The food is damn good. And damn bad for you. Only thing about this place is that every time I call in an order they will me 20 minutes. I show up after 25 and 9⁄10 have to wait another 20 minutes at the restaurant. If it’s gonna take 45 minutes that fine as long as you don’t will me 20. Waste so much time at the place but the 50 cent Sunday wings are too good to stop coming back every once in a while

This place is slow as haaaail. Remember the golden rule of 3’s that fat shack seems to live by. Multiply your estimates wait time by 3… Should be fresh and hot out the fryer right when you walk in.

Yummy food, friendly staff, fair prices. Good nosh, and less pricey than other(more foodie) places in the neighborhood. Overall, really enjoyed stopping in here and will likely be back.

Grreat place to go if you’re stoned and want something tasty, fried and likely horrible for you. If you’re a health nut don’t bother. I usually order their honey bbq wings and fries which i recommend if you aren’t feeling the sandwiches. Their milkshakes are good too. Ive tried all their deep fried desserts and prefer the deep fried chocolate chip cookies above the rest. If you’re going to complain about unhealthy fried food and grease, don’t visit a restaurant called the fat shack! Its comfort food for once in awhile, not your everyday lunch spot.

Enjoyed the atmosphere, the food was ok. I especially liked the fried pickles and the Deep Fried funnel cake bites. If your stomach doesn’t handle fried, greasy food well, this is not the place for you.

Unreal good — hit the spot just when I needed it — go for the sweet buff sauce but you can’t lose with anything on the menu

Fat shack is slow and meh. The food comes out cold and the shakes are watered down and shitty. I have had the fat shack twice and it along with all sandwiches don’t come out hot as if the ingredients had just been fried in grease. The employees are all stoned college kids and its understaffed at times. The foot is a sloppy mess that’s drowned in sauce. Whatever I’ll take the same cash across the street to Boulder bowls.

This is in no way a ding on the service. I came in late on a weeknight and just ordered the first thing on the menu having no idea what to expect. What I got was something with jalapeño poppers, french fries and some other stuff on it. Mostly french fries. Not feeling it.

This place is terrible. Don’t eat here, seriously it’s fucking gross. And full of frat boy dipshits.

This place is a variation, or just a plain rip-off, of the galatically-famous Rutgers Grease Trucks( ). I have eaten many, many, many Grease Truck sandwiches in my day, and I can attest that the Fat Shack sandwich I had(the Fat Slob, specifically) lived up to my memories of its Rutgers forebears. The only difference I spotted was that the Slob didn’t have any tomato or lettuce in it, which I hazily recall the originals always having, and which would have been nice touches. (Note that my rating is potentially biased, inflated with several sandwich-tons of nostalgia.)

UPDATE: In response to my review, the owner, Tom messaged me with a sincere apology for our experience along with an offer to either provide us with another sampling of their food free of charge or issue a full refund on our previous order. While I don’t plan to revisit The Fat Shack, I would be remiss if I didn’t at least meet Tom halfway and upgrade my star rating; his offer to make things right should not go unrecognized here. Furthermore, I hope this update is taken into consideration by all who read this when seeking their next late-night(half-sober) grindfest.

The fat shack fries are one of my favorite take out fries. They have a crispy coating. Though they should consider putting holes in the box because they tend to be soggy once they get here. EDIT1÷25÷14− They have started to puncture hole in the lids so no more soggy fries. The fries alone are probably why this place gets 4 stars. Their fried food is average. Their beer battered onion rings were limp and greasy. The chicken tenders tasted like they were fried in stale oil, but they were very crispy. There’s potential, but they could use improvement. The buffalo wings taste a lot like Pizza Hut buffalo wings. They’re generally good and they’re 50 cents on sunday which makes it even better. The hamburgers are average. The meat is quite good, but I wish they would use regular hamburger buns instead of sliced up hoagie rolls. A good bun would really make these a lot better. Cheesesteak meat was kind of strange last time I tried it, and in general most of the sandwiches have very been hit or miss for us, but the breakfast egg and cheese sandwich is usually quite good. For the milkshakes: They’re generally pretty good, but they often aren’t the most blended, with chunks that settle at the bottom, and too liquidy at the top. Not bad though. I still will order if I’m craving a shake late at night. There’s better places during the day that deliver though. Mac and cheese bites and mozzarella sticks are pretty good. The quesadillas are good too, seems like the same cheese on the cheese fries which is excellent. I usually get them with chicken. The fried oreos are pretty good. They are dusted with powdered sugar. If they made their cheesesteak taste better(without peppers and onions to mask it up. husband is from from philly and likes them plain with american cheese) and improved the sandwiches and chicken tenders, this place would be amazing. We keep coming back for the fries.
