Why not try chicken parm-you can’t screw that up. Wrong. Correct me if I’m wrong management, but the chicken was pre breaded and, likely frozen. And the slab of cheese thrown on before sending it under the broiler was NOT Parmesan. Maybe American cheese or some cheap provolone from BJs, but definitely NOT Parmesan. Terrible. The sauce was jarred, or their best effort at duplicating a jarred sauce, and the pasta was overcooked. Boring as hell presentation, unappetizing. Only giving 2 stars for the overextended bartender/waitress Lisa who was pleasant throughout, though inefficient at serving a small lunch crowd. Who can blame her with the local/over65 clientele, none of whom issued even a cursory smile. I am endlessly disappointed by food in this town. Only Sintra stands out in a sea of low expectations. Nice décor Château, but big fail at delivering even the basics of decent Italian food. Now I promise to myself to remember why I swore this place off in the first place.

We have been here more than once for supper. We usually get the chicken parm, which is good. We suggested it to friends when we were going to lunch. Both men got the haddock. The serving was incredibly small for $ 15. When my husband asked, the waitress said they should have asked for the dinner meal because it was bigger. My husband and I went for supper last night. We both got the broiled haddock. His meal was completely cold, mine was lukewarm The portion was no bigger than the lunch serving. It was $ 4 more. We won’t be going back.

I’ve never been particularly amazed by their food. However, I have gone a handful of times because they happen to be ridiculously close to my house. Their food is ok, not spectacular and frankly overpriced for the quality. While the food is OK, the service really leaves something to be desired. My waitress tonight had no personality what so ever and spent most of the evening ignoring my husband and myself, so she could hang out with her friends at the next table. However we didn’t decide until after we were done eating that we were never going again. You see, my husband used to restroom and that’s where all h&!&&! broke lose. He went in there and apparently someone had been getting it on in the bathroom and they left their evidence behind. My husband let the manager know and he couldn’t have cared less, no apologizes, nothing. I asked to speak with him and told him this was unacceptable. Château peeps, if you’re reading this, your«manager» Michael sucks. After arguing back and forth and him even suggesting that we could’ve planted it there, he offered a whopping 25% off our dinner. Big deal. We will never return. This is a restaurant, not a nasty night club!

We got seated at the lounge area which was fine. Cozy banquet. It took a whole lot of time before anyone came over to say hello or take a drink order. At least 5 minutes! Her first remark was being surprised that no one brought bread over. Hmmm, I thought it was her that suppose to bring it? Maybe after we order drinks? So I put an app in which came in a reasonable amount of time for half order of buffalo wings that did not appear delectable. It was only partially covered in sauce. Half ass toss job to be exact! The dinner took forever to come. She did go in to check but never updated us. I finished my Arnold Palmer waiting and asked for second which took part way eating into entrée to get it. At least the food didn’t come out cold! Her service was reflected on gratuity. I never thought it would be a two hour dinner at a family restaurant! This will be the last time I dine here till I forget this experience.
