For Boise, this place has pretty good Chinese food. The food is fresh, and the staff is very friendly!

I ordered a large delivery order and they forgot the most important part the sweet n sour sauce for my sweet n sour pork. I called to get it resolved and was placed on hold several times. I was told it would be a long time before it will be delivered. I then requested fresh pork to go with the sauce I was told to send the other pork back. So I sent it, soggy and cold when we received the corrected order it had far less than the first order and my children were already in bed by time it showed up. I love their food but frustrated with their customer service.

The owner… also does delivery for the business! Seriously. When you order delivery from Lucky Palace. .the owner Lucky, may deliver your meal! Got to love the small business owner that is not afraid to get out there and do even the most basic of job! The food is good too… Tip: If Lucky asks you to pull his finger… don’t!!!

Customer service is definitely an issue here. We ordered delivery to try this place for the first time. Delivery was fast but two of our items arrived wrong. We had ordered mandarin chicken and general Tsos chicken with broccoli added.(We wanted to try the General Tsos at the recommendation of other Unilocalers). When the order arrived the mandarin chicken was actually sweet & sour chicken. The General Tsos Chicken was actually Kung Pao chicken(with no added broccoli as ordered) = 2 out 5 dishes wrong. I called the restaurant just to request a refund for the 2 dishes that were incorrect. On the first attempt to reach them, no one answered. Second time I got through. After explaining the issue(and asking for a refund of the 2 dishes only) I was told to hold and listened to a conversation between the employees(I’m assuming) to tell me Sweet & Sour is the exact same thing as Mandarin chicken. Really?! Which is a flat out lie since both items are listed on their online menu– why would you list the same item twice? Long story short they basically refused to refund the dishes and we left them untouched. She explained they were too busy with deliveries to handle our issue or give a refund. Who in their right mind tells a customer they are too busy to help them or make things right?! Needless to say we will NOT be returning or ordering from this business again. It was a very simple fix on their end and they chose to be cheap about it.

I typically don’t write reviews — ever — but have to give props to Lucky Palace for their amazing food. I ordered S&S Chicken, Fried Shrimp, egg roll and lo mein, and I have to tell you that the only Chinese food i’ve eaten that beats it was in Chinatown in the Bay Area. The fried foods weren’t greasy at all, and the ingredients were obviously incredibly fresh. Excellent, delicious food and reasonably priced.

Wow. What a meal. They really tried to comprehend as much Chinese verity in the menu. Also, I really appreciate they try to keep this restaurant authentic in local boise. Tong tong, the waitress was really friendly. I kept hearing the neighbor seat saying how delicious their dishes are.

Best Chinese food on the west side. The fried rice is fresh and soft, the generals chicken is the best I’ve ever tasted, the beef actually tastes like beef …but…STAYAWAY from the SOUP! The wonton tastes like a bowl of hot snot cooking for a week. highly disappointed But will always go back for everything else.

The food here was typical of most Chinese restaurants in the Treasure Valley. Some items are really good others are just ok or just awful. I ordered takeout on a cold winter night. Hoping for some excellent Chinese food I decided on lucky palace since they were close to were I was shopping. I ordered a combo meal. Sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice, pork chow mein and fried shrimp. I also ordered two egg rolls. The sweet and sour chicken was really good. The batter was crispy and it was all white meat chicken which I enjoy. I usually prefer the brown sweet and sour sauce but I did enjoy there red sauce. I paid extra and had the chow mein turned into lo mein which I prefer. It was pretty good but a little to much oil was used when they pan fried it up. My dining companion said she would definitely order it again though. The fried rice on the other hand, I did not enjoy. It was dry and it was bland. I had to add soy sauce and some sweet and sour sauce to eat it. Since this was my first visit, it could have just been a off night. I do love fried rice so that’s important when deciding were I want to go for Chinese food. The egg roll was nice and crispy with a tasty filling of pork and vegetable’s. I gave the shrimp to my dining companion because the seafood smell was way to strong. I love shrimp, but dang it was strong. Overall it was a decent experience but I wouldn’t drive out of my way for it. If I was in Boise and on overland and wanted some Chinese I would consider stopping in. At least for the sweet and sour chicken

First visit yesterday was for take-out was good. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered egg foo young which was okay… not great. Served in a normal box, but in the gravy vs gravy on the side, which I prefer. Flavor was okay, Mongolian beef was also in a heavy gravy and not my favorite. General chicken was very tasty, but all in a heavy sauce. House Style Noodles were excellent, stir fried with chicken, beef, shrimp and veggies. All very fresh. Their Tsing Tao is served well chilled in an icey glass, while I waited.

Decent food for delivery. The delivery was very quick! Polite over the phone. The meal was still hot when delivered. I would eat there again if the mood struck me for sure.

Remember when this place just opened about 4 or 5 years ago was really good. The cook/owner was from golden star when it was really good. The good was excellent, but I feel that it has went down food was bland, it did feel like a typical Chinese restaurant nothing outstanding. Did a take out order was ready when they said it was in 15 mins. Place is very clean.

For years the Golden Star off of orchard Avenue was the bench mark for Chinese food in Boise. But since the older generation doesn’t operate it any more that’s gone in the toilet. One of the cooks operates the kitchen at Luckys and we’ve been going there for a couple of years now, but I guess all good things must come to a end. I never mind paying for what you get, but at Luckys it’s not. The portions have gotten smaller Grease needs to be changed in the fryers. Don’t get me wrong about the taste of the food, it’s pretty good. I Just see it going down hill. NOT much choice for really good Chinese in Boise. Those that think they might have a really good tasting Chinese restaurant, better go look and see how clean the kitchen is. Take it from me that had a profession used to get me into a lot of kitchens.

Great food. One of the only places I’ve found in the area that makes delicious salt & pepper squid, plus they deliver! The delivery guy is awesome. The service is great. Definitely a regular.

Turn around and run. I do not eat here. Old BBQ pork, burned pot stickers, greasy fried rice and noodles and it got worse from there.

Typical, greasy Americanized Chinese food, exactly like what you’ll find in thousands of other places. It’s edible, but not particularly delicious, and my family prefers the Panda Express fast food joint down the street(which really says something). I also feel the prices are too high for what you get. We appreciate that you can get take out, but the wait is too long for this kind of food. In short, our search for fantastic Chinese continues…

One of the few things about Unilocal that I’m not a big fan of is that you can only post one review. If I go somewhere multiple times, I get one review. I did give this place a positive review at one time but those days are done and here is the true review. At my first attempt to place an order, Lucky Palace failed miserably. I gave my address and phone number very slowly and clearly and after being asked multiple times to repeat the information, my information was repeated back to me and it’s almost like the person wrote down their interpretation of what I said. In frustration, I hung up. However, we needed dinner so my wife called and placed our order. I could hear her in the other room repeating our address 11-teen time times and it still surprises me after an hour our food showed up. Once our food showed up, we thought we were in the clear. Personally, I ordered a Dinner Combo #3. Sweet and Sour Chicken, Pork Fried Rice,(Greasy-ass) Egg roll and Fried Shrimp. After paying for our food, I began plating. I kept telling my wife how odd it was I didn’t get rice. I went back online to see if I should have received rice and surprise, I should have received rice. My wife called to ask where the rice was and was told they didn’t believe we actually placed an order because they didn’t know what our ticket number was. WHAT??? AREYOUSERIOUS!!! I’M HOLDING A STICKINGRECEIPT!!! After the fail of a call, my wife informed me she didn’t know if we were getting the rice we ordered. F! F! F! Don’t ever order from this place unless you want to over pay for mediocre food and not get everything you paid for. Starving is a better idea than ordering from here… UPDATE — about 2 hours after we placed our order, we were brought a small carton of fried rice. Even though we were made whole, I stand by my review. Won’t be ordering from this place for a VERY long time.

Went here based off positive Unilocal reviews and was absolutely disgusted! Location smells like a used restroom, tables were dirty, and the place was pretty much empty. I’ve had decent food in not the greatest of places, and I absolutely regret coming here. Their dinner sized portions are more garnish than food and their food was not thoroughly cooked. The only reason I would even give it 1 star is for the free drink refills. But even then, their dishes were not totally clean. DONOTGOHERE!!!
