I’ve been looking for good Chinese food in Boise since Twin Dragon closed, and thought I might try Guang Zhou. My all time favorite Chinese food is General Tso’s chicken, so I figured I’d try the General’s chicken. Unfortunately it was one of the most boring dish’s I’ve ever eaten. There was hardly any taste to the chicken at all, and the sauce was boring and ‘syrupy’. There was almost no flavor to any of it. The potstickers were also nearly completely flavorless. They tasted doughy and otherwise were entirely unappetizing.

The best Chinese in Boise! Reasonable prices, with excellent taste. Vegetables are crisp, noodles and rice are not greasy, and the General’s Chicken is to die for. Food preparation time is speedy, without sacrificing quality. Don’t be scared away by this restaurant being in the movie theatre plaza! The inside is spotlessly clean, tastefully and modernly furnished, with the overall ambiance being very enjoyable. Plus, you can people watch movie-goers, which always turns out to be interesting. An easy five stars for Guang Zhou from me.

I’ve only been here 3x & I think I had good experience both food & service. It’s just a small restaurant across Edrwads cinema. Anyway, I had a take out yesterday, my waiting time was about 15 min for the food to cook & packed. It was a good waiting time since there were a couple of people in front of me. There’s a parking spot closer if you do take out btw. I ordered beef kung pao & Mandarin chicken! They were both delicious & was surprised with how much it was in there, pretty great portion for $ 8 plus you get a cup of steamed rice, I upgraded & just added 50 cents for a fried rice. It was well packed for a to go!

I would say this is my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. The price is great, and the food is pretty consistent. I’ve tried their broccoli beef, vegetable with squid, generals chicken, house chowmein, house fried rice, crab rangoon, kung pao chicken, chow fun, etc. Everything is good, but my favorites are generals chicken and beef chow fun! Anyway, check this place out! I think they give you discount if you are watching a movie too. Will have to confirm on my next visit.

Loved the location once I actually found it. I got the dinner special and it tasted decent more towards the bland side of the spectrum. I ordered orange chicken and Szechwan beef. The whole meal and a drink was only $ 9 so that was great, even came with a couple fortune cookies for dessert. Nothing too memorable but I will be attempting to try something else on the menu some time soon.

So yummy and great prices. Finally a good Chinese place in Idaho! The combo plate for lunch or dinner is 2 items, fried rice and chow mein and a drink for $ 8.50. The sweet and sour chicken is just what I’ve been looking for… a lot of Chinese we’ve had here in Idaho has sweet and sour that tastes like ketchup. It’s clean, you order up front and pick your seat. Now to tell everyone there is good Chinese in Idaho!

I was in the mood for Chinese food and was near Costco so I thought I would try this place out. It is located in the strip mall next to the Edwards Theatre on Cole/Overland. When I walked in, I could tell they took great pride in keeping things clean and nice. As we were seated they brought out some Egg Drop soup which was very flavorful and very tasty. We ordered: 1) Ragoons(Average) 2) Chicken Chow Mein(Average) 3) Chicken Fried Rice(Above Average) 4) General Tso’s Chicken(Above Average) They waitress was great and said they were known for their General Tso’s Chicken so we included that in our order which did turn out to be the best thing we ordered. Overall, everything was good and our drinks remained filled and the place was nice and clean. As we left, we saw a sign that says they do have MSG in their food but they can omit it if asked and can make their food gluten free upon request. I wish I would have seen that sign on the way in, I wonder how it would have tasted without the MSG. Overall, average place. I would be back to try different things if I was in the area and was craving Chinese food.

Had the lunch size sesame chicken, perfect sauce and chicken. Rice was great. Best sesame chicken in town! Service was prompt and courteous. Couldn’t ask for more.

Pretty damn good. It’s Americanized Chinese food. It’s consistent. The potstickers are very good. Sometimes, the chicken is a bit … yuck. But the prices are outstanding for what you get.

I want to be mad at this place, because their take-out service is incredibly slow on a consistent basis… But the food is so damned good I have to give it at least 4 starts

I eat Chinese a lot. This restaurant is on the bottom of my list. I got General’s Chicken, Fried Rice and a half order of Crab Rangoon. Usually about $ 10, but here it was $ 15. The taste was bland. General’s chicken should be a little spicy and the sauce should definitely not have the same consistency as my glass of water. The sweet and sour sauce was red water. It took about 20 minutes for my food to be ready as well. So price, taste, quality, service are all thumbs down for me. Go to Panda Express which is on the other side of the road.

first vist, general’s chicken. Chicken was cooked perfectly, golden brown and crispy with nice green onion slivers on top. Portions on the large size but almost $ 10 for lunch. Sauce was a little on the runny side for my tastes and too sweet. I like my generals chicken a little spicy with some bean paste. Received my order very quickly. Will try again.

To start off, if I could give them a zero I would, but I can’t so they get 1 star. I ordered through their website online for a delivery order. Once I ordered they called me up and told me that delivery could be as long as 1 ½ hours. I asked them how long it would be if I came and picked it up and they stated it would be 20 minutes to a half an hour. I then ran some errands and got there 45 minutes after they had called. I went in and found out that my order wasn’t finished! I had to wait another 15 minutes making it a full hour for my take out order! Plus I believe that half of my food was sitting out because the entrees were luke warm at best! Additionally, I had specifically asked for 2 containers of rice in my order, and they simply ignored it and only gave us one container of rice to split, although I bought two dinners there, and both dinners are supposed to come with rice. THANKSFORMAKINGMESPLITUPMYRICE! The food is decent, but you’ll definitely be on their time line and not your own! Absolutely not reliable as far as time goes! I will NEVER go back because I don’t know when I’ll get my food!!! Instead I’ll just go over to Panda Express. At least I know I’ll get my food in a timely manner!

Great hot & sour soup! We also had the General’s Chicken and Chicken Yellow Curry and both were pretty spicy! If you like hot… awesome…if not so much, you might want to ask for it to be not as spicy. Other than that… very good food! :)

Gluten free Chinese food, Not bad!!! It wasn’t anything special but it was good. Next time I’ll eat in, as we had takeout, and maybe I will enjoy myself a bit more.

The meal was awesome. The furniture and menu board are in desperate need of updating, but don’t let that stop you from trying this place. Tons of food, great pricing, and very delicious!

This is our go to place when my husband and I are in the mood for Chinese food. Our three most fave dishes are: Mongolian beef, ba pao ding and moo goo gai pan. Portions are plentiful.

This is by far my favorite Chinese restaurant I’ve been to in the Boise area. The only thing that’s a little annoying is they are in a rather inconvenient location. I’ve been looking for an excuse to come back though! They have excellent sesame chicken with perfect sauce. Their fried rice is good too. Always very nice service. The atmosphere is a little drab but the food more than makes up for it. They aren’t a fast food type of place though you might think so at first but they don’t take very long to cook at all. Great place!

I moved from Northern California about 7 months ago and ever since I have been trying to find a good Chinese restaurant. I have never been so disgusted by Chinese food and the sides of ketchup? wth do u put ketchup on that is Chinese? I was going to places that were supposed to be great according to Unilocal gross gross gross! Well this time I decided to go some place without great rating thinking maybe everyone is just backwards around here. Well it is Sunday and I did not feel like driving nothing was open so I was struggling really to find ANY Chinese place that was open it was 11:59 am and I ran across this place opens at noon WOOHOO and delivers so it was going to have to be here and I just decided to give it a shot regardless of bad reviews and boy am I happy I did my search is OVER. My honey loves hot and sour soup while I LOVE seafood but most of all crab rangoons I get them every time I get Chinese food. Anyways I am just kind of rambling we ordered the Kung pao scallops, house chow mien, broccoli beef, crab rangoons, hot and sour soup, then we got the dinners so I got steamed rice honey got fried rice. Veggies crisp in every dish the kung pao was actually spicy, chow mein delicious not greasy! Broccoli beef was probably some of the best I have ever ate. The crab rangoons were not the best but they were better than most places I’ve ate id order them again just a lil bit too much onion flavor I believe it is then the moment of truth the hot and sour soup which almost every restaurant makes badly IMO and I like but am not a huge fan of but of course like said before my honey loves it so we tried it and it was absolutely delicious! I ended up eating it when he forgot it for lunch: p. O yes and the kicker they didn’t give me ketchup. Hallelujah! I am not sure if the people that did not enjoy it had an off day or just have different taste but if u r from out of the area and having the same issues finding good Chinese come here! There may be better but im not wasting a buncha money trying to find it for now. I would not give this as many stars if it were back home in ca but in this area its great quality

This place was really awful! Instant rice, over-saturated dishes, and very poor service. Their menu descriptions are very lacking and you definitely are not ordering what you think you are. Do not go here!
